Boxinng is a joke. They permit this and call themselves a real sport? Call it WWE-Boxing.
To be fair, this is how boxing works. The sanctioning body (athletic comission/federation) overlooks the rules and health of the fighters, the belt organizations run their own rankings for titles, and it's promoters and managers who matchmake.
If a promotion can make a fight happen, and the ruling authority sanctions it, that's it. There's no Dana White of boxing to put a stop to it.

In most states you cannot have an amature fight if your already professional even in different combat sports
Like in Illinois for example if your a pro mma, you have to have your debut fight as a pro if you compete in boxing kickboxing or muay Thai. Exibitions you can have but only as a pro contest. Once your a pro in 1 your a pro from now on.

Maybe it's because boxing judges have been around that sport for a long time, and MMA judges come from boxing and the sport has a newer scoring system that has changes from time-to-time.
