- In this video, Chuck demonstrates how to make a project that's perfect for first responders-a durable and functional leather radio strap. In Part 1 of this 2-part video series, Chuck creates the main body portion that will safely hold your radio.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of this series where we add the appropriate leather straps to finish your project!

This guy always brings a smile to my face. Love his charisma
I’ve been wanting to make one of these for years!!
Great timing for be as well. Just started to look at making one of these for myself. Thanks again Chuck! Beautiful work as always.
I could use something like that for my Ham Radio hand-held transceiver.
Once again, Chuck has added something new to my list of projects. 😄
This video couldn’t have come at a better time! Thank you Chuck and everyone @Weaver Leather Supply! Just the inspiration I needed for a project I’m making for a firefighter buddy of mine! You guys always come threw for us leather crafters!!!!
Nice idea for GMRS radios for the off road community. Sounds like a niche market for some gas money. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Chuck. 🎉🎉
Great video. God bless. From Glenn CATT. In Massachusetts.
Thank you so much Chuck. Watching this sitting in a unit on a wreck right now. Can’t wait to make one of these for myself and my boyfriend. (And maybe for my partner’s birthday too) This is sure to keep me busy for a hot minute.
Nice project! Easy pattern. Looks great and I’m sure the first responders will like it. Best regards, Richard
Thank you so much brother
someone asked me about this last week! perfect timing!
Very cool and practical 😊
I would love to make a old fasion leather fireman's helmet
Love this idea!!!
Excellent! Thank you Chuck!
Fantastic as always chuck can't wait to try one for myself.
Love ya Chuck 👍
I couldn't find the actual pdf pattern. It's definitely a cool project, and I know a few people who could use one
Same, I can’t find the pattern
It should be there now!
tyvm for explaining things. i have been trying to make a case for airpods and the pattern part is always easy. looks alot like the one your using today. but then the thickness of the leather messes me up every time and it is too tight.
NICE ❤
It might be a good idea to add another loop to the side of it that the mic can be slotted into without hanging free there
Most people just attach it to the antenna.
The mic will be attached to the shoulder strap, that video is coming out on friday.
@@WeaverLeatherSupply I was meaning if just utilizing the belt clip from this video.
@@WeaverLeatherSupply I was mainly thinking about something for when it's just the belt strap part
I can’t find the pattern on the website link that was provided. I see the tools but no pattern.
It should be there now! Sorry about that
Why not set the snap before you river it?
Firefighter brothers, can anyone confirm this fits a Motorola APX7000XE or does it need to be adjusted?
Chuck, would you have a pattern for a long leather jacket and if so how much is the pattern because I am interested in getting a pattern and making that specific jacket
We do not have any jacket patterns at this time, so sorry about that!
👍
What do you recommend for "no slip" tape on the back of your metal square?
We will link the one we carry here: www.weaverleathersupply.com/products/non-slip-tape-1-x-4
The shoulder strap version sells well. No clip.
The strap will be made in part 2!
