1. Make it about them - focus on benefits
2. Make it an event - nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd
3. Powerful demonstration - USE PHYSICS!
4. Show unquestionable proof - use experts like doctors or influencers
5. Change a daily behavior - like adding MCT oil to your coffee (bulletproof coffee)
6. Sell the dream - Nike makes you believe you can jump like Michael Jordan
7. Help them rebel - stick it to "the man"
Michael Jordan 😂
bless your heart.
this has no point if you don't include the context
Cool
@@artsiommatsveyeu1184just be glad its there to begin with...😅
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my CZcams channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,206 subs and > 1,000 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.
This is the essence of marketing. Moving the market forward, creating new markets, giving your competitors a hard time following. Cheers for all the goodness from this video!
Edward Bernays is called the "godfather of propaganda". He is the nephew Sigmund Freud.
The nephew of Bernays is one of the founders of Netflix. Marc Bernays Randolph.
He is continuing the legacy of his uncle. They are what is known as "social engineers".
This episode changed my life. I’m never brushing my teeth or drinking OJ again, but I’ll still eat bacon.
Same haha
Absolutely love this podcast. Never stop making content like this
Fantastic pod guys. Thank you!
Wow this is your best episode, BY FAR!
Such a great episode with great storytelling and lots of take away points. Thanks for this gem!
One of the best episodes! Great work!!!
And this is why this podcast is my absolute favorite podcast on the internet. Shaan, you are so positive and attentive with your guests, its infectious! I want to be like Shaan Puri when I'm in my 40's.
This is a Brilliant Episode as your Many Others 👏 Too! THankU it's a Gift !
Bravo! Masterclass and I'm taking notes!
This is one of my favorites I've listened to .
Brilliant episode Sirs!
Loving these early EST uploads ❤
I know a guy who made over 20 million off of Green Coffee Bean extract because Dr. Oz mentioned it and he was one of the only 2 amazon stores selling that garbage at the time. Dude went from living in his mom's garage to living in South Beach and driving a Lamborghini within 30 days lol.. so cool
what's he doing now I wonder?
@CoconutPete still selling supplements but nowhere close to the volume he did with that indirect Dr. Oz promo
Astonishing content Guys! 💯💯 Thanks to share your knowledge with us. 🥳
I need to buy a Tesla so I can take better notes of MFM while driving.
A+ episode, boys.
This guy has definitely read scientific advertising
Craig is a LEGEND.
Excellent episode like always 👏
This is fantastic guys, learned a lot! Thank You!
man ! I gained so much from this video. thanks a lot
This was an amazing episode
The perfect content for rocking my baby this early morning.
Different strokes for different folks I guess because this made me rock hard.
@@Chris.......... 😂😂😂
He shot the bullet from a right angle that it hit my creativity. Amazing session 👏👏
Great interview, Shaan.
Golden! Absolutely incredible!
great content thank you. I have fired 4 marketing teams for my VR business because not one of them made any headway or listened to what I was saying about connecting with customers.. I have actually done better marketing myself and I am not a marketer. Seeing this got my head spinning about what I can do. Thank you I will track the campaigns and the revenue and see how it goes trying these new concepts.
@@Joe-sg9ll hi not sure what I can contribute but I'm up for talking and seeing where it goes...
Amazing. I greatly appreciate this!
Mr. Clemens paid homage to P.T. Barnum, which made me want to hear anything else he had to say. Barnum's autobiography. is a wild, super-informative book anyone interested in marketing/advertising should read.
Low-key don’t want this podcast to blow up so info like this isn’t exposed to the masses. Selfish, I know.
If more people listens to it, there will be better and better content
I had to get my head around a concept like this as well... the thing is though, majority of people don't/won't commit even if they knew what to do
Many may hear the information, only a small percentage will apply it.
Facts@@Stringr369
If you’ve never heard these stories before I assume you’ve literally never read a book about marketing. This is all pretty well known stories in the marketing space
this is a contender for best episode of 2023
5:50 Craig said hijack the limbic system - I pulled out my notebook no lie.
MFM for the high value content win. Shaan and Sam-your dedication to education is next-level.
Awesome video. Thank you
Yess Marketing is Thee Key BLoodLine to a Business, Service or Product and Coupled with a Story ... The Content Creators Do So Well! It was A Lady way back Marketed Diamonds as Most Exclusive & it Still Lives On In this Way Today ... likely 100 years Later. Even stores called Diamonds (this or that).
Think that was De Beers
3 stages of a product market according to Craig:
1. Clueless - when you need to create the marketing wave because nobody knows anything about the product
2. Curious - people have probably heard the term of your product
3. Saturation - household term which makes it difficult to compete
Shaan really managed to get Mark Wahlberg on the pod??
😂😂😂
Shaan I cant keep up with the amount of uploads man :D
Amazing masterclass
Thanks awesome video, thanks!
“This is a smart mother fcker, this is Sigmond Freud.” Got me hooked after that.
When Shaan stood up I thought he was going to be wearing just underwear.
