It’s a good install. Installed my ported 392 manifold about 2-3 months ago and once Jay dialed it in, i could feel it hit harder over the super rich base tune. Took about 5 revisions, but he worked his magic!
I’d say those numbers area little overblown based off so many other videos of this mod posted, but time will tell.
This is the first video of the truck 6.4 manifold for the ram, the 392 car manifolds on the 5.7 cars are completely different setup gains are not as much as us ram guys get

Torque I can for sure see, HP not so much. Yes, you are flowing more air, but you aren’t flowing that much more air to produce a 30 HP gain up to or anywhere throughout the band.
Just saying it’s going to be hard to put numbers on it without having numbers or times from previous setup up to this one.

Just did this mod yesterday. Thanks to the info on the hose connections this made everything a lot easier. Wish there was instruction for more in-depth installation as I didn’t know going into this that some of the brackets would not be reused. Your video helped with that so thank you.

@@forestfingerboarder make sure to order a Takayama Harnesses. This will make it plug and play for the rear cables this way you don’t have to cut factory wires like I had to. You can order this harness with the intake from moes performance. Also watch the 1auto video for disassembly but unlike their video you don’t need to remove the alternator or belt. I went with the 5.7 extensions for my fuel injectors instead of using the 6.4 fuel injectors. Make sure your Pcv valve in the back that comes with the new intake with fit your electrical plug, mine didn’t and I had to use old one and had to use deemed to get old pcv valve in position not a show stopper though.

@@vicer77 it wasn’t a crazy amount of difference but shorty after I got long tube headers, removed the clutch fan and changed my thermostat to the 180 degree but what helped with these the most was the tune. Now just waiting to install a cam to capitalize on the other things in vehicle.
@@bryancooper8201 so it sounds like you got that first. I have everything you mentioned with the exception of the cam . I also have SOS coils which made a surprisingly noticable difference. I plan on getting the manifold with throttle body so I hope that makes a big difference.

Thanks Brother I have a 5.7 1500 Classic Quad Cab and I’m getting it going. I have a ported fastman TB, AFE Momentum GT Cold Air Intake, Stainleass works Headers w/ High Flow Cats, Stainless Works S-Tube Mufflers w/X-Pipe, and HP Tuners MPVI2. This is what I’m getting next and I’ll have it all installed. I’m gonna have Jay Green Tune my 5.7 I’m just unsure on the Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel and the Pulleys......?? But thanks for the video!

The truck 392 is completely forged the whole way through, including the crank. No one else builds their motor that heavy. If they put that motor in the 1500, it really wouldn't do much good for performance. You'd be better off doing this to a 345ci. Plus cam, long tubes, and a tune, you could climb the hp pretty quick.

I don't think I'll do much more than bolt ons at this point but for now I'm going to try and go 13s once the track opens up, not sure what it will do being stockish for now but if you have any tips or tricks on how to get there I would love to hear them! If you are running a 4x4 , wouldn’t you have better launches racing in 4x4 ? Isn’t any truck quicker in 4x4 versus 2x4? Third , do you only replace the rear transaxle ? Is your truck able to use 4x4 at all ?
I run 4x2 , its not difference in et in either ive ran both same day in back to back runs, n 4wd is 100% usable i still have same 3.21 gears up front n rear

Other than a tune, can you list parts ant their oem part numbers for ,e so can order them I been asking around for this mod for months n no one could tell me parts at first I asked jay a while back like a year ago n he didn't know exactly what would be involved cuz no one had done it back then yet lol, but now I keep seeing more of this 6.4 swap more often

I suggest you get a vented hood to have the engine running cooler
They go for 700-900 bucks used at that point just buy aftermarket

How would a pro charger stack up with your current Cam ? Since you gain alot of top end power and a centrifigul supercharger optimizes top end horsepower 😬 would go great with all your current mods 🤯

Yes definitely need a bigger converter and possibly higher gears for the victor 2 , it will make more power at the top then for 6.4 , i possibly could have benefitted more with it but don't wanna take the chance of possibly loosing more the 6.4 is a tq monster with great top end also

I ordered mine from mmx a few days ago ported, I’m excited. Not sure what to do for an intake. I want to see if I can route it to my 5.7 s&b box.
U might need to do some customization but I believe u could still make it work

Who taught this guy how to extend wires, crimp connectors are a weak fix. Solder and heat shrink would be the correct way to extend those wires.
It's only for the srv actuator, not your airbag...if it ever malfunctioned it wouldn't be a big deal.

No MSD kit for the active runners? Is this an older setup with VVT or did you just disable the active runners on the 6.4 intake for now?
Do not need an MSD kit its only needed for the car to upgrade to the 392 manifold

So is it not worth porting the stock 6.4 truck intake manifold? I just see the option to do it on Moes and MMX websites. Would it gain more power and torque I'd you did that? Or is it not worth the $350 dollars they're charging to do it?

Why the 6.4 manifold over a ported 5.7 manifold?
I believe he had both but he's pushing more air than 5.7 can handle now.
Had the ported 5.7 did great but need more airflow to maximize my new setup

Hey bud. Thanks for your video. I am in a different situaltion than you. I am replacing a 5.7l with a 7.0l (6.4l) on my 2012 2500. It's also procharged. I hear you mentioning the victor in your video..... i actually own couple of these intakes but not sure I can use them in my truck. The throttle body comes straight out like on the cars rather than 90 degrees like the 5.7l intake on rhe trucks and interferes with the alternator. Thanks to your video it at least looks like I can at least put a 6.4l truck intake with rhe offset throttle body without too many issues.... have you looked into the victor setup dor yourself yet? Modern Muscle sells a relocation kit for the alternator and ac, designed to use the mopar 6.1L intake, but I am unsure if this will also work to mount the edelbrock..... my guess is yes, but I haven't spoke to anyobe else who has tried yet.

I have a 2012 ram 1500 my 6.4 intake came off a newer ram truck after installing it i got a bunch of codes now tractiion control light on deactivation #7 cylinder #7 injector open circuit battery light flashing any ideas where i went wrong o and it doesn't shift to 5th gear smh
Did you use the 6.4 injectors or kept your 5.7 with a spacer ? The 6.4 injectors need custom tuning for use in the 5.7, it sounds like you might have other issues as well .

You can get it from mmx or any 2014/2018 ram 2500 hemi 6.4 for ram trucks, and for chargers I would say the 392 or the srt8
What if you have a 6.4 manifold off a car can I get the mds for the long runners to work ? Or do I need a truck 6.4 ?

What type a throttle body are you using ? Aftermarket ones very often have issues.
Can you do this to the 3rd gen dodges I have a late model 3rd gen 5.7.
No this is only for 4th Gens, I don't know much about what would work best with the 3rd gens

Yes you can use the stock throttle body, the 6.4 uses the same as 5.7 , as for the porting it will depend on the other supporting mods you have done to the engine.

There's no 5th generation hemi, it's 3gen hemi engine and 5th gen Ram body. Yes they will fit, engines are identical as long as they are 3rd gen hemi.

I had a true bore throttle body I used, the 6.4 n 5.7 uses the same throttle body

Other than the manifold (which results in the higher horsepower and torque), what is the difference between the 5.7 and 6.4 Hemis? Like if I were to make this mod to my 5.7, would I technically have a 6.4? I’m new to this so I apologize for my lack of knowledge on the subject.
6.4 liter hemi has more cylinder displacement than the 5.7 hemi. Increasing piston diameter and Poston stroke will increase displacement, which is not cheap to do.
You would need the 392 badges and you're done.😜
