I find this song absolutely captivating. Gives me goose bumps every time. It's also what I find the most ambiguous. There's the theory that it's directed at Kiara, people saying it's directed at her audience, a middle ground of the two, something completely different. This is the song I want to hear more about the most. Going off TLs of the JP lyrics and certain remarks in the English parts, whilst I'm not confident at all that this is solely about Kiara, I think it is highly ambiguous and I'm 100% sure she knew that it would be ambiguous writing and releasing it. Along with Red and even more so, it's definitely much more on the deeper meaning side of things with highly symbolical lyrics. I really hope this is one of the songs that get a full MV.

Empress, the fifth song of the EP, is -as of yet unreleased- CD exclusive.
People are theorizing Bully is about Kiara.
They had some real heart to heart during their Hokkaido trip and before - and it sounds like Kiara managed to really dig into her and get her to open up.
Yet after Kiara returned home Calli was pretty upset and sad about something so much so that people noticed it on stream. But it was Kiara who almost needed to force herself onto her so they'd talk. And Calli felt better after they did.
Even in today's birthday stream Kiara told Calli to take a breather and that she is there for her, both in her birthday song and when she said goodbye.
If the song is indeed about Kiara the thing Calli is so regretful about might be her pushing people away from her over and over, yet Kiara always comes back and stays by her side (figuretively for now).
Also the imagery of killing someone over and over and all the fire in the song fit their reaper and phoenix characters.
Calli said two more songs of her EP will get music videos and I hope Bully is one of them.

I think thats way to specific but its close. (since the comment reads like fanfiction)
It probably both. It talks about her past and her work. About feeding of hate towards certain groups of people and all that. After all it wasn't always that she liked idols. If I were to make the same argument then it would be that Cali talked about how much she didn't like idols in the past until she meet one of her friends that was one and realized she was wrong in her mindset and the past songs she posted about the,. I mean her old songs are of the aggressive type that attack certain demographics and such.

Hey Roar, great breakdown as always! Just wanted to share my thoughts on who this song might be referring to, since, as you said, that part seemed open to interpretation.
My personal theory is that the other "person" in this song who has continued giving her love and support despite her bullying is not actually a person at all but her audience/followers. She's said before that when she started VTubing, she expected nothing but haters, and some of the songs in her first EP reflect that attitude (which might be the "bullying" she claims she's done). When she started off she had a hard time accepting just how much support she was getting, especially people giving her large donations or even professing love to her in chat - it even got to the point where she cried on stream a couple times. She's said that starting off, she felt undeserving and it took her a while to accept people's kindness and learn to just say "thank you". But even then, some people still send her donation messages along the lines of "skipping meals to save the money to send you this" which I can tell still bothers her.
This song almost sounds like she's still feeling some guilt: so many people give her love and support, yet she has so many fans that it's extremely difficult for her to return the kindness to every individual fan. Nevertheless, knowing that they won't get much in return, her fans continue to give her unrequited love, sometimes even putting her above themselves. And perhaps this has left her feeling sometimes like she's selfishly thriving off other people's love and support. At the end of the song, I think her decision to "give you fire" means that despite her feelings of guilt, she'll keep producing her content if that's what people love. But "love the me that's killing you" - she'll accept her fans' love, but she wants them to be aware of just how far they sometimes are going for her.
EDIT: Well, it was a decent attempt and fun to think about, but a real same my theory was pretty far off from what Calli ended up saying the song was about in her lyric dive stream. Although hey ROAR, she did give a shout out to you in that stream and say she likes when other folks like you try to give their own interpretations of her songs, so maybe my theory still has some degree of validity as well. These are fun - I'll try to leave some more comments on your reactions to future Calliope songs!

