Great commercial. Love the GTX and that is one of my favorite songs of all time . The GTX was the Bankers Muscle Car .

I was the 2nd owner of a a 70 gtx all original 18 spline 4 spd trans Dana 60 rear w/ 354 gears for 22 years. It always ran the qtr. Mile 14.6 sec at 89 mph. I could have got my times down a little but i lit the tires up big time as to keep my times consistent. And put on a show. Lots of smoke lol. 14.6, 14.5, 14.67 etc. My friend had a 340 duster and we were neck and neck. Every time we raced. Oh, and every gtx came stock with a sway bar. Great car ran the crap out of it for years never broke anything only replaced a few clutches.

I’ve been a Chevy man all of my 18 year old life but over the last 2 years I’ve started to realize how kickass MOPARs especially Plymouth’s are now I need a 70 Roadrunner a 68 cuda fastback a 70 cuda and a 70 superbird clone and also a 70 challenger and a 68 charger

I had a box stock olive green 70 GTX 440, four barrel, automatic, 3.23 rear. 0-60 in 5.9, do the quarter mile at 103 mph and 12.9. Factory chrome mags, AC. Don't know how fast it'd really go, but I had it at 135 mph on the interstate with a third of the pedal left. Very fast for it's era. Later added a sway bar which improved handling considerably, and a MOPAR limited slip diff. Biggest downer was the drum brakes. If you got on them hard at 120, by the time you got to 15 mph, you really didn't have any brakes until they cooled off. Man, I miss that car. If it was still on the road and same condition when I traded it in, I'd give $30,000 easily to get it back.

      There’s no GTX,not even a 426 HEMI run in the 12s stock.

Hopefully I'll be able to find one someday my grandfather bought one brand new in late 69 a year later he died hauling cars from Detroit. Supposedly he used to make that gtx sound like a automatic with his 4 speed dog leg. One day I hope I will get one.

    I had a 68 Coronet R/T 440 and a 70 Roadrunner 440 back in the 70's. Lord, I miss those cars. Now I have a 2020 Chevy Trail Boss LT with 420 hp...but just not the same.

I bought a brand new 1971 road runner 383, torqueflite, posi. Sublime green with black bench seat interior. Super, super fast for the time. Traded a 1969 Z28 in for it which I bought new. Wish I had them both now.

Oh my God... Look at the GTX in this commercial it's a 1970 just like my Roadrunner...and its burnt orange just like my first car was, 35 years ago when I bought my Roadrunner... It looked just like this GTX... Until it was destroyed in that drag race in 1980... This car is almost too heartbreaking to look at... it looks just how my car would have looked when it was brand new... Sigh...

In real life, he would have been skidding all over the road with those bias ply tires. I had a '71 Cougar and even with radial tires, I was skidding all over the road in just the tiniest of ice on the ground.

Being involved in the car culture during the 70's, that GTX looks kinda odd, with such skinny tires lol

Those were the stockers that came on it. Once it was yours' the meats went on, normally with Cragar SS's or brushed/polished slots.
