  • Total Quality Management (TQM) is an organizational strategy for delivering products and services that consistently meet or exceed customers' expectations for quality and value. TQM widens the focus on quality throughout the board, from upper management to entry-level workers. It paves the way for management to take a more strategic tack with quality, focusing more on prevention than inspection. By empowering every nurse with the knowledge and confidence to make their own choices for the sake of raising the bar for quality, Total Quality Management (TQM) ensures that everyone contributes to raising the bar.
Hospitals and other healthcare institutions may improve patient happiness, cut expenses, and encourage teamwork via TQM. Profit margins and capital gains for businesses can both increase. The ability to deliver high-quality services paves the way for charging premium rates. Total quality allows you to tap into more international markets, build stronger relationships with your customers, get more credibility as a quality brand, etc.

Through this video, I was able to know about the 8 principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) which are the customer focus, leadership, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutual beneficial supplier relationships. The differences between the 8 principles were discussed efficiently. Through watching the video, I’ve learned that customer focus is the most important principle because without customers, a company, a business, or an organization couldn’t exist. It is essential to always know and understand first both the needs and expectations of the customers to ensure customers satisfaction. In general, I can say that I've learned a lot about Total Quality Management, especially its 8 guiding principles. As a student nurse, I have learned many things about TQM in the medical field. In particular, I have learned how it can be used to improve patient care and reduce costs. It is important to make sure that services are consistent and reliable so that patients do not get hurt or experience delays in their care. I think that TQM is a good way to ensure quality and efficiency in healthcare because it helps organizations focus on what they can control, rather than what they cannot control. By doing this, they can make sure that everything is done correctly and efficiently, which will result in better patient care.

Thank you once more for your really informative video on Total Quality Management. I viewed this video two months ago, and viewing it again was a great refresher for me, and I felt like my learnings were still fresh from the first time I saw it. Total Quality Management is important since it provides the quality assurance that clients will be able to get what they expect and it is also a technique used to ensure that the business is well-organized and efficient. This video discussed the 8 principles of Total Quality Management as well as its implementation and benefits in a company comprehensively. I’ve learned that the 8 principles of Total Quality Management are; customer focus, leadership, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutual beneficial supplier relationships. The differences between the 8 principles were discussed efficiently.
Through the video, I’ve learned that customer focus is the most important principle because without customers, a company, a business, or an organization couldn’t exist. It is essential to always know and understand first both the needs and expectations of the customers to ensure customers satisfaction. The next quality that was discussed was leadership. I've discovered that being a leader involves inspiring and motivating others to work to their best potential as well as having the capacity to help a company's management reach its objectives. I’ve also learned that there is a difference between a leader and a manager. While a leader inspires followers to give their all in their work and tasks, a manager merely directs individuals in their job or responsibilities. Another principle discussed in the video was the process approach. In the video, I’ve learned that taking the proper process and steps could ensure consistency and speed up production. In return, the company will have reliable and predictable results. To implement process approach in a company, a process flowchart could be used. This way, everyone within the organization would be able to understand their duties and how they could contribute to the achievement of the organization's goals. People involvement was the fourth principle discussed in the video. I’ve learned that this principle is considered as the key to success because this focuses on the total commitment among employees in order to meet the organization’s objectives. The goal of achieving customer satisfaction should always be actively pursued by employees who are driven, committed, and engaged. The fifth principle of total quality management that was discussed was systematic approach to management. I’ve learned that this focuses on the management process itself rather than on the final outcome. The best way to put this principle into practice is to give the workforce the appropriate resources and training, enhance processes and products, and replace equipment as needed to meet objectives. The next and sixth principle was continual improvement. I’ve learned that any effective business should always aim to make progress. With regards to healthcare, it is best to be updated with the evolving and changing ways to promote patient care. The next principle that was discussed was the factual approach to decision making. I’ve learned that effective and efficient decisions should always be made based on rational analysis of data, meaning to say, before making any decision, it is best to gather factual data and evidence first to ensure that it is reliable and accurate. The last principle that was discussed was mutually beneficial supplier relations. I’ve learned that this principle focuses on the organization and its suppliers. Good communication is always the key to promote harmonious relationship with the supplier as well as to provide good quality of care to the patient.
In general, I can say that I've learned a lot about Total Quality Management, especially its 8 guiding principles. I now understand how important every principle is, especially in the healthcare industry.

The 8 principles of complete management are discussed in this incredibly useful video. The eight pillars of total management include leadership, customer focus, process approach, employee involvement, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision-making, and last but not least, mutually beneficial supplier partnerships. Many organizations refer to these elements as a set of guiding concepts and values since they are thought to be so essential to TQM. Along with the confidence that customers will get what they want, the relevance of TQM provides a process for handling unhappy clients, making required corrections, and averting repeat situations.

