We have come to the point where game dev needs to announce that THERE IS NO MICROTRANSACTIONS, to attract consumers.....let that sink in.

I was gaming way before microtransactions existed in gaming, and I haven't stopped gaming since (point is: I was around and gaming when microtransaction came onto the scene). It absolutely blows my mind, when people defend microtransaction, as if they're ok.
Kids now have no idea, and they just accept (without a second thought) that microtransaction are as much a part of video games, as brakes are vehicles.
The WORST thing about microtransactions is when they give you the in-game currency (that currency you bought with real money) to buy things, but after you're done buying things, you have a little bit of in-game currency left over. NOT enough to buy anything, but enough to entice/trick players into buying another microtransaction pack to have enough to buy another thing.
and to be honest even them being up front about it even upsets me at this point...its like they forgot and forgot again

I like the change to the rules in terms of catching the snitch. It always seemed a bit excessive that the snitch was worth 150 points. It almost makes the rest of the game pointless. But making it so that the snitch is only worth 30 points makes the rest of the game more important. Also, I love that there are no microtransactions. That has become a thing with a lot of games lately and it's seriously a turn off.
how important is the game when you can only score 10 goals

I mean it's clearly been made separately, purely based on artystyle which is completely different. It's looks inspired by the original PS2 game but with a current gen touchup.

Spent my childhood playing Quidditch World Cup and other Harry Potter games on the PS2. I can't wait to play this, especially now that I've been getting immersed into Hogwarts Legacy, reading the books and rewatching the movies. I need more Harry Potter in my life!

Pro: the snitch being 30 points finally fixes the most ridiculous rule in quidditch
Con: I was really hoping I could have a career playing in the British and Irish Quidditch League, playing full seasons, rather than just the simple tournament format of a world/school cup. They should basically make career mode be like Fifa.
It's not ridiculous once you consider that Quidditch games can last for days. I think the longest one was mentioned to be a month long. I don't think that 150 points is the issue but that the matches in the books were always so quick.

@@blackfalcon1324 That's actually a very real possibility. But I do like the idea of the Snitch. It can add strategic element to it as the Seekers have to count points to make sure they win when they catch it and the idea of matches lasting for days is quite wild. Maybe it should have been worth less like 70 points keeping the idea of the magic power of "7". 30 is definitely not enough. The best use of the Snitch was in book 3 when they couldn't just win the final game to win the cup, they had to keep count of the points with Harry and Draco stopping each other from catching the Snitch at the right moment.
Im these times, I'm worried in how a game like will financialy survive without microtransactions, lets support this game cause its a dream come true for hp fans

This brings back memories of playing the PS2 game with the almost comical royalty free epic music on the title screen.
Please add British and Irish League and European Cup as well. Squad rosters and substitutes would be a nice touch as well instead of the same 6 customisable players

