It's now May 2024 when I am watching this and aside from a couple of things, this is not a bad looking car, colour is perfect, interior colour is perfect, do hope someone is enjoying this beauty to this day.
Wow, she's a beauty. Part of the charm of an old Volvo is some of its battle scars (some dents and such) that it has collected over its journey. I have a 1992 960 sedan with 184,000 kms (not miles). It has NEVER seen a Canadian winter - I live in Montreal Canada. The problem with the early 960s is that they ended up in the car grave because of a design flaw - a very weak timing belt system. These are interference engines and if the timing belt goes, so does the engine. I modified mine and managed to use the timing belt system of a 1997 Volvo 850 on my 960 and I feel much better now. Anyhow, these 960s were the last of the great cars Volvo made. I was contemplating selling mine but after watching your great video here, I'm thinking maybe not
Really nice, I saw a 940 in the same colour at a parts swap meet at Three Counties Showground, the colour was so good I still think about it sometimes 😄
This is one of those cars you might regret selling in the future. Although the fuel might be expensive if it was running nicely then it’s either been looked after mechanically or is very robust either of which generally bodes well for reliability & maintenance. The big 6cyl luxo barges are so comfortable to drive plus this one could have been really nice with a little TLC & on a budget if you didn’t want it perfect but just presentable. I’ve now bought two filthy old cars that turned out to have good records of past owner maintenance but we’re an off putting eye sore at first glance. A full valet & they looked great. Don’t know much about Volvo but your channel is an education on the 1990’s-2000’s model line-up. Thanks.
With regards to fuel, I was driving my 2.5 manual daily for 2 years and it returned 28mpg combined (it’s now enjoying semi retirement 🤣). With the 3.0 auto I would suggest around 25mpg. Not a lot less than the 940 turbo 👍
@@GeoffBuysCars Weigh up silky smooth 6 cylinder goodness vs. 4 pot virtually indestructible with boosty goodness. I love my 960, but I miss boost. I may +T the 960 at some point for the best of both worlds! :D
A nice motor there Geoff, I’m sure you’ll have or didn’t have any problems selling her. They are thirsty but you don’t buy an automatic 3 litre luxobarge to save money on fuel. Extremely practical estate, use as a load carrier or indeed a potential mini camper! I had a 740 estate and that was a nice car, very solid and practical. Good vid/review.👍
Hey rob, no it’s just the order the videos were published. This one went online before I put it in the giveaway :-) I hadn’t 100% decided what to do with the car when I uploaded this (the day I got it)

Fold down the rear seats, instant campervan staycation fun !
This car is stunning.
Exactly! This is why we have a 940 as our family car. Instant holiday, especially with a gigantic top box...

Let me know if you're at 3 counties again, i'm right by there
I got a 940 in that colour and i can say that the colour never gets old😎
Nice, I need a 960 to add to my lot

Got to be a record... car collection to CZcams vid posting in a few hours 👍👍
i know right?! might be the new way to do it!
There's a saloon one of these on autotrader right now, 72,000 miles, 2k
That's a bargain for a sub-100k car.
Why was the driver door handle not painted?
Hi Geoff, how much are you wanting for it? It'd go nicely with my 940 and V70 if the price is right.
Cheers.
Pop me an email over geoffbuyscars@gmail.com and we can talk
It's missing the front spoiler.
Hang on a minute, this was one of the options in a raffle you were running and now you're selling it before the raffle? Something smells fishy

How much is it
it's gone now