This video is very helpful and supplemental to us. This is to prepare us in the future when we're already employed or managing certain organizations. I've learned that Total Quality Management is a management technique based on the idea that all employees continuously improve their ability to provide on-demand products and services that customers will find of particular value. In principle number 1, it's true that customer focus is very important because without customers or clients, there is no business. This is a universal rule or statement; more customers, more sales. 2nd principle is Leadership. To become an effective leader, you should be a good example to your subordinates or followers. Leaders are responsible for creating a productive and progressive business environment and charge of ensuring that future hires maintain that atmosphere. 3rd principle is Process Approach which is critical in quality management. Process ensure that the proper steps are taken at the right time to ensure consistency and speed up production. Making outline or objectives is a good strategy to attain your goals because this will serve as a guide to achieve your certain outcomes. Process approach can make a faster development and production cycles, lower costs as well as increased revenue. 4th principle is People Involvement. You can't increase productivity, processes or sales without the total commitment of all employees. You must acknowledge each individual contributing to the completion of the product or goal. There are also many process or steps to implement TQM. You should also ask for the employees voice or opinion to improve the organization and ways to solve the existing or predictable problems. Principle 5 is Systematic approach to management. In this principle, it argues that identifying, understanding and managing processes using a clear system will help to streamline your business and by ensuring that team members are dedicating that right amount of attention to key tasks, you'll eliminate wasted time and make business more efficient. Principle 6 is continual improvement. A business should always be pushing for improvements and it should be a permanent goal of any successful organizations. Commitment to improvement also allows you to be the market leader, you'll serve as a role model to other business owners in the market. 7th principle is Factual Approach to Decision Making. This principle states that effective decisions are made based on rational analysis of data. Make decisions based on the facts learned from the data in addition to your experiences and intuition. Last principle is Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relations. This principle dictated that relationships between your company and any suppliers must be mutually beneficial in order to add value to both parties. You should have a good relationship with your supplier to have a smooth transaction of the said supplies which will be use in the organization. I'm glad that our clinical instructor provide us this supporting video for us to be informed and provide additional knowledge when it comes to management or managing.

From this video, I have learned the eight guiding principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) namely leadership, customer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutual beneficial supplier relationships. Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management philosophy and approach that emphasizes the importance of quality in all aspects of an organization. TQM aims to involve every employee in the organization in the continuous improvement of processes, products, and services to meet or exceed customer expectations. The purpose of TQM is to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency, increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, and enhance the overall quality of products and services. TQM can also help organizations reduce costs, increase productivity, and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. By involving every employee in the continuous improvement process, TQM can create a culture of quality and innovation within the organization.

This video is really helpful, it talks about the 8 principles of total management. The eight principles of total management consists of: Leadership, costumer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making and lastly mutual beneficial supplier relationships. The TQM can be summarized as a management system for a customer-focused organization that involves all employees in continual improvement. It uses strategy, data, and effective communications to integrate the quality discipline into the culture and activities of the organization. It focuses on process improvements over the long term, rather than simply emphasizing short-term gains.
The TQM requires every team member to be at their best and to function as a value-adding member of that healthcare team. This means communication and transparency is a core tenet of successful TQM practices. The 4th Principle which is Involvement of People is important because team members within the organization have a right to share their knowledge, skills and experiences in groups. This facilitates a more effective organisation through the strengthening of departments and groups within the organisation, thereby assisting quality management by ensuring that departments are able to operate smoothly and more effectively. The 5th principle I think is one of the critical part of the management of quality is the strategic and systematic approach to achieving an organization’s vision, mission, and goals. TQM requires that an organization continually collect and analyze data in order to improve decision making accuracy, achieve consensus, and allow prediction based on past history. Having a good relationship with your suppliers is an advantage in any setting, it enhances the ability of both to create value. Use of this supplier relationship principle provides an increased ability to create value for both parties.
I am grateful that I learned much more while watching this video. I'm enlightened about the TQM.

