  • In this video, Tom Bradford will address a Biblical Account of Genesis 9 and Genesis 10.
This account will also be centered on Ham's sin, as one of the most puzzling stories in the whole Bible. Ham sees his father asleep lying naked, after having drank wine. Ham then goes and tells his brothers about Noah's drunkenness.
Noah was then angry about his own son, and pronounces a curse on him. Why was the reason for Noah to be so angry?
Follow us in this Bible teaching on Genesis 9 and Genesis 10.

My new brother, Tom, I am an old geezer. But, the more I learn and enjoy, and discover in GOD's WORD, the hungrier I get for more. I have spent years and years in Bible Studies that just sailed through the first book of Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Mathew Chapter 1, Luke Chapter 3, and several others, including the last eight chapters of Ezekial. Now that I have an ear to hear, I pay special attention to Chapters like Genesis 10, Numbers, Leviticus & Job & Proverbs because I am interested, enlightened & blessed by a new understanding! You never know how the Holy Spirit will use you my brother!

      Absolutely correct! ✔️💯
The 2 brothers quickly help their father to get off the drink ( alcoholism is a terrible long illness) and Noah needs to actually understand the CRIME of what Ham and his mother have done, BEFORE the baby is born and hidden in plain site with Hams wife!
The brothers cover their backs by NOT going along with HAM'S plan!!
INCEST has brought in the CURSE of a corrupted seed of illnesses and disfigurement within this poor child: as we also see today in various religious groups within Asia!
Dwarfism: Poison blood: Disfigurement of extra limbs are just a few known cases associated with incestual relations .....
The Facts speak for themselves: the Godhead KALI is worshiped by the Hindu sect and is also shown to have blue/ blackish skin with many arms, and a long red tongue........wearing many flowers, similar to a funeral of the dead!
Anyone known to have Blue blood within western society: is either royalty ( keeping themselves within a frame of who is safe to marry) or sadly a dead child!
Ham's son Kush was known to start Child sacrifice and his son Nimrod shares HIS MOTHER and breeds TAMMUZ: who dies and is worshiped in a red cloak and hat.......(Santa claws) in plain sight!
Blessing ❤ to everyone who understands the seriousness of what God is telling us!

Mary was put aside from birth for that day.
Our true Most High Creator would Never do that to anyone let alone a child.
2nd Enoch 20:3 is his Dwelling and Name. He arrives in less than a year for judgment day. Enoch returned in 2017. He is our Righteous Judge on Judgement Day. Salvation is ours alone. "No man shall die for another man's wages". Nor a father for a son or a son for the father.

This is 100% the correct interpretation of the text. The first rule of good hermeneutics is Scripture interprets Scripture. The gentleman in this video, while I'm sure well intentioned, admits that he went outside of Scripture to "Jewish sages" to get his interpretation of the text. When we go outside of what the Bible says and rely on traditions of men above the Word of God we find ourselves falling into all kinds of error. Moses tells us what Ham's sin was, it was sleeping with his mother which clearly explains why Canaan was cursed, he was the product of that incestuous relationship.
We also see later in Scripture in the book of 1 kings where Solomon's brother Adonijah tries to marry David's concubine Abishag and thereby usurp the throne through this treachery. Solomon had him put to death for this treason. This seems to be exactly what Ham was attempting to do in this situation, usurp Noah's authority as the king of the world. We see this struggle for power continue in Ham's descendant Nimrod.

You laid that out very well, and it's true. However, personal ownership is not popular right now, which is the basic requirement for Christianity. If you have money, it's easier to pay a false prophet to forgive, rather than to change. That's why a lot of mafia and cartel types are religious. I think they have guilt. They are hooked on the money, and no one gets out. Osteen doesn't mention repentance. He won't even use the word. We have to repent all the time. It's humiliating. We lean toward sin in a slanted world. There is real forgiveness in Christ, but we have to own our deeds and become disciplined about God. It's the good fight. I wish I could hail Mary some things away. I trust that gives us strength to change, if we pursue Him. You drink, watch porn, eat too many twinkys, stand by the time clock for a minute to get an extra six minutes, you put your hand in the till. You kissed someone you should not have. You don't have to confess it to the world or the Pope. Bring it to Jesus, and take steps to change.

