    Excellent video, and now subscribed :) Can you tell me the synth used for the bass at the "Synth of the Month" intro?

      Hiya, and welcome! It's our Minimoog doing the bass at the start of the video. Hope that helps!

    What are your thoughts of this vs OB6 if you can only have one?
    Are the extra features and QOL improvements and third oscillator worth it at the expense of the multimode sem filter?
    Or is the OB6 filter/oscillators worth the step backward in overall layout and flexibility?

    • @BOOelectric
      @BOOelectric  Před 10 měsíci

      Oooo... That's a tricky one. My heart says OB6... It's just so lovely, and it's been in my life longer than the Trigon, and yes, the sem style filter, while not EXACTLY like having an original sem in the house, would be missed greatly. So I'd instinctively go for the OB... The Trigon, however, has slightly expanded capabilities over the OB, though it's still a fairly simple synth... The ladder filter is pretty good, but it's a bit crunchier than the Moog filter it seems to be inspired by, and the whole synth feels more utilitarian, but in a pleasing, functional way... I feel that the front panel makes more intuitive sense to me somehow. While the OB6 just sounds glorious, basically whatever you do to it, the Trigon has wider scope, but a narrower sweet spot... Which is actually quite exciting... It surprises me with unexpected and lovely results fairly regularly.... Hmm... I haven't really answered your question, just reiterated it. I think that's the answer, it depends on what you want - creamy loveliness on tap, or an angular exploration device (which, though excellent in itself, isn't quite as flexible as some other synths the same price, or less...) The Trigon can do creamy and lovely too, though not the same as the OB... For what it's worth, I actually prefer the OB6 to the OBX8... There. Made it even more confusing! :)

    7:32 it sounds like a kukoo clock. How interesting.

    Hey! Great video! Is there any way you could blow up the image in your intro of the “Synth of the Month”? The poster on the wall of the synth keyboard with human limbs, posing in the same way that you’d see on the cover of Playboy? Hopefully it’s a vector image you can blow up to a poster size and sell to me! I hope you will consider doing so!

      You wouldn’t have called it basic if he hadn’t used the word.

      @X22GJP yes that was an attempt at humor because it isn't basic at all

    Fascinating. Like a Prophet and a Moog had a baby. 3 oscillators is nice, a lot of my favourite phasing pad sounds come from 3. The vintage dial is a nice touch as well, love me some envelope randomisation.

    • @BOOelectric
      @BOOelectric  Před rokem

      Yeah it's a lovely thing! I do wish more synths allowed you to modulate the envelopes too.

    Huge!
    I have a Take 5 which is an excellent instrument.
    If only finances would stretch to this.. Next level 👍🏼🏴‍☠️✌🏼

    thank you man for this. Really good video. Im getting the module. I do want the keyboard but its too much. I can barely afford the module. I loved the patch it was lovely. Im not sure why people want it to play ear splitting chainsaw shit the whole video and sweep the hell out of it. Have a good day man I subbed

      Thank you very much, I'm really glad you found it useful, and good luck with your new synth. It is pricey, but it should retain its value better than money in the bank (that's what I've been telling myself!) I do agree that lots of demos go for the huge ballsy sounds rather than more subtle ones, I guess it's all about getting noticed, but thanks for mentioning the cuckoo clock sound, I'm very pleased with that one! Remember: synths don't make music, people make music (to missquote the NRA) !! All the best.

    • @buschovski1
      @buschovski1 Před 7 měsíci

      haha love your missquote. Although Ive almost believed the Lyra8 makes music on its own, Its always the persons fault I guess. Its not the synths fault.
