I'm glad to see a homemade version of this. I had a friend that had the store bought web gun and it worked, but was frustrating, and expensive for what it was. I had suggested making one but he insisted on buying it. I feel justified years later that we should have just made one.
yes, these you should make!
when we were doing our home haunt we didnt have a compressor and long hoses, I used a small shop vac exhaust port than I reduced the hose down to 1/4inch.. it was a little awkward but OMG the webs!
brilliant!
Best tutorial channel on the web.
best commenter on youtube!
I’m so glad to see these videos back!!!
me too!
So cool! Thank you so much for these videos. I have SO many ideas for projects and get stuff done just because I watch your videos!
Do it! get to work!
I love learning how creative people do things. Thanks for another interesting video, my friend!
thanks for watching. I appreciate your support Jackie.
Oh I love the diagrams
I can’t thank you enough for these videos, I also love the background music
You are awesome
🤘🏻🎃🤘🏻
I love your comments, thanks for watching!
This is extremely cool.
So that's how that's done! Thanks for sharing!
Do it!
I Love this! I was about to buy one but now I can make it!
spend the money on an awesome glue gun- dont buy cheap!
love the effect
its pretty awesome.
I love how you are using a pair of pliers to ream the pipe when your pipe cutter has one 🤣🤣🤣
Im your handsome friend, not your smart friend.
I am SO impressed by the results! Thinking of all the hours I’ve wasted using those bags of webs from the store, just kills me. 🤦🏻♀️
I hate those webs, hate them!
And with a regulator on the line from the compressor, you can adjust the spray as well!
I have the valve for the air regulation, that allows fine adjustment.
@@StiltbeastStudios I love that addition. This is a really great build
This looks like something MacGyver would do. Great job! 😊
if its stupid but works...
This is exactly why you are the master.
only a master of cobwebs Darth.
Better than my idea of encouraging spiders in the house.
if they are in the house that means what they eat is in the house!
Amazing! Really impressed with the output on it, too! One thing I would try if I built this: I would 3D print an adapter that I can attach to the glue gun for the air line to snap into, making it easily swappable without having to zip tie it on.
yeah, like a reusable ziptie! you could use little clips for that actually
TY!!! Always wondered how they made them webs in movies...way kool :)
Thanks for watching!
Very slick! Thank you.
thanks for commenting
This is great! Thanks for sharing!
thanks for watching!
Man this is so cool
This is so awesome!!!
this comment is awesome!
WOW ! Couple of questions (and thank you for responding to every single comment !) 1) What is the estimated total cost so home haunters know (and the box of sticks too) 2) If you took 45 minutes to do that door frame it seems like this tool would not work to web out an entire front yard? Or can the output be modified to really pump out quantities of webbing (and you mentioned easy to remove)? Thanks so much !
A little more than $200 for the gun itself and the boxes of glue are $179 for 300 15" long glue sticks.
It did not take 45 min to do the door frame- the door frame was done in about a minute- if you watch the video there you will see there is little change before and after the cut. I said 45 min cause its so fun to keep webbing.
Wow that is awesome looking. I never knew that you could do that with a glue gun
Glue guns are amazing!
I had to check my calendar to make sure it was truly Sunday 😂....Happy Mothers Day! ❤
spiders are moms right?
😆This has a PERFECT example of the Allen Hopps “do as I say, not as I do” thing in it
😂
yeah....
I like the way you do yours on the outside..was randomly looking around youtube and seen someone make one and I was all ...well..thats a waste hahha. But tada... looked over here and there you are making it smart and work amazing !!
make it good for both!
Wow! Super cool. Thank you for sharing. 😁👍👏👏👏
Thanks Brenda! I hope you are doing well.
@@StiltbeastStudios Thank you. I am well, now. Back to building highways next week. Yay! I hope everybody there is doing well too. Blessings. 😁👍❤
This is awesome!!!
Im glad it was helpful to you
AWESOME tutorial!!!!
awesome comment!
