My 2019 Chevy 5500 put me out of business. 150k miles of absolute zero problems then had an emissions issues.. The problem was GM had zero parts to fix it. My truck was down 5 months waiting on parts..
I will never buy another GM vehicle..The other issue is they lock a lot of stuff in the computer so you can’t fix it yourself.

I would say there's a reason most ranch, rodeo and hotshot rigs are Ram or Super Duty.

I guess everything will break. I have had 2 Duramax's with a combined milage between the two with over 800k with little to no problems.

My 22 L5P has many upgrades w 148k miles, however I’m just now getting ready to clean my EGR system, otherwise it’s doing great. I have heard GM used some new parts on the 24. I don’t trust any of the 3 brands, had one of each, they are just not made strong enough today which is why I upgraded so many parts on my current Dually

😆😆😆 my duramax in my 5500 has over 300k and I’m still not afraid to go anywhere in it. I’ve had 3 different powerstrokes, and loved them, but they were broke more than the dmax ever has. Maybe it a maintenance issue?

Get the Cummins engines and put them in the best working truck, then you would have perfect hot shot trucks, super duty 550 s are good, thanks BigAl California.

There is a reason why most trucks pulling a rv or hotshot rigs are rams they are the best most after market parts for them they are reliable and easy to work on!
Ford uses cp4 pump and are hard to work on and over priced

In transport, freedom must be purchased. The opposite is also true. Let me say that differently, freedom can not be earned. It can not be bought. It’s both or die. Money can’t buy effort and effort can’t buy money. If purpose and intentionality ain’t present…🤷🏻‍♂️
The wrong thang and the right time is still the wrong thang.

Don't buy anything new enough to require DEF. I bought my 2010 Peterbilt because it's the last year without DEF. And of course, I ran my 7.3 Powerstrokes before that...

  • @BrandonLeech

Anything past 18 on the Rams, 19 on the Ford is a bad idea. Not sure on the GM trucks. L5P came out in 2017 was pretty solid. Real Allisons left the chat in 2020 so probably 2019 on those too. Then the Covid supply chain shocks hit and the junk parts became a problem. Buying new used to be the safer way to go but now that isn't the case. It's a bigger money gamble on unreliable garbage they wont have the parts to fix. Might as well buy one 4-5 years old and pay half as much. It frustrating. Looking for the perfect truck is like trying to find the perfect house or perfect woman. There aren't many unicorns out there.

Had a 21’ 3500 Sierra and had injector issues twice within its first 24k miles, sold it back to dealer and went a 2022 RAM 5500. No issues at all within its 107k miles and counting

    • @BrandonLeech
      @BrandonLeech Před měsícem

Luck of the draw I guess. I know a guy who had terrible luck with several 22 rams he bought as company rigs. Valvetrains went bad because of those hydraulic lifters. Prior to 19 that was never an issue.

The dodge is on trans #2 & having regen issues & the 22 ford has blown the intake out twice & he's starting to have regen issues were all 2021s & range from 120k to 150k. My chevy has had an injector plug failure once & one Knox sensor. Bad things happen

Just incase you dont know. Ram trucks with the Aisin will be your only choice in the end. The Chevys do great for normal driving but wont hold up to hotshotting no matter what the year is. Ask me how I know. I was a die hard Chevy guy who now only run Ram trucks. The Fords have oiling issues and Ford has designed them to make it through warrenty and most of them need new motors somewhere between 100k to 135k miles. The oiling system is atrocious on the 6.7 and the engines eat themselves no sooner than the warrenty runs out. Dont take my word for it. Do some research. Cant believe noone has told you that you have made some bad investments. Hopefully this helps and you can get them gone before they take you under. I started my Llc 5 years ago and didnt listen to people when they told me to get a Ram. I bought a Chevy. By the end of the year I had a Ram and will never look back. By far the only true work truck on the road. Check out PD Diesel. Good guy. Knows the business better than most. Goodluck to you.

Late model Chevy's are junk. friend had a '20 fuel pump MODULE go out and dealer told him that it would be 6-8 weeks (may be) before they's have 1. He ended up trading it in to another close-by Chevy dealer as it was because he had to have a truck. within 48 hours it was fixed and detailed and on their lot for sale! (Dirty SOB'S)

With Stellantis overpricing RAM you took the gamble to buy the better priced GM. Well, GM is still GM and has not been the hotshot truck of choice for a reason. Seems there is only one Hotshot truck company which is Ford.
