Thanks for the reply. The soloazation has been fixed according to shopjimmy. The issue is I am still getting a black screen. I don't think its the inverter bc I'm getting backlight. A lot, including shopjimmy say its the main board. But they don't repair and its hard to find. Do u repair mainboards?
Did I hear you correctly - If I had a bad firmware update I can do the factory default and then give it a different firmware?
Because if I do the factory reset in the normal sony menue it obviously does not reset the firmware so i can't put an older version on there like that.

Tampatec-Please help-I put in a new t-con board in my Sony KDL-75w850c, following your videos, when I turned the set back on, The picture came on for a second and went off but it still has a green light. thanks Tony

Hi I have the XDL-40XBR3 TV, green light but no video or sound, I wanted to try the factory reset but my remote doesn't have a display button, just set, input, then the tv, cable, etc selections. tried no power for 24 hours, same thing. I figured its the power supply but I wanted to give the reset a shot if I could, thanks

Have Sony KV34h510 flat screen about 9 yrs old. We started having a problem with it going into standby mode. The cable co. sent a signal and it fixed the problem temporarily. I watched several of your videos & opened the back. Everything is covered in dust bunnies, I'm going to vacuum it out. I inspected the capacitors & they seem to be OK. There is a black rubbery substance under a big cap(?) & another looks like it split. These are about 1/2" around & 1" tall. I have Sony's tech#'s any ideas?
Hey, the home button (altho green indicator light was flashing) didn't work anymore. Home button on the remote as well as the button on the TV did not pull up any menu anymore. Tried to factory reset the TV (Bravia KDL-46W4220) by doing the arrow up /power button procedure several times without any reset action preformed by the television. So I found this video and decided to try to reset it from within the service mode. After entering the service mode I was able to scroll down (without changing any settings) for a few seconds. Then TV went into some sort of "burn in" mode (alternating from green, red, blue to a striped "test picture". Now I can't exit the service mode or anything else. Any ideas or remedy you can think of?

I have a small blue area at bottom middle of my screen. Not real bad, just aggravating...can this be adjusted out or is something failing. I did just replace lamp and tv brightness is super. Yes I checked all tcon connectionts over 20+ times,. I called shopjimmy and they said they tested the tcon board on another model tv same as mine and the tcon board worked and solorazation was fixed. They also said my issue is the main board for the black . Do u know of any way to test capacitors, what readings they should read? Someone said anywhere from 4-7? Do u know which chip on the main board I should test for video signal? Again, thanks for the replies and any suggestions you can give me ! I'm looking at making some sort of move fast as currently I'm borrowing someones tv and need to give it back asap lol. Thanks!

Thank you for all the great videos! Searched high and low w no luck. I have a Sony KDL40v5100. When turned on it displays BRAVIA for a couple seconds then nothing. no pic. Also when it is off, there is no standby light on at all. No codes.. What do you suspect? i got a 22inch Bravia and few months back brings me a problem that when it turns on instead of turning on green turns the timer light on. I managed to get the green but is about like messing with the power plug-it in and out till it turns on. It's really anoying. I live here in Tampa, Fl and I own a Bravia -KDL-40SL140. Originally my tv started with the solorization issue. The color would come back to normal in abt 45 min or so. Finally 6 months later I woke up one morning and I had a black screen. I couldn't dind a replacememt TCON so I used shopjimmy and had it repaired. It came back but same black screen...sound, just no display. Invertor seems good, I have back light. I read a lot and it ays its the main board. I cannot seem to find a main board now. I saw 1 a couple weeks ago on ebay but it gone. Is there anyway to have the mainboardd fixed? Shopjimmy said they don't do that. I did find one at sears direcr for .$241.49 and sony 219.32. Seems a little steep when I could of gottten it on ebay for 68.00. Any help or advice my man?
usually its tcon if you had solorize screen, but before buying $250 main video board check all tcon connections.
I put in a new t-con board after it tested bad and now my picture turns on for ust a second and back to the black screen, did you find out what the problem was,thanks Tony from Calif

Something is different with my service menu now. I did this and it just came up with a bunch of letters and numbers that don't mean anything to me. But when I've done this in the past I was able to see the amount of hours the tv was on, the amount of times the tv has been turned on, etc. now I cant get back to that menu.

I had success getting to the 'factory setting' page, but I could not click on the factory setting button. As if the screen was frozen. This is absolute madness that this tv is so hard to use.. Hi. I just replaced the main board in my Sony TV (KDL-46S4100) after the backlight wouldn't come on. The backlight now turns on, but I get some sort of repeating test pattern onscreen and no picture (all-green screen, followed by all-blue, all-red, then horizontal stripes of green, red, blue, and white). The main board doesn't have the original part num, but I was told by ShopJimmy that it's a suitable replacement. Any ideas?

Yeah, that didn't work. I tried the service code you used, but that didn't work, either. There's no firmware available on Sony's site, so I'm thinking a main board exchange may be in order.

I use Sony my Bravia 26U3000. When I got to know about the secret code and used it to change my HDMI settings something went wrong and the TV seems to be unresponsively permanent in the hotel mode with a caption of error menu. Any way out please?