      @Coco762011 Před 7 měsíci +3

Christ Jesus and Him alone is our intercessor, our High Priest. Not a minister, not a Pope, not the Hail Marys. To preach otherwise is a heresy, and a great dishonour to God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and Christ Jesus our Messiah, Redeemer, and High Priest forever. (Hebrews 6:8-10, 9:24, 10:10; Romans 8:27)
Christ’s death in our place, His burial and resurrection is a finished work that no one can add to or subtract from. His resurrection from the grave is our receipt that Christ has paid the heavy price of our redemption that is fully accepted by the just and righteous Judge.
Any attempt to add to His finished work is religiosity and pretentiousness - no less a form of idol-worship of man’s prideful work to save himself. Galatians 3:10-15

Canaan was cursed to be a servant to his brethren. His brothers names are mentioned, but aren't those named supposed to be his 'uncles'? This proves Ham's sin was incent, not homosexual rape as racists used to enslave Africans and steal land! Ham is the star of Genesis 9. Read Leviticus 18:8 & 20:11 to understand what is the nakedness of the father. If a kin lies with a man's wife, this is called the nakedness of the father. Sounds to me like Ham had sex with his mother while Noah was drunk with wine. Noah knew what his son had done because his wife, or sons told him. Canaan received a curse by Noah. Could Canaan have been the bastard son of Ham and his mother? 🤔

    Getting The Facts Straight
Scripture tells us that Noah had seventeen grandsons. And from their names we have a pretty good - if not perfect - idea which nations developed from which grandchildren. Four of those grandchildren were Ham’s four sons: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan (Genesis 10:6). The Canaanites settled in the Middle East. They appear frequently in the Old Testament of the Bible. For the most part they have dissolved into other nations or died out. Egypt is even more obvious. For it is a nation that appears often in scripture and is still present today. There is no record of a biblical curse put on the descendants of Cush or the nations of Africa.
In biblical Hebrew, the name ‘Cush’ seems to mean ‘Ethiopian’ or ‘blackness’. Black African nations seemingly developed from the offspring of Cush. But that is exactly where the so-called curse of Ham is misapplied. The curse never fell on Ham or on Cush. For whatever reason, not truly given in the text, it fell on Canaan. In Genesis 9:25 Noah pours out his anger, ‘Cursed be Canaan!’ There is no record of a biblical curse put on the descendants of Cush or the nations of Africa.

    • @jimlee6528

This man’s assessment of world history is limited to contemporary history and too narrow in its conclusions! There are Ethiopians who are recognized by Israel as Jews… what do you do with them? His narrative is too simplistic and invalidates what the Bible says, the curse, for whatever reason was “specifically” directed to Caan period. To generalize it to the entire genetic line of Ham is intellectual dishonest and makes God appear capricious

I think a present day and immediately evident reason having your child/lineage cursed instead of oneself is such a huge deterrent to sinning is this: Say you’re tempted to commit a crime (for whatever reason you’ve convinced yourself it’s okay to do), but if you knew your beloved children would be the ones whom the judge would sentence instead for your misdeeds, wouldn’t you be much less likely to commit the crime? Would Ham have still done this if he knew the outcome? Laws and rules prevent the negative impacts on society and families that sin and crime create. Thinking about the effects your behavior will have on your children has hopefully stopped many people from breaking the law, both God’s and man’s.

    Noah did not curse Ham.
    Noah cursed Ham's son Canaan.
Noah's son, Ham, exposed his FATHER'S NAKEDNESS, hence Shem and Japheth walking into their father's tent backwards in order to cover their FATHER'S NAKEDNESS.
The instructions that we've received from the Torah states:
    4. You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God.
    5. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.
    6. 'None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the Lord.
    7. The NAKEDNESS OF YOUR FATHER or the nakedness of your mother you shall not uncover. SHE IS YOUR MOTHER; you shall not uncover her nakedness.
    8. The nakedness of your father's wife you shall not uncover; IT IS YOUR FATHER'S NAKEDNESS.
    (VaYikrah 18:4-8)

It was cool to have another item to tie the priesthood to - ultimately ending with our High priest from the line of Judah, in the order of Melchizedek! You said Jesus is the exact opposite of satan? If you study further you'll discover that it's maternal incest. Canaan was cursed bc it's the offspring of Ham and his mother which is Noah's wife. And that is something you should never do bc it dishonors the husband. Because it is explain lned that the body of a husband and wife is one holy body. So having sex with one is also seeing the naked body of the their partner. So Ham was shaming his father by sleeping with his wife and getting her pregnant.

I think we need to cut Noah some slack here. He spent 120 years building the ark and everyone mocked him and laughed at him until the rain started the people cried out to Noah. Noah could not open the doors to the ark; because, God locked the doors, Noah could not unlock them.
Don't you know he heard the screams of the people he knew as they drowned? Don't you the know they were begging and pleading with Noah to please open the door and let them in, if not them at least their children..
I'm certain Noah had to get drunk to drown out the sounds of his friends, neighbors and extended family members begging for him to open the ark doors.
Talk about PTSD here. No, I'll not chastise Noah for getting snot slinging drunk. I would have probably done the same thing.

