This is what I always wanted to do with Simpleken. Have a lot of comics together discussing purely our writing process. I am very blessed to be in this field while being surround by such talented minds. To be able to share ideas and concepts with each other is probably the highest privilege I enjoy. We discussed our insecurities, our personal crisis and also our guilty pleasures! Hope you guys can take something away from it and it hopefully adds to your creative and problem solving! Also there was a 10 minute segment on toilet humour which I removed to be empathetic towards some listeners who might find that jarring.

Glad you guys are enjoying this episode so much! Easily the most expensive episode too shoot in terms of production and the longest to edit (took 2 weeks), it wasn’t easy with everything going on but realised it’s the best time to release something almost an hour long for distractions. Yes I feel the same. That the times aren't right. And he is as human as all of us. There should be absolutely no pressure on him to frequently put up a episode. but also If I speak from my personal experience, this long recording helped me a lot during last year, when I was not in a good place in my life. Whatever he does, it's honest and that is why you feel the connect. :) And hi.

The only way Nolan challenges his audience is in terms of the mediocrity they are willing to go through. History has seen much better directors tarkovsky, Wong kar wai, Bergman, Kubrick and even India's own Satyajit Ray.

@@kedarrisbud I have seen his films and they no different than Michael bay's. Its just a spectacle for the eyes and yes almost all judgement is done through a comparative lens. If you want a film to challenge you watch Satoshi kon's paparika (inception copied paparika) or perfect blue.
@@atulyabharadwaj2279 maybe for an avid film follower like you. But for the average audience, (for someone like me who has just started learning about cinema ) watching Nolan is a larger than life experience. Just because you know better directors doesn't mean Nolan is a bad director.

39:35 You know when Kenny said he watches his own stuff like "Kya banaya maine" all that I could remember was how absolutely hilarious this one line of his was in Star Boyz with Naveen where he said "I called my dad on my birthday and said "Dad it's my birthday!" And my dad was like "Who's this?" I always, without miss, lose my SHIT at this line this is like imprinted in my memory of him as clear as a day. What an absolutely bonkers of a comedian mannn.

Thanks for another great episode, Kenny. I really enjoyed Kanan’s perspectives in this! My highlights are 1) the narrative of the creative faculty in your brain and how it just wants to continue working on a bit and how you should let it, 2) how ridiculous it is to have your therapist tell you you’re overthinking, when you would expect them at the very least to classify overthinking as just thinking 3) the very casual and selective observational skills leading to multiple tv units.
You are also all a group of well-meaning, nice people and that makes this conversation a delight to watch. 🥰

Honestly, my favorite comedian from all the comics I've seen is Kanan, but I absolutely love all of your individual perspectives you bring to your artform and it is always enjoyable because you all are very honest about everything you say on stage and off stage(podcasts and such) too