After watching the presentation and listening to the reporters, I gained knowledge about the total quality management. In short words, total quality management is a management strategy that continues to improve the quality of the products and of process of production. The main characteristics of total quality management focuses on ways in which these processes can be managed with two key objectives:100% customer satisfaction and zero defects. In today’s global market, competition continues to get harder and it is becoming essential for companies to provide more consistent or better quality products and services to their customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations. A key management approach such as total quality management should be implemented by organizations.
I also discovered that there are 8 principles of total quality management. These are.
    1. Customer focus - the company must place the customer at the center of attention inorder to understand their needs so that they can meet or exceed their expectations
    2. Leadership - by establishing a unity of purpose and organizational direction where allmembers of an organization can share a common goal or aim
    3. Total Employee Commitment and Involvement - involvement and utilization of theentire workforce by creating an environment without fear and encourages everyemployee’s involvement and achievement of the organization’s objectives
    4. People involvement - recognizing that the things accomplished are the results ofprocesses.
    5. Systematic Approach to Management - a company’s strategic plan mustincorporate quality as a core component the strategy here is doing the right things rightthe first time and every time
    6. Continual Improvement - creating a culture of continuous improvement for zerodefects, zero errors and zero accidents.
    7. Factual Approach to Decision Making - decisions must only be based on accuraterelevant and reliable data and information
    8. Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relationships - where both the company and the suppliercan benefit from one another’s resources and know-how resulting in value for all.

From what I learned in the video, the concept behind Total Quality Management is that all employees should constantly work to increase their capacity to provide products and services that customers will find particularly valuable. With that being said, it consists of 8 principles which include Customer Focus, Leadership, Process Approach, People Involvement, System Approach to Management, Continual Improvement, Factual Approach to Decision Making, and Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relations.
The first principle is Customer Focus. The first, and maybe most significant, concept contends that a company would not exist without its clients. In order to better meet their needs and expectations, businesses should work to understand their present and potential customers. Improved customer loyalty, higher market share, and increased revenue are all key advantages of developing strong customer connections. It is worth paying special attention to this notion because the success of your organization is practically ensured if you are viewed as understanding and responding to consumer demand effectively. In order to be able to implement this principle you have to research and understand the needs of your customer as well as their expectations. In addition to this, you must also align your organization’s objectives with customer needs, communicate with the customers effectively and measure satisfaction and use the result to find ways to improve processes. The second principle is Leadership, which essentially for me is very important because the development of a successful and forward-thinking business environment is the responsibility of leaders. They are also in charge of making sure that the environment is maintained by new hires. Implementing this principle in your workplace is dependent on having a clear vision for the company and having the right leaders in place to communicate that vision to the rest of the team. You'll save time and frustration later on if you take your time now to do things right. The third principle is Process Approach, a process-driven approach can assist businesses in avoiding logistical issues that frequently result from uncertainty over the best course of action. Additionally, having established procedures assures that there won't be a crisis when a key team member departs and leaves everyone in the dark regarding crucial facets of their jobs. Next is People Involvement, just like how a company would be nowhere without a customer base, it would also be nowhere without a well-balanced, multi-skilled team. This principle is all about acknowledging that employees at every level of the organization are essential to its success. As an employer, it's critical to make sure that your team is motivated and invested in both their daily tasks and the firm as a whole. To make this happen, employees must be aware of the significance of their jobs and how they fit into the larger goals of the organization. They must also accept responsibility for any issues that might prevent them from performing their duties to the best of their abilities.
The principle of systematic approach to management, which is related to the preceding one, contends that recognizing, comprehending, and managing processes via the use of a clear system would aid in the streamlining of your company. You may cut down on wasted time and increase the effectiveness of your company by ensuring that team members are giving important tasks the appropriate amount of attention. A methodical approach also enables everyone to access all phases of specific procedures and keep up of developments. Plus, a well-organized business presents well to potential new customers. The sixth principle is Continual Improvement. Any successful organization has a long-term goal of continuous improvement. If you look at the top 10 most successful companies in the world, you can be sure that they have entire teams working to make sure they are continually moving forward. Being dedicated to improvement also enables you to dominate the market because you'll be setting the pace rather than lagging behind your rivals. Second to the last principle is Factual Approach to Decision Making, according to this principle, sensible data analysis underpins the formulation of sensible decisions. Although a gut instinct can be helpful in some circumstances, it won't really hold up when you're trying to convince your board of investors that your profits this year are down 10%. And then lastly, the eighth principle which is Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relations. This principle states that in order to add value to both sides, relationships between your organization and any suppliers must be mutually beneficial. If everything runs well and amicably between the two of you, it makes it simpler to bargain on prices and enables both of you to respond more swiftly and adaptably to client requests.
In conclusion, Total Quality Management as well as its principles are essential in a company. I’ve gathered a lot of information regarding the topic through this video and was able to connect it’s influence in a healthcare sector.

