    2nd part of anecdote!
On the 1st day of the training school, the British instructor started explaining to the assembled Gurkhas that they would be jumping from the aircraft at the height of 10000 feet. Suddenly, he noticed the soldiers fidgeting uncomfortably and starting to whisper amongst themselves. Given the ram rod straight discipline that the Gurkhas are famous for, the instructor was appalled! Still he tried to continue with his lecture, when the senior Gurkha Jemadar raised his hand and asked permission to speak. Very politely, the Jemadar told the officer that his troops were scared and would it be possible for them to jump from a 1000 feet instead of a 10000 feet? The officer could not believe what he was hearing. Were these the famed Gurkhas who knew no fear and instead were feared by all?! Still being British, he put up a stiff upper lip and started to explain to the Jemadar that he and his troops had nothing to fear because they would use a parachute (showing them a picture) which would slow down their descent. Immediately he felt the Jemadar relax and understood what had happened when he heard him assure the other ranks, "Oh! He was only asking us to jump from the aircraft with a parachute!". "

That's probably made up. I've never heard of Gurkhas parachuting. However I do have real experience with one of them....
Me and a friend were visiting Windsor castle (near London) and we snuck away from the crowd. We came to a low wall with a garden beyond and French doors into a forbidden part of the castle. I dared my friend to jump the wall and go and look into the doors.
There was no one around so we had a long debate about to do it. Eventually we decided not to risk it and started to walk back to the public area.
As we were going I noticed that a Gurkha was standing to attention just a few yards away and he was so motionless that he had been invisible to us the whole time. He had been listening to our conversation and we never saw him despite being in plain sight!

US Navy SARCs, or Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsmen are the hardest, with a 2 year pipeline, you are required to already be a Corpsman, and expert Marksman, and have started replacing PJ Billets within DEVGRU and MARSOC due to the fact that SARCs are just that good at their job, you also have to learn dentistry, radiology, physics, chemistry, Advanced Diving Medicine, Special Forces/Advanced Combat medicine, have the knowledge and skills to be a paramedic or nurse, and be able to shoot expert with their rifle and sidearm. Following this, there is no Dentist rate in the Navy anymore, they're all Corpsmen, and being a Corpsman, or HM is already extremely difficult, and most aren't going to be assigned to a Marine unit as you need to shoot, think, look, and be fit like a Marine and be able to handle the op tempo of a MEU/FMF, SARCs also have to do basic diver, combatant diver, and Army Jumpschool, and have an ASVAB of 100 or higher. SARCs are trained to stay, kill, and perform medicine not just for their team, but other units, and civilians within their AO. And to even be a SARC, you also have to do Navy SPECWAR training, do their PT tests, along with Marine SOF PT tests and marksmanship quals, as you could either be assigned to Force Reconnaissance, MARSOC/Raiders, or DEVGRU. This is arguably the hardest, and one of the more essential SOF pipelines to even exist. If I had the options of a TCCC Qualified SEAL, or a SARC, I'm taking the SARC, SARCs only do medicine.
    SARC Pipeline:
Hospital Corpsman Basic and Strength & Conditioning Program (75 days) - San Antonio, TX
    • Field Medical Training Battalion-West (59 days) - Camp Pendleton, CA
    • Reconnaissance Training Assessment Program (33 days) - Camp Pendleton, CA
    • Basic Reconnaissance Course (95 days) - Camp Pendleton, CA
    • Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) School (12 days) - Multiple Locations
    • U.S. Army Airborne School (21 days) - Ft. Benning, GA
    • U.S. Marine Combatant Diver (MCD) course (51days) - Panama City, FL
    • Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (ARC) Course (37 days) - Panama City, FL
    • Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) course (250 days) - Fort Bragg, NC
    • Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman (SOIDC) course (96 days) - Fort Bragg, NC
    SARC Qualifiations:
    • Open Circuit (SCUBA)
    • Closed Circuit diving systems (MK25 Mod 2)
    • Basic Parachutist (Static-line)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Educations for Prehospital
    Professionals (PEPP)
    • National Registered Emergency Medical Technician -
    Paramedic (NREMT-P)
    • Special Operations - Advanced Tactical Practitioner (SO-ATP)
    Mission of Navy SARCs:
In the Special Operations environment, SARCs are the only enlisted medical provider in the U.S. military. SARCs
conduct full spectrum special operations missions for USMC Reconnaissance and U.S. Special Operations
Command units globally. As a team member of these elite groups, SARC’s perform challenging duties in direct
action, special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense, unconventional/irregular warfare, demolitions, diving and
airborne operations. While being trained and able to provide advanced trauma, clinical, veterinary, anesthesia and
limited surgical care in contested and austere environments.
It’s more than parachuting, diving or shooting… it’s about the medicine, how you keep your cool under fire,
persevering, adapting your skills to the environment in which you will operate and be ready for any mission.

