    ok first of all thanks for the video. J Carapiet says below that where he lives in the Gulf Pathfinders don't have the angle sensor system,
    so, for us that do you'll need to transfer a piece from the back of the clock spring you're replacing to the back of the new clock spring you're putting in. 12:32 of the video shows the gray and yellow connections but next to those is where the other plug for the angle sensor goes. The plug that's sticking straight up. Remove 3 tiny Phillips head screws and transfer the white plastic connector piece for the angle sensor plug.
    Repair fixed my flashing air bag light, and my horn is working again

    • @dyip32

      What is the purpose of the steering wheel angle sensor?
      I see that it was left unplugged, by what I'd assume is someone who did the work previously. You can clearly see it was never "unplugged" in this video, and it's seen at 10:04; the other smaller white plug to the left of the plug that was just removed.
      And then at 12:54, you see it was tucked away when the assembly was being re-installed.

    • @AP-yd1wz
      @AP-yd1wz Před 2 lety

      @@dyip32 It's an annular piece that has the wiring that connects to all the commands on the steering wheel. Therefore, per se, it's not that important. It all depends what doesn't work in the steering wheel sensor. I have had the one in my Pathfinder 2010 model not functioning properly for several months, but the only issue is that the honk doesn't work. I did not replace it because the original part is crazy expensive and didn't have the time to look for the right part online. Thanks to this video I seem to have finally found it. If you want to save money, but be safe, you can buy the part online, but have your mechanic confirm it's the right part, and have him install it. That's what I plan to do.

    Very nice explainable video, but you didn't install the "steering wheel angle sensor" nor did you put the "white" wiring hornist at the left top into the steering wheel angle sensor, on the clock spring and without doing this, there will be a light on the dash board that will not go off !!

    • @carapiet
      @carapiet  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes the Nissans in the Middle East where I live don’t have that feature! But you are right I should have mentioned that in the video

      Hola amigo, a mí me pasó lo mismo, recuerde comprar la pieza que corresponde a su versión del vehículo, ya que hay una versión que no tiene el acople para el sensor de ángulo de dirección, el computador no reconoce el giro de la dirección y enciende esas luces, después de cambiarlo también es necesario programar el sensor

      You can take the old VDC sensor off the old clock spring and attach it to the new one or buy a new one.

      It may just be an issue with the sensor. It may not be necessary that you change the airbag. In both my cars, the dashboard shows an issue with the airbag. But that's a sensor fault, and the airbags are fine and would deploy as needed in case of accident. I recommend you check with your mechanic first, as long as it's a good one that you can trust.

      I just changed mine out and had to remove the old steering angle sensor, and put it on the new clock spring. Worked like a charm! Thanks for the info on the diagnostic mode to clear the airbag light! My $300 code reader wouldn’t clear the light, but after a few cycles of the ignition and a start… light went off!

      Make sure that wires and connectors under your seats are all connect good and not frayed or pinched. I had such a problem with my passenger airbag and light kept flashing. Dealer want $2500 to replace entire seat. I discovered the cable/wire was pinch on the rail that the seat slides forward and back. Moved it and zip tied it away from the rail and blinking light went out and everything works perfectly.