The Total Quality Management can be summed up as a management technique for a customer-focused organization that incorporates all employee in ongoing or continual improvement. It uses data, strategy and effective communications to integrate the quality discipline into the organization's activities and culture. According to this concept, all the members of an organization contribute towards the improvement of products, processes, and services, thereby improving their working culture. TQM provides the quality assurance that clients will be able to get what they expect and it is also a technique used to ensure that the business is well-organized and efficient. I have learned how it can be used to improve patient care and reduce costs. It is crucial to ensure that services are trustworthy and consistent in order to prevent patient harm or care delays. The video is incredibly helpful regarding total quality management. The first principle, customer focus, emphasizes the importance of ensuring that your customers benefit from the services you provide because your company would be useless without them. The second principle, leadership, discusses the importance of having a leader to provide unity of purpose while also establishing the organization's direction. The third principle, process approach, is essential for any company striving for continuous improvement. Each of the steps outlined above should be incorporated into your quality management strategy to ensure the best results from your various processes. In the fourth principle, People Involvement, you cannot increase productivity, processes, or sales unless all employees are fully committed. They must comprehend the vision and objectives that have been communicated. To be committed they must be adequately trained and provided with the necessary resources. The fifth principle, SYSTEMATIC APPROACH, is focused on identifying, comprehending, and managing interrelated processes as a system contributes to the organization's effectiveness and efficiency in achieving its goals. The sixth principle, continuous improvement, focuses on the continuous improvement of organizational processes, resulting in high-quality products and services. It is important to do things correctly the first time and every time. The seventh principle, a factual approach to decision making, focuses on using all available information and data for company decision-making. The eighth principle, mutually beneficial supplier relations, emphasizes the importance of an organization and its suppliers being mutually dependent, and how a mutually beneficial relationship improves both parties' ability to create value.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management approach focusing on the improvement of quality and performance in all functions, departments, and processes across the company to provide quality services which exceed customer expectations. TQM expands the scope of quality of every department from top management to lower level employees. It enables management to adopt a strategic approach to quality and put more effort on prevention rather than on inspection. Through TQM, all employees are trained in a professional manner and encouraged to make decisions on their own to improve the overall quality and attain higher standards. This is key to achieving the TQM results desired, because without your employees on board and feeling empowered, you might as well be swimming upstream.

People utilize this technique to enhance the market image, ensure improved profit, minimize waste and errors, and improve the design of a product. And in TQM, all members are involved to improve the processes, products, services, and culture of their workplace. However, one of the disadvantages of TQM is the need for company-wide commitment to quality improvement, and the difficulty of achieving this commitment since all levels of management must be involved for the program to be truly successful.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management approach that originated in the 1950s and has since been implemented by various organizations around the world. It is based on the idea that quality should be built into every aspect of an organization's products, processes, and systems, rather than being inspected into the final product. TQM aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
To achieve TQM, organizations must involve all employees in quality improvement efforts, use data and statistical analysis to drive decision-making, and encourage open communication and collaboration. TQM also requires top management to provide strong leadership and to create an environment that supports the implementation of TQM principles.
As presented in the video, the eight (8) key principles of TQM include customer focus, continuous improvement, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, factual approach to decision making, mutual beneficial supplier relationships, and leadership. These principles are all interrelated and work together to create a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. By implementing these principles, organizations can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their operations and better meet the needs of their customers. However, it requires a commitment to long-term change and the ability to adapt to new approaches and techniques.
After watching the entire video, I realized and learned that these key principles are beneficial in the healthcare setting, particularly in my chosen field. Quality Management (TQM) can be a valuable approach for improving the quality of nursing care and patient outcomes. In the nursing profession, TQM can be used to continually assess and improve processes and systems, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. For example, customer focus, one of the principles of TQM, is especially important, as patients are the ultimate customers of healthcare services. By prioritizing the needs and expectations of patients, nurses can ensure that they are providing the highest level of care.
In addition, continuous improvement is also crucial for nurses, as it allows them to continually assess and optimize their processes and systems in order to provide the best possible care. This may involve seeking out new research and evidence-based practices, as well as identifying and addressing areas for improvement within their own work processes.
Involvement of people is another important principle in the nursing profession, as nurses often work in teams and rely on each other to provide comprehensive care. By fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration, nurses can better coordinate care and improve patient outcomes. On a side note, empowering nurses to identify and address quality issues and organizations can foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
To summarize, the Principles of TQM can be highly effective in improving the quality of nursing care and patient outcomes. By prioritizing customer focus, continuous improvement, involvement of people, and other TQM principles, nurses can ensure that they are providing the best possible care to their patients.