Very cool! Great option for webbing
its my favorite method!
Thank you for posting this. I would much rather know how to make the tool (if possible) than buy it. Freaking Awesome!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and hope it helps you make the best webs!
That is so cool u r a genius
no, I just like to make stuff!
Wow! Thats amazing
its science!
Oh damn thats great def need to make one ....Thanks for sharing HFL!!
you are doing a spider room....
@@StiltbeastStudios this is a fact Sir
I built one years ago. Super easy. I can't emphasize the importance of a good wattage glue gun, the faster it heats your glue sticks the faster you can make webbing. Also, a decent compressor can't hurt. You'll use the air valve to throttle the air flow & you have to find the right angle when bending the end of the copper for where the hot glue comes out (make sure it is after the tip, but not on the tip).
that can take some adjusting but its so worth it.
Perfect!
Perfect comment!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've been putting off buying a good quality web gun due to the cost. Already ordered the glue gun and will be assembling this ASAP. Can you elaborate on how much air pressure is needed to run it correctly?
it depends on a lot of factors but 60psi is a good starting point
Now that is very cool, thanku so much 😎
I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, it means a lot.
@@StiltbeastStudios your very welcome 😁
Awesome!!! New Subscriber, Thank you, great channel 👍
I really appreciate you, thanks for subbing!
Well, that answers a lot of questions. Thank you. How often do you use this, and do the wrbs degrade over time?
they dont really degrade that much- I know we have areas of the haunt that we webbed 10 years ago and they are still fine- people might pull them down but they are pretty good about hanging in there, even out doors
teflon tape on the pipe thread fittings only it is not needed on the compression fittings.
I use it on all my air connections- but the compression fitting is technically a water fitting so you are right.
I couldn't agree more on the quality glue gun statement. Dollar store glue guns are more frustrating that useful. Yeah, they work, but take forever to heat up and they cool off while extruding glue.
indeed! garbage!
I love it great video.
I love it, great comment.
Wow . . . just wow.
good wow? or bad wow?
@@StiltbeastStudios Not good…amazing! They are so realistic looking. You are so inventive.
Freakin Amazing!!!
thanks Ike!
Dis you change the air pressure, raise it, lower it, doesn't make a hill of beans differance. Curious. Nice build
we have 8- psi coming out of the line, so I lowered it with the valve.
I don’t know if this is possible but what if you could should multiple streams of hot glue and use air to weave them around each other, creating a real Spider-Man web shooter.
I’ve played with hot glue strings before, they’re pretty strong for being so thin. I think it could work.
I cant do that for insurance reasons....im sure.
I need that t-shirt!!🤣🙌🏼

Awesome
your face is awesome!
i have a store bought one but I always reach for my homemade one.
Sometime homemade is best! Go Make Stuff so you don’t go buy stuff!
hello! love your content, but is there a certain brand of mask making latex you would recommend? thanks!
I buy from Bity mold supply- but there are many latex supplies- fright-Props is another company that sells it, all depends on where you are and shipping.
@@StiltbeastStudios okay! thank you!
Are there any other glue sticks that work as well or does the Uline have a special chemical make up?
any others work just as well, but Uline are the cheapest and longest.
That would be so amazing to have a glue gun like that one. I can only afford a cheap one from Walmart
while the foam is curing you are correct, dont breathe it in. once its done off gassing (about 2 days) then its ok to wear as the foam is pretty inert.
Oh, so you're one of _those_ people. You know, the people who walk into Home Depot using the exit! ;-)
yeah, cause I pick up my orders right there lol I normally use the contractor entrance.
If you want to bend copper pipes without kinking them, you can fill them with sand
I could, or I could try, kink, cuss, then try again!
I don't have an air hose.. but I've always wanted to make a web gun. Know any good/small air hoses by chance, I live in an apartment.
Harbor Freight has a super quiet pancake air compressor for $80. It will get the job done for this cobweb gun. THey’re also great for tuning 1-2 small animatronics.
