Texas Diamond /Victory Ribbon Braid - Stripe Pattern

This is a classic homecoming mum braid/chain called Texas Diamond or Victory Braid. There are several patterns to braid, this one is for the Striped Pattern.
36"ish Braid Ribbon Measurements for 2 color as shown:
2 ea of #5 Ribbon, 3 1/2 yards per ribbon (then double)
I used 3.5 yards of black, backed with 3.5 yards of black ( 7 yards total) and braided it with 3.5 yards gold diamond dust backed with 3.5 yards of black (7 yards total).
If you want to use #3 ribbon, each ribbon will be 2 yards in length making each leg (I know) 4 yards total.