The video talks about the Principles of Total Quality of Management. But before that, defining what Total Quality Management or TQM is of key importance in order for us to be able to fully understand what it means and how it helps in the field of nursing. Total Quality Management or TQM is a management technique which is based on the idea that all “employees continuously improve their ability to provide on-demand products and services that customers will find of particular value. QMS or the quality management system principles, are the foundation of good business practice. Following them help ensure the business is well-organized and efficient. There are 8 principles of total quality of management and these are leadership, customer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach or decision making, and lastly, mutual beneficial supplier relationships. Proceeding with customer focus, this is the most important principle because if there are no customers, a business will not flourish or will not even exist at all. Understanding customers’ will aid in providing better services for each individual requirements and expectations. This also applies in a health care setting. As a nurse, in order to provide the best quality of care for each patient, we must be aware of what our client needs and fully understand the etiology of their complaints or disease. The next one is Leadership, this helps the workplace to have an established vision for the business. A good leader is responsible for creating a productive and progressive business. With a leader present, failure in the workplace will less likely happen since everyone follows orders from a good leader. In process approach, it is beneficial in making faster development and production cycles, lower costs, and increased revenue. It helps with the consistency and predictable outcome. Aside from that, it also focuses on continued improvements and access. People involvement, also another principle, It’s also one of the most important factors to success. This includes participation, cooperation, and communication between employees in the workplace. Through this principle, employees are able to feel a sense of belongingness. Manpower also plays a vital role in terms of achieving the institution or organization’s goal. The next principle would be the systematic approach management which is a principle linked to the previous principle, people involvement. This argues that identifying, understanding, and managing processes using a clear system will help to streamline you business through ensuring team’s dedication in providing the right amount of attention to key tasks. An organized business attracts prospective new clients. In the 6th principle, continuous improvement, by the name itself, it is the principle where a business should push for continuous progress. A business should be continuously improving in order to achieve constant success by ensuring that the business itself is still producing good quality services or products. By doing. So, you are not only giving satisfaction to you clients, but you are also ensuring the future of the company or organization. Factual approach, the 7th principle, states that effective decisions are made based on rational analysis or data. This means that before making a decision, a leader must first analyze the data gathered, ensuring factual and precise information. This action will help eliminate mistakes that could put the business at stake. The last principle is the mutually beneficial supplier relations. This dictates that relationships between your company and any supplier must be mutually beneficial in order to add value to both parties. Stakeholders’ ability to create value for both sides is increased by using the supplier relationship method.
Overall, I have learned how important TQM in all kinds of business. Since I am a student nurse, this particular management is indeed very useful. The reason for that is because we care for different clients everyday with different health care needs. By applying all 8 principles, we are able to achieve satisfactory results and help clients reach their optimum health.

It's possible that Total Quality Management (TQM) was the first quality-focused mindset to enter the healthcare industry. The difficulties in implementing such methods in healthcare have received little scientific attention to far. Despite the excitement sparked by the prospective advantages, several efforts have not entirely produced the desired outcomes. Some of the reasons for failure can be attributed to the lack of leadership commitment, the lack of support from health professionals, and the propensity to see TQM in isolation rather than integrating it into the institution's overall plan.

This video presentation talks about the Total Quality Management. Total Quality Management is a management technique based on the idea that all “employees continuously improve their ability to provide on-demand products and services that costumers will find of particular value”. In other words, it is a management approach to long-term success through customer satisfaction. The improvement of an organization’s processes, products, services, and culture is the goal in a total quality management effort. As what I’ve understood from watching this video presentation, Total Quality Management can be applied to any kind of organization specifically in the healthcare industry in order to ensure that the quality of healthcare delivery system can cater the needs of all the patients because all the healthcare workers in that specific workplace work hand in hand to make that happen, that’s why I find this video presentation interesting in the very first place.
Total Quality Management has its own principles which can ensure that a business is well-organized and efficient since it is the foundation of good business practice. Total Quality Management uses strategy, data, and effective communications to integrate quality discipline into the culture and activities of the organization. The 8 principles include leadership, customer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutual beneficial supplier relationships. As I am watching this video presentation, I’ve realized that in Total Quality Management’s goal for change and improvement can only be achieved once every healthcare worker and every hospital department is engaged in ensuring that these 8 principles are efficiently and effectively applied to provide maximal quality of for the patients. In every organization that works in the service of people, the priority will always be to provide quality customer services and experiences as well as to be able to meet the demands of whatever the customers need. In the healthcare setting, the welfare of our patients are the top priority since they are the customers of the healthcare industry. It is crucial to conduct training to employees for them to have expertise in their chosen field of healthcare and continually improving the hospital facilities in order to be able to deliver optimal quality of the healthcare services. The quality of customer services are only determined by the customers regardless of how well an organization fosters quality improvement that’s why we conduct continuous researches while also actively adapting to changes of standards as supported by evidence based researches to cater the demands of our patients to facilitate improvement of patient outcomes in the hospital setting. In order to achieve the goal of the healthcare organization to provide quality services to patients, it is important that there is also leadership and leaders that are united. Leaders in every department must have a clear and aligned understanding of the goal and direction of their organization so that the people supervised by them are also performing well by applying efficient strategies to achieve their objectives. To achieve effective Total Quality Management, every leader must be efficient in facilitating the engagement of every healthcare worker in their work. It is also important for the management to provide the proper environment for their workers that will facilitate development and empowerment since it enhances total employee commitment. Every employee is essential to enhancing the capabilities of the workforce and consistently delivery quality services to the patients. It is important that all the processes of the organization are well developed in a way that it is strategic and systematic to ensure that the workforce continue to deliver the quality services that the patients demand. To do that, it is important to also conduct monitoring and performance analysis to ensure improvement of process effectiveness. Measurement of performance is done through continuous collection and analyzation of data in order to improve decision making accuracy and implement necessary changes to prevent unexpected variations. During the implementation of organizational change, it is important to have clear, open, and effective way of communication since it plays a huge role in maintaining the harmony and cooperation of the the members of the healthcare organization.
To sum up, Total Quality Management is a potent instrument that enables healthcare companies to align every healthcare worker, every action, and every system with a single objective: to continuously advance the highest quality standards for the benefit of patients and the entire organization. Total Quality Management embraces a comprehensive approach that allows each healthcare professional to take part in the responsibility for the caliber of the work produced. This approach guarantees that organizational processes always produce the best performance that is solely focused on patient satisfaction. Thank you so much for the very informative video about Total Quality Management, I really learned a lot!