Such a great game!!!
- all positions
- A career path that just makes sense (start as a hobby player during Harry Potters time, then join the Hogwarts House teams, then compete against other schools (My theory is that the Triwizard Quidditch Cup takes place every 4 years, starting 4 years after the Triwizard Tournament to replace that one), then you go professional.
- A game mechanic change that makes Quidditch even better than in canon (especially the snitch nerf, the snitch absolutely ruined Quidditch before).
- All the brooms from the series.
- No Microtransactions.
- Iconic stadiums and new cool stadiums
- characters from the HP series
- online playing possibilty
There is only one thing I still hope they add in the future: Quidditch Clubs as an inbetween between Triwizard Quidditch Cup and Quidditch World Cup. They should give us one season in the British Quidditch League where we can choose one of the 13 Teams there and then an international Tournament featuring the best British clubs and the international teams mentioned in "Quidditch over time"
I think players (consumers) better read the TERMS OF SERVICE.
2. Changes to the Contract and the Game
WB Games may update this Agreement at its sole discretion, and you may be asked to review and agree to the revised TOS as they become available. If you do not agree to the revised TOS, you will not be permitted to continue playing the Game via the Game Server. If at any time you are unable to comply with the then-current TOS, you must terminate this Agreement and immediately cease access to the Game Server in any manner.
WB Games may change, modify, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Game at any time. WB Games may also impose limits on certain features or restrict your access to parts or all of the Game without notice or liability.
Explanation 2: it says that WB can modify the contract at any time (say that it will have microtransactions, for example) and if you don't accept it, you won't be able to access the game.
4. Account Suspension/Deletion
WB GAMES MAY SUSPEND, CANCEL, MODIFY OR DELETE YOUR ACCESS TO THE GAME SERVER AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON OR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO YOU.
Explanation 4: WB can do whatever it wants with your account without you knowing or without your approval. Maybe this includes the servers too. Of closing and getting no refund.
7. Internal Communications in the Game
You understand and agree that WB Games, its affiliates and its contractors may monitor, record, review, modify and/or disclose your internal in-game communications without notice to you. WB Games, its affiliates and its contractors have no obligation to monitor internal in-game communications.
Explanation 7: WB and its third parties can spy on you without you knowing and without telling you what they did.
14. Patches and Updates
WB Games may apply patches, updates and modifications (collectively, "Updates") to the Game at any time, and the Game may change after an Update is applied.
Explaining 14: They can add microtransactions, paid season passes and you can't say anything.
If you read everything that's there, you'll ask for a refund right away. How I did

@@shnicegaming from what i know Ireland was winning by 160 points Bulgaria had 10 points i could be wrong...But Ireland had 170 points Bulgaria caught the snitch bumping up their score to 160
but due to the rule of quidditch the game ended once the snitch was caught

WB Games has also unveiled physical and digital deluxe editions for the game. The former will be available at launch and will cost $39.99, as opposed to the $29.99 standard edition. A physical edition, priced the same as the digital one, will be available in November. Purchasing either of the two deluxe editions will net you with in-game gold and cosmetics tied to each of the four Hogwarts Houses.
No microtransactions but an expensive game when you might need to buy new editions to have fun.

WB is closing down Magic Awakened servers after one year while having the full capability of transferring the playerbase's data to NetEase's servers.
After that announcement, I'd think twice before spending any money or putting in any of my time into this game.
They've shown that they do not care about their playerbase and will just decide to shut down servers even if there is a fully viable alternative to respect their playerbase's time, community and the money they spent on their games.
Honestly, they have ZERO RESPECT FOR THEIR GAME USERS.
But its free on PS5 (with online), and has no microtransaction.... si you dont lose money if they shut down (from a ps5 user perspective)

I was ready to ignore this game, but this trailer actually answered my major concerns with the idea of the game itself. Bravo marketing team, and bravo to the devs. Major respect. You solved the main concern of the snitch making the rest of the game pointless, and with the career mode being put in, there's now a point for people interested in the world of Harry Potter, but less interested in sports to take a look. And no micro transactions? Now this makes me want to buy the game just to support the positive gaming practices.

There are literally microtransactions. There are broom skins, character skins, emblems, and in-game currency. That didn't last long.

A lot of the animations are really similar and the Durmstrang stadium is almost identical to one of the stadiums in the original game!

6 - 12 months. They'll give at least 6 months to see if players still care and popularity of the game itself. If doesn't reach the expectative, they'll extract money out of the loyal players

I don't think that's the same thing. Aren't micro transactions supposed to be where you buy in game currency to use on loot/bundles for the store? Season pass is different in that regard, you can just buy it with just your money. No saving up for in game currency.

There's in-game currency you likely get from playing the game which is probably how you buy the skins and brooms or maybe by doing certain achievements in the game.
hopefully its like hogwarts legacy gold and how you could buy cosmetics from in game vendors and no real money
@@MetalOtter33 in the video, when it's explaining broom skins, it shows at the bottom how you can unlock the broom by completing a task of some sort in the game.