In Genesis chapter 3, God cursed the Serpent and God cursed the ground. Adam and Eve were not cursed, but instead reaped the consequences of their actions. The consequences of the knowledge they gained from the tree was sorrow in the world outside of Eden and death. Both of which are paradoxically blessings. Outside of Eden they can now have children, and a family. The most difficult and at the same time rewarding experience available to humans. God prepares and protects them with a coat HE, himself makes. Death is another blessing He provides to them… their chance to return to Him. And of course in Jesus’s sacrifice, He has provided every means of success in this world for eternal salvation. God’s plan for our salvation began in Eden.

God knew that the new nations would have need of basic things like food, shelter, and clothing. Ham and his descendants developed the systems that caused all of Noah's descendants to be fruitful and to multiply. Mathematics, agriculture, animal husbandry and much more came from Ham. This would explain the severity of the curse. Living in close proximity to others it is not farfetched to think seeing someone naked accidentally would not be infrequent. Lev 18:7 describes very clearly what the very phrase "the nakedness of your father" is. Could Canaan have been the son of Ham and Noah's wife?

With all do respect, Canaan was the product of incest beteeen Ham and Noah's wife, his mother. By sound exegesis of Scripture interpreting Scripture, the passages Leviticus 18:7 and 21:11 will explain perfectly Genesis 9. Leviticus 18:7 says:"You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, that is, the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother; you are not to uncover her nakedness." Verses 8-17 also deal with various other violations of this statute of "not uncovering the nakedness of..." Leviticus 20:11 states, "If there is a man who lies with his father's wife, he has uncovered his father's nakedness;...." Deuteronomy 27:20 pronounces a curse on a man who lies with his father's wife because he has uncovered his father's skirt. Genesis 9: 22-24 states Ham saw the nakedness of his father and then told his brothers, who were careful not to see it. Verses 24-27 seemed to be in the near future, a compression of time, after Canaan was born. Remember its emphatic because its stated twice in verses 18 and 22 that Ham was the father of Canaan. Why state that fact first? It is likely cause of the events of the next verses. Theres no mystery to what really happened with Ham.He took advantage of of his father and mother in a vulnerable state. There is a question that he even raped his mother. Incestuous progeny are never God's best...Canaan, Ammon and Moab.

    The Curse Was Upon Canaan
From a sermon by Elder J.C. Stanaland
Genesis 9:21-27 (The sin that brought about the curse)
    Genesis 10:15-18 (Descendants of Canaan)
Exodus 33:2 (Over and over again God mentions that the Israelites would drive out these people)
Joshua 9:23-“Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.” (The Hivites had beguiled Joshua and his army)

Joshua 10:8-“And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.” (God is saying that He is the author of that curse and it has come to pass)
The Hivites were descendants of Ham and Canaan. The curse would not come upon Ham or even the man Canaan but upon his descendants the Canaanites. The Canaanites were to be “a servant of servants” as they served Israel throughout history but Israel was under the rule of many nations throughout history. We see this truth today given the fact that Israel is still dependent on other nations to supply their military and economy (i.e. the United States and the United Kingdom). The curse was not on Ham, but Canaan. The curse was not implemented for many hundreds of years from Genesis 9:25 to the results of Joshua 10:8. The curse has nothing to do with the texture of someone’s hair or that blacks are inferior in any way because of a curse. As far as intermarriage the only stipulation that God has is that both are believers. We are not to be “unequally yoked together with unbelievers” (2nd Corinthians 6:14). Therefore there is no stipulation against blacks and whites marrying each other or any other mixture of ethnicities in marriage just as long as both are believers.

What about the appearance of Paul causing him to be mistaken for an “Egyptian” in the New Testament (Acts 21:38)? Also, consider the pictorial icons that have resurfaced from Russia showing the Judah-ites as visibly African in appearance? This makes one think differently about the descendants of Noah’s three sons.

@@christopherrodarte9822 The "experts"" I've heard mention Ham as the perpetrator, not Canaan. They also assume the sin is that Ham saw his father naked but did not cover him. If you look at the Scripture as saying Canaan committed a crime against Noah, then Ham is showing evidence to his brothers of what his son Canaan had done. Ham isn't the one who sinned, but he is the father of Canaan.