This video talks about the 8 principles of total quality management. These are: leadership, customer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making and, manual beneficial supplier approach. These components are regarded as being so crucial to TQM that many organizations describe them in some way as a set of guiding ideals and principles. It is stated in the video that Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management framework based on the belief that an organization can build long-term success by having all its members, from low-level workers to its highest ranking executives, focus on improving quality and, thus, delivering customer satisfaction. The importance of TQM offers a procedure for managing dissatisfied customers, making necessary repairs, and preventing similar reoccurrences in addition to the quality assurance that consumers will receive what they want. There isn't a single approach that works in every setting or workplace when it comes to creating and implementing a whole quality management system or quality management strategy. Every firm has an own culture, management procedures, and methods for producing and delivering its goods and services. While the specifics of quality management strategies differ from organization to organization, a core set of components should always be included. Additionally, it is claimed that TQM has advantages and benefits that can have an impact on your business, including strengthened competitive position, adaptability to new or changing market conditions, as well as to environmental and other governmental regulations, higher productivity, improved market image, elimination of defects, and waste. TQM can be summed up as a management framework for a client-centered business that incorporates all staff members in ongoing development. To incorporate the quality discipline into the organization's culture and activities, it makes use of strategy, data, and effective communications.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management technique that is based on the idea that all employees should continually endeavor to improve their ability to produce products and services that consumers will find particularly useful. Its concepts include leadership, customer focus, process approach, people participation, system approach, continuous improvement, factual decision-making, and mutually beneficial supplier partnerships. These concepts provide the foundation of sound business procedures that assure organization and efficiency. The first critical concept is customer focus, which is a decision-making method that prioritizes the client's requirements, wants, and expectations through proactive involvement and service to achieve customer satisfaction. It is a long-term approach that promotes a culture of great customer connections, which leads to beneficial results such as higher revenue and sales, as well as customer retention. Another important element is the significance of leadership, which focuses on how executives are supposed to act and represent the company by providing a positive example as a role model to its employees.
The leadership principle acts as a measure of consistency that aids in the achievement of an organization's goals via influence and making a difference. The process approach, on the other hand, stresses the appropriate measures executed at the right time. Creating flowcharts, visual action plans, assessing and monitoring existing actions, and reviewing are some of the procedures to minimize expenses, produce high profits, increase customer happiness, and meet corporate goals. Another element to consider is people engagement (manpower), which involves participation, cooperation, and contact among employees in the workplace by providing them a sense of belonging to the firm. It is difficult to fulfill the goals without them, therefore clear and open communication, acknowledgement/recognition, and performance review are required to empower people individually. As a consequence, people become more dependable, assume greater responsibility for their job, and accomplish better outcomes. The systematic approach to management, which is related to the process approach, is a philosophy that establishes the identification, understanding, and execution of a system of interrelated processes for any goals that would boost the efficiency of the business. This is accomplished by providing training, resources, updating equipment, and increasing goods, services, and performance.
While these steps are considered when establishing systems inside the company, processes will be significantly more successful. The other premise is continuous development, which is the practice of continuously enhancing products or services through time to guarantee quality that meets requirements. Further study and assessment are required to obtain fresh updates and expertise that are valuable in generating better services and goods in an ever-changing market, providing the organization an advantage over its competitors. A factual approach to decision-making, on the other hand, is exclusively focused on the logical examination of facts, ensuring that every choice is made with the greatest means accessible, resulting in a greater degree of development throughout the business. In order to reach a judgment, data is collected and evaluated using accurate and trustworthy procedures.
This approach enables the business to make better informed decisions and to revise previous judgments based on data analysis. The last concept highlighted mutually advantageous supplier relationships, in which the business and its suppliers are interconnected, and a mutually beneficial connection improves both parties' ability to produce value, which benefits the consumers as well. Using this supplier relationship method strengthens the potential of stakeholders to produce value for both sides.

