The day Freddie died was Thanksgiving Day in the USA. I was a young wife and mom. I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner when over ( I Believe) MYV I heard the announcement that Freddie had died. I cried while cooking the rest of that meal. When my youngest asked me why I was crying I told her that the world lost a very gifted and talented young man to an awful disease that we didn’t know how to cure. And that this cheated the whole world out of any future genius that Mr. Mercury might have still had to share. My family had grown so very large (11 grandchildren , 1great grandchild ) and they all know or will know about Freddie Mercury and Queen. RIP sweet Freddie Mercury. You are still a legend.

@@nicolevenvideos oh I understand your feelings but remember it’s good to be young. I’m 67 now. I would love to be able to replay my whole life. When I was 17/18 I missed a live Queen concert because I had to go to work. They hospital was short handed and I decided to not leave the patients high and dry so I didn’t go to the concert in Waterbury CT and instead went to work. I both regret it and don’t regret it. I’m so sad that I missed Freddie. But I’m proud that I put patient care first. You must be about the same age as my youngest child. All grown up now.

That’s a nice sentiment. But, Freddie passed on a Sunday- November 24, 1991. Thanksgiving in the US is always on Thursday & was November 28 in 1991.
@@BH-qy7mc I still believe I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Perhaps I was cooking for a family gathering on a Sunday because something had prohibited our gathering on the Thursday. We have a very large family and I know I was cooking a large dinner for a Thanksgiving celebration. We may have moved it to allow family time to get to CT from out of state. But I never lie so I stand by my statement.

Hello. Do you know that Mary Austin has already started an auction selling 1,500 items of Freddie's? I posted it earlier and got a response from Nicole that has this room and she didn't even know. And she lives London as well! That doesn't make any sense. When the announcement was posted on CZcams and other platforms here in the United States, the internet went crazy to say the least!!! Freddie gave her the mansion for a reason. She was there for him before being a legendary Rockstar, and he was broke, and no one else believed in him. She has every right to live in n that mansion as if it is hers.

I come from a generation that witnessed the rise of Queen. We fell in love with Queen's music and that love will never go away. In the fall of 2022, we were at Freddie's Garden Lodge. Mystical experience. Queen's music is the greatest love of my life. I listen to them every day and follow their progress. The name of the band says it all. Freddie isn't really dead because he's still alive in the band's work. Thank you boys for so many experiences and special thanks to the talent of Adam Lambert and John Deacon we remember. Mary Austin is having an auction through Sotheby’s and then selling the house. Mary raised her family there.
She’s definitely not doing it coz she’s broke. She got a huge payback from the film as they used her life story

She's only keeping personal gifts that Freddie gave her!! And then Garden Lodge will be sold, when everything inside is gone. I think Mary is terminally ill, because she said that she's got to "SELL THE LOT" in her lifetime. I don't know where Freddie and Queen's music, lyrics etc.will be sold. The bid right now is 1 Billion Dollars and it's said that it could sell for much more!! I left you a detailed comment with the information about the different auctions, locations and dates. It just started here in the USA in New York June 1-8, 2023, then Los Angeles June 14-18, 2023, then onto Hong Kong June 26-30, 2023.

Really talented musicians are Legends and Freddie Mercury must be the biggest of them all.... Sad thought that today Queen are lost without Freddie and it puzzles me why people accept the cheese that Adam Lambert fetches to Queen because he is not half as talented as Freddie was. Yes, as genuine fans know, Freddie left his house to Mary, and it is still Mary's home, so please be respectful.. I do understand people are curious, but hanging around recording and interviewing people, and even contemplating trying to get into a neighbour's house so you could peer into Mary's back garden and try and see into her house is just AWFUL. As most fans are aware, she's a very quiet, private person, and I'm sure while being understanding of fans' continuing enthusiasm, Freddie would NOT be happy at these kinds of intrusions and harassment of her neighbours and the stress this must cause his most special lady. If you do wish to visit, please everyone, just look around, take your photos, say a little prayer or send a wish and leave. After Mary goes, I believe her idea is (or was) to turn Garden Lodge into a museum dedicated to Freddie, so that would be the time when it may be possible to see more - not now, while it's still someone's private home. Love and peace to all.

Look, maybe you're on the spectrum or something (as I am) and it's difficult for you to grasp, so I don't want to be too harsh. But, maybe take a cue from the response of the majority of neighbours (as you described it) - they behaved with tact and decency, to refuse your intrusive requests for information, comment and even suggesting they allow you access to their homes for spying. Rich or poor, no doubt they feel very protective of their neighbour, as we would all hope our neighbours to be.
There is more to life than money, and Freddie worked damned hard for his, and gave at least as much as he got back from fans. Neither he nor Mary in particular, who just happened to love Freddie, owe you anything!

The thing that makes me sad about auction vs museum is the only people who get to enjoy them is the wealthy and his average fan will miss the chance.
so true. Seeing all these things was an experience and this would be a big success if its a museum. Essentially making even more profit. I don't understand what is going on and why this happened. No fans actually own anything but they cant even go and see it themselves. Fans made all this available in the first place, not rich folks
Mary Austin could have made a billion dollars if she made it a museum for people to walk through but I"m sure the neighbors did not want that because of all the traffic it would cause. Mary could have had another place for buses to pick up people and drop them off during working hours so it would not bother the neighbors when they were at work. Now it could never happen because Mary put all of his items up for auction at Sotheby"s.

There is also a doctored picture on the internet with Freddie next to Barbara Valentin, but someone put Princess Diana over it. At Live-Aid, Freddie was there and Diana was there with Charles, but he did not go speak with them. He wanted to be with his friends. Always verify a story before you post it online or else you end up looking like the liberal media in the US saying Trump was working for Russia.