I think this song is about the parasocial relationship between vtubers/content creators in general and their viewers.
Crying and begging, a lovely sound
I tear at your soul, but you still stick around
What I've found is a treasure indeed
A friend who can bend to my every need
I'll use and abuse you and never feel bad, until suddenly, funnily, you take my hand
Tangle you tight in the yarns that I've spun
And I'll do it again to get what I want
Pretend that I'm harmless, I'm actually alarmed this is something charming to anyone (wow)
The fact can actually make death want to die
I'm the one that you love, and I'm making you cry
And it's just me after all
It's about how she's begging for the money, superchats, donations- she's not able to be there for people, she isn't their friend because she physically cannot.
The chat and the viewers bend to her every need, and she uses them, playing up her character for the money and for the donations- never feeling bad until she catches a glimpse of how much she means to people through the chats that she reads. She basically never breaks character outside of song- that it's all pretend and sometimes she struggles with the fact that she has to turn down all these people who are so exceedingly into this idea of her, hurting them over and over but they still stick around. She's just a woman, just another person, not someone worth loving without a chance in hell.
When the curtains finally close, and the show's really over
If you glance into my past, it's just nothing new
    Lying, conniving, thriving on hate
I'll tell you it was all for you
I think this means, just a relation between her other persona, y'know who-- when the curtain falls on Calliope Mori as a character, the show is REALLY over, you could look at her archives and find that it's much the same. She plays this character, insulting the antis, the haters, thriving off of snappy comebacks and hardcore roasts- telling the viewers that all of it was for their sake.
I think a lot of people have latched onto the idea that it's Takamori because they don't want to talk about that kind of thing, the parasitic nature of streamers and entertainers, but really I can't see it being about Takamori- while there's some symbolism that could connect, I think the whole song just works so much better as an allegory about this, about her telling her audience that "You know, I want you to care that I want you to stay, So I swear I won't blame you if you turn away." That she wants them to stay, she needs them, but she wants people to put themselves first and stop watching her if she's hurting them. Takamori is rocky, but that's only an act. In reality, Kiara and Calli are (probably) just good friends, and there's none of this inherent negativity that comes through this song.
"And I'll say it again, that I know I'm the worst
So then how can you spend so much love on the person that hurts you
    Like I do
'Cause inside I can't hide that I cannot desert you!
And if I'm the world to you, surely you never stood even a chance at all, didn't you?"
How can you spend so much love on the person that hurts you-- keyword I suppose being spend. Imagine all the people who donate red superchats each stream, hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent on someone who "you never stood even a chance at all" with. She can't say it outright, not anymore, she's an idol working for COVER Corp. She can't desert them, she can't leave them, but on the inside she yearns to tell people some of these things which she can only say through metaphor and song.
This is a bit messy, I'm tired, but I feel passionately about this interpretation lol

I really like Calli´s music as well as the life lessons she teaches. That if something´s worth it then you need to fight for it and that sometimes life is gonna bring you down but you need to keep going. Now the lesson i get from this is that even if you think you´re the worst you are better than what you think of yourself and if someone loves you then don´t feel bad about reciprocating that.

I know that Calli already told us the story behind the songs in one of her stream... I wasn't there, but... Upon reading the Lyrics of Bully, I don't think that it's meant for Tenchou... it may seem like it at first, but it's not! Bully refers to Calli herself... We Dead Beats are the ones getting bullied, why? Because of the SCs and support thay we've given her. Calli never expected to receive such affection in the beginning, she's said it during the Trash Taste Podcast. Calli had the worst debut out of the HoloEN girls, her stream shows off her lack of experience, her set up sucks, she lagged... Her first ever stream was awful for her, she already expected to receive hate from us, she's prepared for it... Still, her expectations were shattered!!! We LOVE her. Dead Beats gave her the means to sustain her living and other endeavors, but she can never repay us for all of it, thus... She feels like she bullying us by taking away part of our "Souls" (Money/SC, time, affection, etc.) things that Calli can never return to us.
    ...
    ...
    ...
This song is very heavy and self loathing (for Calli), well... IMO, Calli can't do anything about that... VTubing culture is just Simping for us viewers... Us Weebs will do anything and everything to support our WAIFU, it doesn't matter Who, doesn't matter How, doesn't matter Why... It just doesn't matter!!! You may think to yourself, Calli, that you're not doing anything for us... But, truth is... Just being there, simply allowing us to SIMP, allowing us to call yoy "Dad", allowing us to throw out SC, allowing us to see you SUCK at games, allowing us to hear you sing and rap... By just existing!!! Just that... Is enough to most of us. Don't mind us, it's not Bullying. Now, just go on.

Sometimes the same person spends hundreds of dollars on her every week. The one and only thing I have to say is "wrong" with this song is that I feel like her voice is too quiet in comparison to the music in some parts, making it a little hard to hear what she's saying; like at 3:38. Not a big complaint, I absolutely love the song otherwise

Calli has talked about being a waitress before, so maybe she feels like she’s lying and deceiving people by putting on a mask and acting for the sake of her career?

She’s definitely talked about that too. There is some level of embellishment when you have a character you play online, as well as withholding who you really are. And she’s talked about how frustrating that is.

So it means Kiara is there for Calli?

She was saying in her lyrics breakdown that it applied to many relationships. She’s very closed off to people, and her fans, friends in Hololive, etc, have all been those forces that continue to love her regardless.