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management framework based on the belief that an organization can build long-term success by having all its members, from low-level workers to its highest ranking executives, focus on improving quality and, thus, delivering customer satisfaction. TQM requires organizations to focus on continuous improvement. It focuses on process improvements over the long term, rather than simply emphasizing short-term financial gains. TQM prescribes a series of ways for organizations to accomplish this, with the pathway to successful continuous improvement centered on the use of strategy, data and effective communication to instill a discipline of quality into the organization's culture and processes. More specifically, TQM puts a spotlight on the processes that organizations use to produce their products, and it calls for organizations to define those processes, continuously monitor and measure their performance, and use that performance data to drive improvements. Furthermore, it calls for all employees, as well as all organizational departments, to be part of this process. TQM's objectives are to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies by ensuring that the production process of the organization's product (or service) is done right the first time. This management framework was initially applied to companies in the manufacturing sector, but, over the decades, organizations in other sectors have adopted it, as well.
The video also discussed about the 8 principles of total quality management which are the following: leadership, customer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making and lastly mutual beneficial supplier relationships. TQM also have an important and beneficial effect on employee and organizational development. By having all employees focus on quality management and continuous improvement, companies can establish and uphold cultural values that create long-term success to both customers and the organization itself. TQM’s focus on quality helps identify skills deficiencies in employees, along with the necessary training, education or mentoring to address those deficiencies. With a focus on teamwork, TQM leads to the creation of cross-functional teams and knowledge sharing. The increased communication and coordination across disparate groups deepens institutional knowledge and gives companies more flexibility in deploying personnel. Thanks for this very informative video!

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management technique based on the idea that all “employees continuously improve their ability to provide on-demand products and services that customers will find of particularly value. According to this concept, all the members of an organization contribute towards the improvement of products, processes, and services, thereby improving their working culture. TQM provides the quality assurance that clients will be able to get what they expect and it is also a technique used to ensure that the business is well-organized and efficient. In this video, it was also discussed the 8 principles of Total Quality Management, with its implementation and benefits.
The eight principles of Total Quality Management consists of: (1) Customer Focus, (2) Leadership, (3) Process Approach, (4) People Involvement, (5) System Approach to Management, (6) Continual Improvement, (7) Factual Approach to Decision Making, and (8) Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relations. The first principle is the Customer Focus. I have learned that without customers, an organization or businesses couldn’t exist. To guarantee customer satisfaction, it is crucial to always be aware of and comprehend both the wants and expectations of the clients. In order to better meet the needs and expectations of customers, businesses should work to understand their present and potential customers. Developing strong customer connections has many benefits, including higher market share, improved customer loyalty, and increased revenue. This idea merits special attention because, if you are seen as a company that understands and efficiently addresses customer need, your success is all but guaranteed. You must conduct study; comprehend your customer's wants and expectations in order to be able to use this approach. In addition to this, you must also align your organization’s objectives with customer needs, communicate with the customers effectively and measure satisfaction, and use the result to find ways to improve processes. The next principle that was discussed was Leadership. Being a leader involves inspiring and motivating others to work to their best potential, as well as having the capacity to help a management reach its objectives. Additionally, the leader motivates or inspires followers to put their all into their work and assignments. Another principle that was discussed was the Process Approach. It is a process-driven approach can assist businesses in avoiding logistical issues that frequently result from uncertainty over the best course of action. Following the right process and steps could ensure consistency and speed up production. The company will receive dependable and predictable results in return. A process flowchart could be used to implement the process approach. In this way, everyone within the organization would be able to understand their duties and how they could contribute to the achievement of the organization's goals. The fourth principle discussed in the video was People Involvement. This principle focuses on the total commitment among employees in order to meet the organization’s objectives. Employees that are motivated, devoted, and engaged should always actively seek the objective of achieving customer satisfaction. The fifth principle that was discussed was Systematic Approach to Management. I've discovered that this focuses on the management process itself rather than on the final outcome. Giving the workforce the proper tools and training, enhancing processes and products, and replacing equipment when necessary to achieve goals or to meet objectives are the best ways to put this principle into practice. The next principle was Continual Improvement. Any effective business should always aim to make progress. Any successful organization has a long-term goal of continuous improvement. It is best to be updated with the evolving and changing ways to promote patient care. The next principle that was discussed was the Factual Approach to Decision Making. According to this principle, state that rational decision-making is supported by rational data analysis. Effective and efficient decisions should always be made based on rational analysis of data. Before making any decision, it is best to gather factual data and evidence first to ensure that it is reliable and accurate. The last principle that was discussed was Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relations. It focuses on the organization and its suppliers; where both the company and the supplier can benefit from one another’s resources and know-how resulting in value for all. The best way to create a positive connection with the supplier is through effective communication.
The Total Quality Management can be summed up as a management technique for a customer-focused organization that incorporates all employee in ongoing or continual improvement. It uses data, strategy and effective communications to integrate the quality discipline into the organization's activities and culture.