Leviticus 20:11 "And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
This verse deals with the man that has sex with his father's wife which is uncovering his father's nakedness. Those caught in this act requires that both the man and his the woman be put to death. The first part where this act showed up in the bible was in Genesis 9:22 "And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without." Canaan was the child born out of that cursed act of "uncovering his father's nakedness"; between Ham, the son of Noah, and Noah's wife, Ham's Mother.

Why all the emphasis on the first born? Perhaps it is an example that Christ is the first born among many brothers. He deserves the greatest blessing. He calls us brothers even though He is a King, God, High Priest, Creator and we bow down to worship Him. God teaches by example throughout the Bible.

As the bereaved Christian’s were commended for studying the word taught I too researched and found…. The story's original purpose may have been to justify the biblical subjection of the Canaanites to the Israelites,[4] or a land claim to a portion of New Kingdom of Egypt which ruled Canaan in the late bronze age.[5][6]
In later centuries, the narrative was interpreted by some Jews, Christians and Muslims as an explanation for black skin, as well as a justification for enslavement of black people.[7][8] Similarly, some in the Latter Day Saint movement used the curse of Ham to prevent the ordination of black men to its priesthood.[9][10]
Nevertheless, most Christians, and Jews now disagree with such interpretations, because in the biblical text, Ham himself is not cursed, and neither race nor skin color are ever mentioned….
While the teaching may be accurate the subtle introduction of a picture with sons with 3 colour tones is definitely not in the bible and has been added by the teacher with their pictures of the African race. However everyone knows that Keenan also known as Canaan are actually Arabs

If Canaan was Egyptian why did the the teacher use images of Africans instead of Egyptians ? Also it’s not true that Egypt (staying with the story and not diverting) never thrived ….. in fact it was to Egypt that many times the Israelites would go for succour …and even the romans never appeared to conquer Egypt but saw them as allies ….each continent has had a time to rule the world … once Egypt …Greece…Rome…Britain …America … it is best to teach what is clearly written in Gods word, what the word states without adding to it. It is also not true that the continent lacks natural resources in fact it has an a dunce of natural resources …God bless you for taking the time to study. focusing on what the word actually says is very important

There is no curse of Ham. The text, specifically, says 'cursed be Canaan'. Therefore, the premise is in error. Also, Noah is not the new Adam. Christ is The second Adam. Also, this teaching implies something that the text does not say. The scripture says that a curse without a cause cannot come. Why, then, doesn't Noah curse Ham as the law would require?

@FlowerSofie While I don't have proof, I think Canaan could possibly be the product of Ham and Noah's wife. His father's nakedness is sometimes interpreted as sex with the father's wife as in Levitical laws against it. Noah woke from hus drunkenness and knew what Ham did. Noah has no more records of having other sons and daughters with his wife even though he lives more years after that and was given the mandate to be fruitful and multiply. The first mention of Canaan is on the ark as Ham's son. It's in parenthesis. Many times in the Bible I've noticed questionable or scandalous details in parenthesis that scribes have you paying attention to.

Leviticus 17:7 & 8 expresses the euphemism of uncovering a father’s nakedness in very clear terms.
7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.
Canaan was the result of Ham sleeping with Naamah (Noah’s wife). Rabbinic and Muslim literature both hold this name for Noah’s wife in their respective traditions. This is why it spells out who the father of Canaan was, because who should’ve been the father, Noah, was not.
Furthermore, with the pronounced curse upon Canaan, it refers to Canaan as serving his brothers, not his uncles. And then there’s the city called Naamah in the land of Canaan listed in the conquest of the Promised Land. Named after Noah’s wife and mother of Canaan (both the man and the land).
To take your father’s wives/concubines was to take over the patriarchy. This can be seen in King David’s son Adonijah attempting to take over the kingdom and asks for David’s maidservant Abishag (who had slept with the king for him to stay warm in his old age). 1 Kings 1 & 2.

If you read the scripture without bias and your emotional sensitivity, You are correct in Genesis 9:1-20 it lays out the general outline in a macro detail about Noah and his life soon after the flood. Noah, the father who Yahweh said was righteous before Him in the generations, cursed his son Ham and blessed his two other sons! It was Noah, the Father who cursed and blessed his sons. So whilst in Gen 9:1 it is a general statement that reads Yahweh blessed Noah and his sons and i can be pedantic and mention it does not actually read all the sons or mention which of the sons. In short Yahweh gave the authority to Noah as a FATHER to curse or bless his sons and it does not indicate anywhere that Yahweh changed that. Noah did not plan to curse his son Ham, but he had to repremand Ham as a consequence of his actions. I know this can be a sensitive issue for many, but to be aligned with Scripture, we have to read and study Yahwehs word without adding to it because we dont like what it says. It's His Word and not ours.
