KING is the Zangief of Tekken. Played against a guy who main him in college when we did tournaments during finals week. He would literally just wait to do that chain, no matter how the matches went...won like 85 of his matches...
I think it was a good decision, won memories, champs are easily forgotten a couple years later w/out looking it up
So everyone was really bad. Breaking Grab chain is kinda easy. Thats why you dont see high rank players doing this. Still, king is a good character

I don’t hate king for the chain grabs it’s more so about being grabbed at any point in time no matter wat position ur in and it’s crazy because king can use his attacks to mix up what he’s going to do so it literally hurts when a king player fully understands what to do in All situations

I respect that but what if -- if it doesn't? any moves is a double-purpose of dealing both damage and canceling their animations. Grab 12f animation, jab way lower frames, it would just infinitely cancels grabs and at the same time deal damage. tl;dr could had been way worse.
Say what you want haters playing against King. He's always been my favorite character since Tekken 3 and I respect those who know how to do his chain grabs.
Knowing the chain combo is like solving the da vinci code and I respect that
can confirm the combo is hard to pull off but a lot of fun to learn, with some shoulder button inputs and muscle memory it's fairly doable :)

@@coolman4607 that's one of the grabs but not the most intensive one they meant i believe. I think it might've been the magma drive which is harder to conquer (i agree rolling death cradle is easy)
It's a bit hard on timing because it needs timing, not in any way. I know all of them and know that if u pressed buttons fast or at a certain time, it won't work but its absolutely AMAZING ❤👍

Love pulling off the chain grabbing as King back in Tekken 7. But once people figure out they only need to press either 1 or 2 to break the chain you then really have to be creative with those.
Is there any timing required when trying to break those ? I used to always spam 1, but that's not the most effective way of doing it :D
This multi chain can be broken with 1 after king does the 2nd attack

You have to guess if they’re doing 1 or 2. So if you’re spamming only 1 and they’re only using the chain that uses 2, you’re never gonna break.

King is a tactic character especial with combo grabs. What you showed is just 1 of it. I did not play tekken from 5 series if i am not wrong , but i played 1,2 and 3 a lot.Definetly he still have all the combo grabs

@@AndyNocturne and also the easiest to break if you know that they’re just gonna mash it. Again, it’s the same route every time. This grab is the one that gets broken out of the most cuz it’s super easy to see it coming due to it being the only grab that comes out of jaguar hop.

i remember playing against my dad on tekken 3 and he using king, i used to get really mad when he did those infinite grabs on me, fortunately (or unfortunately bc i think he stoped playing as much with me since then) i learned how to counter most of them.

you know you can break out of the grab chain right? well, after the first two or three. But you don't have to sit through the whole thing and wait for your demise.
I notice that chain combo reminds me of Street Fighter Zangief Final Atomic Buster. I see what they did there. I also notice that King in this game have a lot of moves from actual WWE finish moves like Hulk Hogan's boot to the face than run and leg drop them. Which takes a lot of health bar if you catch the player off guard.

Can you do anything against the grabs????
They just have to mash 1. You can avoid this whole grab by just ducking if he jaguar steps towards you, but he can mix it up with jaguar step 2, which now he can do 3 grabs after that that are unbreakable and guaranteed if you duck. Honestly, just run. That's my advice as someone who mains king. Either run if you see me stepping or hit me out of it, but you gotta time it right. Generally speaking, if you just stand in his face and mash him to death, he can never go for grabs. Works well for everyone I fight in ranked.
Lots actually... The first jaguar step he does (the spinning hop before the grab chain) is very unsafe and can easily be launched since he's considered airborne when he does that... Also u can generally just mash 1 or 2 and it'll break automatically
And also just good advice against king... He's weak to rush down so just keeping him under pressure he can't play well... Even though he's a grappler he's not that good close range... He's better playing footsies from mid range... But he has weak movement to create space so u can abuse that against him

Well u can easily do it with jaguar step (3+4) into 2+3 or 1+4 and then just mash 1+2+3+4

Well there r easy ways to do it... This one is done with jaguar step (3+4) into either 1+4 or 2+3 and then u can just mash 1+2+3+4
Another easy grab chain is df 2+4 or sidestep 2+4... It's the same thing and then mash 1 or 2
The hardest part about this is actually the timing to start the grab combo coz the start up animation is quite long

Amateurs hate King. You can cancel his grabs simply by pressing 2 buttons. In fact not only his but every opponents. Even if he grabbed you, you still have a chance to cancel at each move he makes when performing the combo. Hes awesome and one of the strongest.

I think a good way to deal with jaguar sprint is to just low kick him... U can avoid the rko by ducking and u break the Armor with a low atk... If u don't time it right u can still get launched tho but that's only when he's in heat

And I did say u gotta time it right otherwise u can get launched but he only has 1 launch option from jaguar sprint and that's only in heat and it's not even a full launch either it's a screw launch
But there r still multiple ways to deal with jaguar sprint... Easiest way is just by jabbing... But the RKO is reactable with it's massive animation albeit hard but can duck on reaction

I like his rushdown apprach Tekken 8 will be my first tekken so ill try to do the character justice I heard he is rare to be encountered online and 80% players really dont know the match up to counter against him if you play him at a mid/upper mid lvl at least

No. You're wrong. Anyone above green rank will be having good enough matchup knowledge for King unless that guy is a button masher and lacks fundamentals or may be just starting Tekken out or a first time player. A good king will not be using his grabs but playing with other fundamental aspects. However, as soon as a king player knows you cannot break throws, he will become Devil of grabs. LOL!
King is the most labbed character in Tekken history due to his grabs starting from lower middle to high level. That is why winning with King at high level requires extreme level of matchup knowledge, patience, & execution skills. Now that Namco has done him justice in 8 with counter grabs, punishment grabs, we will see him more at higher level.

@@videogamesareforever I think they should just make breaks deal damage to king(or whomever ) and king can would also have the chance to counter it dealing damage(i almost suggest it would go semi-indefinitely but that would be silly ), If someone breaks a an average grab they just do a cancel animation feels like wasting everyone's time.

Almost all of King's chain grabs are true 50-50 after initial 2 throws. One will eat them more than once in their lifetime.
@@videogamesareforever since I wrote my comment I actually learnt that, both the hard and the satisfying ways. Now I usually go for the alternatives which deal less damage, wait until they get used to dodging those and then get them with the longer multi-throws 😂
