I have been playing clarinet for a long time, and I haven't had to worry about breaking in a new instrument. This is because I have always bought second-hand, vintage clarinets. If you can play-test the instrument before buying it, and the instrument has been serviced, you end up with a good clarinet for less money. Also no break-in concerns.
I can't find the video of how to pick out a good clarinet. Could you please post the link. Thx (and, if it's already on this page - sorry - there's just a myriad of stuff)
@@callyclarinet oh?😯 R13 is considered pro? I thought it's only psuedo-pro. I got it because it's on sale, around 3213$USD, but I saw plently other models more expensive, like prestige, tosca etc....
i am getting back to playing my high school clarinet (not wood ☹️) …i had it fully serviced (pads/cork/etc) & i am slowly reintroducing my embouchure & breath work…wondering if it is ok to keep my instrument together between sessions? (i do remove the mouthpiece) thanks for input & recs for RE-beginner videos
Just bought a bass clarinet. I will use your advice. Thank you.
Two years ago I found a beautiful Selmer Bb clarinet that needed a complete overhaul! She’s been working great with solos and concert band!

Nice, I prefer brand-new for the main Bb clarinet, but I would like to buy a second-hand A key clarinet...seems more sensible =)
Great job !!!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏
Fascinating, even though I have an ABS Resin student clarinet ; )

hi Cally, I played 90 mins on the 5th day, is my clarinet doomed? the other days I played under 30 mins
it'll probably be fine if it was just once. buffet's wood quality and aging process is pretty good on the pro clarinets

It's considered "entry level pro" :-) and is an overall really nice sounding instrument. Sounds like you got a great deal on it!