Improving and enhancing the quality or value of management facilitates effective patient outcome. In terms of the total quality management in nursing, the expansion of knowledge and technology becomes common basis whereas health care system and management performs in acceptable levels for ensuring the safety of the patient and meeting their needs. The goals of this TQM in nursing is to provide health care professionals and patient with sufficient and most current information and care with the foundation of quality improvement fundamentals and providing improvement protocols that will stimulate further the quality management methods being used currently in the health care system. Total quality management (TQM) in nursing effective patient outcome and professional responsibility.

  • @danielleroseconsuegradonal4061

A management strategy known as Total Quality Management (TQM) is founded on the notion that all employees should constantly work to increase their capacity to deliver products and services that consumers will find particularly valuable. Its principles include leadership, customer focus, process approach, involvement of people, system approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision-making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. These principles serve as the cornerstone of strong business practices to ensure organization and efficiency. The first principle that is considered crucial is customer focus, which is a decision-making approach that puts the customer’s needs, wants, and expectations first through proactive interaction and service to achieve customer satisfaction. It's a long-term strategy that fosters a culture dedicated to building strong customer relationships, leading to positive outcomes such as increased revenue and sales, and customer retention. Another principle is about leadership importance which focuses on how leaders are expected to act and represent the business by setting a good example as a role model to its employees and subordinates. The leadership principle serves as a measure of consistency that helps to reach the goal of an organization through influence and making a difference. On the other hand, the process approach emphasizes the proper steps taken at the right time. Creating flowcharts, visual action plans, analyzing and measuring current activities, and evaluating are some of the steps in order to reduce costs, generate high profits, improve customer satisfaction, and achieve organizational goals. People involvement (manpower), another principle to be considered, is one of the keys to success that implies participation, cooperation, and interaction between employees in the workforce by giving them a sense of belonging to the organization. Without them, it is quite impossible to achieve the goals, and the need for clear and open communication, acknowledgment/recognition, and evaluation of performance are needed to empower them individually. As a result, they become more dependable, accept greater responsibility for their work, and achieve better results. Related to the process approach is the systematic approach to management, a principle that establishes the identification, understanding, and implementation of a system of interconnected processes for any goals that will increase the efficiency of the organization. This is attained through training, providing resources, upgrading equipment, and improving products, services, and performance. Processes will be far more effective if these stages are taken into account when developing systems within the organization. The other principle is continual development which is an ongoing process of improving products or services over time to ensure quality that is within the standards. A need for further research and evaluation is necessary to acquire new updates and knowledge that is beneficial in developing better services and products in the ever-changing market, giving the business an edge over the other competitors. Meanwhile, a factual approach to decision-making is solely based on the rational analysis of data which assures that every decision is taken with the best means available, resulting in a higher level of advancement throughout the organization. The data is collected and analyzed through valid and reliable methods in order to arrive at a certain decision. This principle allows the organization to make more informed decisions and the ability to change past decisions based on data review. The last principle emphasized the mutually beneficial supplier relations in which the organization and its supplier are interdependent and a mutually beneficial relationship enhances the ability of both to create value in which the customers benefit to it as well. Utilizing this supplier relationship approach increases the stakeholders' capacity to generate value for both parties.
To summarize what I’ve learned, Total Quality Management (TQM) provides a set of principles on how organizations could achieve sustainable customer satisfaction through continuous improvement. In TQM, all members are involved to improve the processes, products, services, and culture of their workplace. The goals of TQM are to reduce waste and boost productivity by making sure that the organization's product (or service) is produced the first time correctly. Therefore, Total Quality Management (TQM) is now a widely used strategy by modern organizations as a result of increased competition and globalization. People utilize this technique to enhance the market image, ensure improved profit, minimize waste and errors, and improve the design of a product (particularly managers and leaders). They support collaboration and teamwork while most importantly assisting employees in finding purpose in their profession. In the healthcare setting, TQM is used to integrate quality orientation in all processes and procedures in healthcare delivery.
