- It's almost time to say "Good night, John Boy!!" L.A. Audiences have just TWO MORE WEEKS to see Richard Thomas live on stage in Harper Lee's TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD at Hollywood Pantages Theatre. You can ALSO catch him on the CW (KTLA 5 in LA) this Sunday, November 20th in "A Walton's Thanksgiving."
There is ONLY ONE JOHN BOY in the history of showbiz / The Waltons . . . and that's RICHARD THOMAS. Nobody can copy or replace him in the hearts of all Americans and the people around the world.
I believe Richard Thomas is a national treasure. Love his incomparable work. So gifted.
2022 Christmas gift from my family- 2 tickets for March, 2023 to Ft Lauderdale to see Richard Thomas in To Kill A Mockingbird!!! So psyched.
Lucky you, enjoy your heart out 👍
There's Richard Thomas! Good night John-Boy!
This was such a good interview! I can't believe that they knew each other already before Logan was cast! And somehow a coincidence that somehow Logan got cast! Very cute story! And that Richard still has his overalls! AH! This is so cute! This interview made me smile, thank you for this!
I saw the play at the Pantages back on 11/5. Amazing. It meant a lot to me to finally see this. 🤩
Richard Thomas killed that role in ozark
he looks good for his age still :)
Couldn’t watch it, they need to bring back the old crew with a reunion.
Or maybe change it to their grandkids or past that living life in the modern world instead of it being the original characters again. It’s not the same.
I hope this becomes a Tv Series you don’t see family shows like this anymore and I have always liked the Waltons I own every season on vudu and I would like to own all the seasons plus the six movies on dvd so I do hope this becomes a series with the original John Boy aka Richard Thomas being the narrator like he has for two tv movies they have done and I would watch the series if they decide to turn it into one.
Watched about 15 minutes of the Thanksgiving show. That's all I could stand. The original Waltons was so much better. The new cast look too Hollywood or modern captured to the original cast. That were more real looking.
If it isn't broke don't try to fix it that's my matto.(hope I spelled that right) Hollywood is attempting to bring some of the legendary shows. The casting of the original Waltons was so on point you cannot recreate that cast. I watch 20 minutes of the holiday new waltons show and had to give it up just WASN'T THERE..I wanted to give them a shot, be open minded, to no avail. My rating from 1-10 ten being the highest......3 is my vote..
I totally agree with you 💯percent. Just is not the same.
I agree with comments here about not the same as the original…bcz I loved the original I was willing to give the new version a chance but it just wasn’t the same. Seems like the spirit of the original just wasn’t there, no magic. A shame really bcz yeah I do think our society could benefit from a show like what The Waltons was.
I love Richard Thomas. The original Waltons was one of those lightning in a bottle shows. Everyone cast was perfect in the role, everyone was believable, you felt their emotions with them. Like others, I've tried to watch the new one, but unfortunately, it doesn't measure up. Nothing is worn or beat up, the house is perfect and all the kids are a little too over the top. I think the actors are doing a decent job, just the writing and direction are just off. It seems almost a parody of the original, and that's what makes me sad about it.