Wow great Spider Webbing, thanks for sharing 💀🎃🧟♂️
thank you for commenting!
What compressor did you use? How small/portable can you go?
you want to get 50-60 psi
Fantástico!
Gracias!
Cool!!!
and sticky!
Teflon tap should not be used, Teflon tape is a solid lubricant and not a sealant. You should only use Teflon tape for steal water pips so they don’t rust together.
Great tip!
Yeah dog!!! Sa-weet!
thanks Daddy....that sounded odd.
Haaaa i have a set of wrenches just like that!
so many tools, so many failed attempts at organizing them.
What is the Uline part number for the glue sticks?
www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-13693/Glue-Guns-and-Glue-Sticks/Economy-Glue-Sticks-1-2-x-15-Clear
That's a cool idea... But what about using plastic tubing instead of copper tubing?
the issue is that last 3" the copper really supports itself and takes adjustment
The required PSI may be too much for plastic tubing you get at the hardware store. Unless you have a good compressor with high capacity the hot glue gun for webs is not always the "best" way to go.
@@StiltbeastStudios ok, that makes a lot of sense.
@@JC-ew5ss ok.. thanks jc
Thanks for the shoutout! LOL
Pew Pew Pew!
Pew Pew Pew!!!
Any luck with battery glue gun, my shop doesn't like me to use heat gun, computer, tv and glue gun its sort of creepy light time. my shop was built 100 ft from my house in 1979 and finished it but only ran one circuit for a 20x20 room, yes i know. Its Utah, my breaker box had every wire from 4 decades left in it used or not.
Hmmm I have not checked out too many of the wireless glue guns, but I doubt they would have the oomph to really pump out the glue.
That's pretty cool. I had serious doubts about how effective this was going to be, but I was clearly wrong. Thank you. 👍
I've got one complaint though... Would you please consider using some different background music? Actually, I guess the music itself is fine, but the repetitiveness of this particular track is really unbearable. I'd turn down the volume but that pretty much kills the effectiveness of a tutorial.
we are experimenting with music, this may not be our best lol.
@@StiltbeastStudios Thank you. My right eyebrow, that started twitching halfway through the video, thanks you as well. 😉😁
Thought it was just me. The music is good but annoying when repeated every 5-10 seconds
the sound guy has been kicked.
What was the total cost of this?
about $220 because I used an awesome glue gun- I just cant recommend using a good glue gun enough, most people use cheap glue guns their whole life and really miss out.
Not sure if you take video suggestions here, but Id love it if you could do some sort of materials video where you go over your most frequently used materials and what applications they are best for. Ive learned a lot about different types of foams that you use from different videos, id be interested to also see different paint/sealants/monster mud like stuff etc. Its hard to know which items i want for different projects!
I think you did a comparison video for best preps for plastic and pvc painting, that was very helpful.
I can certainly do that for ya, but I bet it would be more than 1 video
I was watching the show FROM (second season) and they had a forest covered in webs. I was so sure at the time it must have been the "stretchy webs" they use to use decades ago in order to do an entire forest scene and not get in trouble with the land owners (non-toxic) rather than contact cement sprayer. But I forgot about the hot glue gun method. Which do you think they went with if they had them pesky "environmentalist" looking over their shoulder on set?
Id go the hot glue- because I can get pine tar resin hot glue, you are basically spraying sap back on the trees.
Hey doctor please don't have high probability in dangerousism .... !?❤
its pretty safe.
@@StiltbeastStudios
... for value of glue in colors for you is ugual pretty safe ? 💚
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👋🏻👋🏻🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❤️
glad ya liked it!
I LOVE your content and all you do! However, that music is worse to listen to than "Baby Shark."
I will kick my sound guy- we are trying new things and I really do value your feedback.
@@StiltbeastStudios I personally don't mind the music that much, but I struggle with the sound levels. I need to turn up my phone to hear you, but then the music is too loud for me.
we are learning- good to hear from ya!