While that's true, physical fitness is a major requirement, perhaps the main requirement, which is why u see in every special operations unit's selection, it always starts out with physical fitness, even their pre-selection/assessment to even get a spot at the actual grueling selection also primarily test your physical fitness. Once u have proven yourself physically and made it through all the physical exhaustion, then they'd test your mental and psychological capacity, your personality, knowledge etc.

The biggest difference is SEAL Team 6 have to train for the widest range of potential scenarios, whereas Delta pulls and plugs the best qualified/most experienced candidates from other elite Army units for each specific mission. Some have described DevGru guys as "jacks of all trades but masters of none." However, this isn't true. No, in order to qualify for, and remain on SEAL Team 6, you have to be a master of all trades. The Army doesn't require this as much since their larger candidate pool alllows them to select masters of very specific trades on the missions in which their training will be required

First of all you can't compare the different units because they have different missions. To be an enlisted member of Army Special Forces (aka Green Berets) you have to be atleast an E-6 (Staff Sergent) which means you have been to leadership training and excel at leading small groups. There's no prerequisite for joining the Navy Seals except being an active duty member of the U.S. military. So you can have seamen (E-1 to E3) possible become Seals (although you'll probably get promoted to E-3 if you make it through the training). Delta Selection criteria is classified and not know to the public. Even the individuals who are selected don't know exactly why they are pick over other candidates. I had an uncle and cousin who were Green Berets and I knew guys who were Seals. Green Berets rarely go around talking about the missions they were on. They're know as the silent professionals unlike a lot of former Navy Seals who are always on CZcams talking about what did. I'm a veteran and I've never heard my uncle or cousin talk about what they did while in the service. As a family, we rarely talk about the military. We live in the now.

Actually it would be US Navy EOD. They do the BUDS & advanced training along side the SO kids including demolition learning how to blow stuff up. Paths fork at the actual short phase, then the EOD kids go get a phd level education in how to defuse 10,000 different kinds of ordinance w/o dying in the process. Has a higher dropout rate than the SO program.

It’s not EOD it’s Delta Force. There’s no discussion. Theres maybe only 2 operations that’s ever been fully declassified. They be conducting shit that we will never ever know about. No reward, no medals, no recognition, they’re there and then they’re gone leaving a wake of destruction.

@@xXtuscanator22Xxthat goes the same for every special operations. Only reason why Delta has less declassified info is because there are much less operators

Seriously? All the ones sporting a “crab” and not a “trident” either washed out of buds or other spec ops training or were too intimidated to go. They choose eod as a last resort to be around and work with the operators of the spec ops community. I was with eod and I wasn’t really impressed by any of it. Only about a quarter of people in eod really wanted to be that specialty. This was my experience with eod anyway. The techs that we’re about being eod were outstanding at it but, that’s a small number. Eod does NOT participate in BUD’s Training at all! FACTS!!!!!🤷‍♂️💯

@@acid6urns Yeah, and I said that in my post. The training diverges at the time where the "warfare" portion of the training starts. Up to that pointEOD/SO candidates are side by side in all the diving and jump training.

Fun fact. You can sign up for SFAS in basic if you meet requirements. Some even get lucky with an 18Xray contract in a recruiters office or even at MEPs. There is no such thing as SF Division. You also don't go straight to SF if you are selected. There is a lot more shit before you can even think of wearing a green beret. Almost 2 years worth of training and possibly getting peer reviewed out or dropped.
My best advice, go 11B. Get jump school in your contract(opens doors) then go to RASP. "RIP" was the name when I went through, which should give you am idea of my age lol. Do an enlistment or 2 in Batt. Then drop a packet for SFAS. You will be better prepared mentally and physically. You will also have a tactical advantage over other candidates. Happy Hunting!
P.S. I was never a green beret. I did my 10 years in Batt. Sua Sponte!!

Delta Force training is always mentioned, but they always group Navy Seal training together. Although little known, most people fail to mention "Green team" training for Tier 1 SEAL Operators. It is on par with Delta Force as an equal within the training pipeline.
