    Great video. I used to like visiting Woolworth's, and my aunt worked as a cashier in one.

    Still remember their store brand of audio and video tapes, Silver Shadow. We used to call it Silver Shower because the tapes would shed their coating if you dared use one. Extremely poor quality, and that's what Woolworth ended up known for at the end. They weren't even the cheapest by then. Just poor goods and regular prices. Kmart was miles better at that time. Ironically, one of the last Woolworths in my area was in the same mall where one of the first prototype stores opened for what became DollarTree, perhaps the modern incarnation of the five and dime model. That prototype store occupied a small innocent space with decent goods far better than they are known for now, and far better than the Woolworth down the way. It didn't occur to me at the time to wonder how or why Woolworths had a place when this new concept prototype dollar store was better. And then Woolworths was gone.

    That would kick so much ass if Woolworths came back this year!!!!!!! And I had no idea they still had stores open in Mexico, that's really cool :)

    Would love to eventually see H.L. Green. Loved that store when I was a kid. My first Star Wars figure was bought at H.L. Green.

    I've been to Australia and they have an (apparently unrelated) supermarket chain called Woolworth's.

    Technically speaking, the Woolworth Company still exists. They have been renamed after their most successful division - Foot Locker.

    Great Video! We still have Woolworth in Germany, not in every City, but there’s one in my hometown and it’s been there since the late seventies. Red letters, same Font, I think they’re related. Nowadays it’s more of a dollar store.
    Still great memories of my childhood buying toys with my grandma.

      I’d love to. Same for Sears. My only stipulation is for them to be completely defunct before I make a video on them. Doesn’t seem like you’ll have to wait long lol

      @Hammster69official Před rokem

      @@PostMortar In the case of Sears, that may well be true. However, JC Penney will last awhile longer, since they were literally bought by The Mall (Simon and Brookfield).
