I think it would have been awesome to have Vocals - Dead Guitar - Euronymous Bass - Varg Drumms - Hellhammer But sadly that never happened (no hate towards Atilla but Dead was more interesting) But this lineup is very close

De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas was infact release after Euronymous was killed with Vargs still on bass on the recordings even though Euronymous family beg to Hellhammer to take them down and re record them again with someone else. I guess the reason for them to release it like that was to gain more controversy to the band. Is the most iconic album of black metal history with victim and killer playing in the same album with songs written by a suicide front men, what is more metal than that? Dont forget the most famous bootleg which Euronymous helped put out Dawn Of The Black Hearts in which Dead appears with his brains blown out on the cover...
Hellhammer has stated they didn't know how to remove Varg's track without deleting Euronymous, so they kept it in the record bcs of that. Dunno if thats true tho

At this time Hellhammer was not a very close friend to Euronymous for obvious reason. Im a fan of Euronymous but he really was a trash person inside.
Hellhammer had no idea how to play bass and didn’t care enough to go through the hassle of finding someone who could rerecord it, so he just left Varg’s bass tracks intact.
@@mncdssctn9110 This is simple, is not about Hellhammer not finding someone who could play bass because he just could have bring back Necrobutcher to rerecord everything as every song was more than 5 years old or more in De Mysteriies Dom Sathanas album and Necrobutcher sure knew who to play them and he left the band right after Dead died because he was pissed off with Euronymous about what he did to Dead suicide scene and all the trash he was talking about Dead and about having the gun that Dead killed himself and him making necklaces with Dead real skull fragments from the scene. Hellhammer just wanted that darkness in the album because that is what made Mayhem but it was not because he didnt wanted to find another bass player because he sure did knew one who knew the songs very well. This guys all of them are dark people and they just like the dark history that surrounded the band back then.
Obvious was for advertisin, Euronymous was so, in fact he had the feeling that Vikernes was going to assassinate him so I would not be surprised that he had asked Hallhammer for that, in case of happen, he would leave the Vikernes lines.

Only Hellhammer and Attila did not have insane histories.
Euronymous did commit crimes. Encouraging someone to commit suicide, tampering with a crime scene, he assaulted people with a broken bottle, he is also believed to have been present at some of the church burnings, also believed to have plotted to murder Varg.

I don't see why so many people complain about Attila's vocals. The appreciation for Dead doesn't let you appreciate Attila's work. He vocals are so unusual and unique that I believe got fit so well that we will never have an album like Mysteriis. Dead left his legacy, but in terms of technique, surely Attila is ahead of his time.
