I live in Dallas. On May 28th at 6:01 A.M. my NOAA WEATHER alarm went off to alert me of a TORNADO WARNING for my area. I was surprised since the weather forecast for that day was only a 30% chance of rain. Things can change spontaneously, and when we may not expect it. Within minutes of being woken up, the wind and very heavy rains picked up. I heard tree branches popping and snapping outside, and the winds were 60 m.p.h., frequent lightning, with very heavy horizontal rain, and the sirens were sounding off. They are Federal Signal 2001-130 sirens that replaced our Thunderbolt sirens in 2006. While this rain was pouring down, visibility was only about 15 feet. I could hear high winds hitting the roof, which was scary. I lost power for a few minutes, then it came back on. It was also scary when the power was off and lightning was fiercely striking and loud thunder claps followed as the sirens were howling all at the same time! Some of my friends and co workers who live in nearby cities were with no power for a few days. I am editing my video of this for CZcams as I have time and will post it soon. This storm was big news for North Texas as it did lots of damage.

I can still hear the high pitched tone that old camcorders and CRTs make. i'm surprised I haven't lost that due to how loud i listen to music lol

I was woken up just before 5:00 because my phone was exploding with different warnings out near Des Moines. I saw the area where the Des Moines NWS had warned themselves for, and my immediate reaction was "Oh crap!" Ended up following TV / CZcams coverage all the way from there up until pretty much now. Still watching Quad Cities coverage in Illinois. This whole event just really threw me off because I know that this stuff happens, but in Iowa, especially this part, early morning tornado outbreaks are NOT common. Pretty familiar with it though (July 17, 2016, Vinton, Norway, Scott County at like 4:00 am). I was also just incredibly amazed by how big the warning boxes were getting by the time that the storms had gotten to the DVN coverage area. I can MAYBE remember an entire county being under a singular tornado warning only once or twice. Such a widespread severe weather event.
