Blender (program they’re using) is a 3D program which has a tool called Grease Pencil, which lets you draw 2D things in a 3D space. Imagine you draw on paper, cut out the drawing and then make it stand up so you can move around it and look at it from any angle in a 360 degree space, that’s pretty much what’s happening here
@@IyeViking tbh im still confused too. But rather than the concept, it’s the depth aspect of it. Unlike tilt brush or dreams (that have a device to let movement into the z axis, in blender it was the y axis i think?), this doesn’t seem to have that... so how do we control that? Is it based on camera positioning, pressure from the pen, or is there some commands on the keyboard? The curved line for the hat especially confused me. It’s supposed to be flat if it’s based on the camera positioning, but somehow it got dimension at the end..
@@anonymouswhite7957 there's a canvas that you can place in the project and anything you draw will be placed on that axis, so you can be like "hey alright this is a box, so one side will go here" *draws side of a box, moves camera, places canvas* "and another will go here" I know i didnt explain it well but the artist has a tutorial that explains how and what to do to get this effect :)

Using Blender. Blender was originally made for 3D animation, but had a 2D animation suite built in over time. Blender is very cool in that you can animate using the traditional method, OR you can use the Grease Pencil, which puts the frames/drawings into a 3D environment.