This was really awesome, you should do more ideas around creative marketing ideas! If you're interested in more about Edward Bernays I would highly recommend watching 'The Century of the Self' and any of Adam Curtis's documentaries really. They are fascinating.
Also, to add to this list Listerine did a great marketing job where they kind of invented the fear of 'halitosis' (bad breath) to sell mouth wash.
Great Video
I had the fortune of meeting Craig in NYC years ago. He's given me a ton of great advice over the years. Brilliant entrepreneur and super cool dude 💯
I recognized his voice from waaaaay back in the day. He was a guest of David DeAngelo (Ebin Pegan) at a double your dating seminar
lol, this was the first episode I listened to on Apple Podcast and I kept picturing Richard Branson every time Craig said something. Dudes got a voice for the ages.
I recognized it but took awhile til remembered where I had heard him from. He was kind of a dating guru back in early 2000s. He said "if you start the interaction off with a bang, its more likely to end with a bang." Classic!
Just perfect
This guy looks like parallel universe version of Mark Wahlberg lol
Very powerfull!
“But I hope you brought some ketamine…”
Confirmed coolest person at the party
Anyone got a link to that Legendary Keybiotics Video?
GOLD
Funny they mention Dr. Oz and resveratrol. I once was at the Vitamin Shoppe and the people working there took several calls asking if they had it in stock because Dr. Oz just mentioned it on his show. Apparently the Vitamin Shoppe would always know if Dr. Oz mentioned something because they'd get a blitz of calls all asking about the same supplement.
In India people were brushing their teeth for atleast 2000 yrs, many chinese travellers have written about Buddhists and how they had rules about monks in Nalanda University on personal hygeine how to use Neem Datun (Neem Branch) to clean the tooth. How to take bath and clean your bowel movements and how to wash hand after. This is all documented in 1500 yrs old notes.
Really cool insights. Probably one of the best episodes of the pod in a long time
I've watched this three times now
The add that is snuck in now in the first few mins every ep is brutal, forces the immediate drag forward 10 mins or so into the ep
I hate how they always stick the hubspot ad in there. I'd hit the skip thinking it was a normal ad but then itd go to the next vid, grrr
Dr Oz was also sued into oblivion and was a huge reason as to why we have some of the safeguards for internet marketing we have in place today
Wasn't all of this covered in the book The power of habit? 🤔😉
Dude looks like mark wahlberg 😅 great advice btw tx ❤
yeees!
So much SAUCE! I’m sure you will learn more from this one video than going to university for marketing
PRODUCER: Fix the first link to Ep. 95 in the Description... It is Broken because You included the ) in the link address...
Shaan - Told Ya You should have Hired Me... It's ALL About the Details... NO SMALL BOY STUFF !!!
yoooo luke palmar has spoken about bernard bernay tooooo..... does this guy have a book?
Elon musk has copyright on "Trust me I'm lying"
Shaan doesn't know Edward Bernays?! this is gonna be epic.
Sick
Add more to the gentlemens agreement. Feel like I'm stealing listening and learning from this content.
grate episode! US political ads are wild 💀
lets goo
Who else knows Craig from David D'Angelo dvds? 😁
Yes!!! Back in early 2000s
I would totally buy MFM probiotics.
Now I have to miss some of the episodes! Too many guest ones back to back!😢
But how can we actually differentiate between the truth and the marketing thing? For example, this movement against sugar and its harm to the body is the actual thing or just a marketing from the next generation of sweeteners?
Craig is definitely top 5 of greatest living marketers - this was definitely a marketing masterclass
who are the other 4?
I've not heard anyone talk about Craig. He was kind of a dating guru back in the early 2000s
still here phew
❤
YOU need to believe in yourself more. YOU ARE UNLIMITED.
👍
3:50 Siegmund Freud, what a chad
Brilliant Me. Otis.
FYI; he also made his female employees to wear nylons (during that era an employer can get away with that).
DON IS THE DON.
Mark Wahlberg dropping knowledge
☠️☠️☠️
👍👍
Bernays was neat, however he was a student of Lippmann and the true original: Le Bon...
Mark Whalberg
All vídeo long these 2 have been mentioning huge brands marketing moves
i love propaganda.
watched the bbc documentary series about Edward Bernays and got hooked on the topic ever since!
i am German btw
shaan has kids?
This guy looks like a normal version of Mark Wahlberg
Dramatic advertisment
Slightly reminds me of Mark Wahlberg
I am excited 😊 my life has totally changed. I have been benefiting $10,250 from my $4,000 investment every 14days
I invested with Ricky, i make about a 30,000USD every month.
Same here, a Transformation of £4000 to £15,400 in just 2 weeks, he's really the best
You guys speak almost the same way 🤣🤣
First 😊
Freud -> Bernays -> Netflix CEO
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great podcast, but why do people keep regurgitating this ridiculous stat of “people see 4000 ads a day” or even 10k. Just think about it logically for a second. Do the math. That’s physically impossible, given the amount of hours dedicated to sleep, watching actual content, showering and just having conversations. Even if you count the ads you see on social platforms in between posts. Count all the billboards on the subway/tube on your journey next time. You will barely cross 100 ads in a day.
