I know there are plenty of other parts to the Aphmau controversy, however, I am unsure if I will do another video going over it or not. This is a little out of my regular type of content, but I wanted to share this because I see a lot of interaction from Aphmau’s channel and there had been some serious buzz around OG Minecraft CZcamsrs lately and I thought I would add my thoughts to the mix. Once again, please do not send hate or harassment towards anyone-this video is just food for thought. Thank you for watching.

Old og aph fan here, and I can definitely see where you’re coming from with those problematic topics/decisions. Though since aph’s series are what got me to want to be a writer in the first place it’s a neat learning moment to look back and see how things could be improved. Probably my fav thing about the fan base is the many different rewrites people have bc there’s so many ways you can improve upon the story depending on what you wanna focus on
Oh yeah, I completely agree! It’s a lot of fun seeing fan content. I also was inspired by MCD to start writing my own work, I just find the downfall of her content integrity to be upsetting for the og fans. But I suppose if this is the path she wants to take, then she may, it’s her choice and her channel after all 💔
@@dexerli yeah I can see that, tho if she enjoys the stuff she puts out I can’t really knock her for the change. But I do miss her old style of content and the more story based stuff
I was a major Aphmau man when I was younger and felt absolutely insane because no one else remembers a series of tweets from Jason saying it would be “whoring Aphmau” out for her to have more time with other love interests,, and then confirming that Aaron and Aphmau had a “one night stand much” within a children’s series to say why it wasn’t forced writing- and I looked today and turns out those were real ass tweets.
It’s insane how most of this stuff was right under our noses just because we were so young at the time. Now it’s the same thing all over again but through content farm videos. I’m hoping this video spreads enough awareness to hopefully protect the kids on CZcams

The zane and travis ship came from a game episode, like hide and seek or prop hunt. I dont remember the details anymore, but i definitely remember that.
So... is no one gonna mention how Aphmau heavily implied there was an incest ship in MyStreet? In case anyone forgot, Aph's dad (I forgot his name) was raging at Travis's dad for getting Aph killed and he responded by saying how Aph's dad was so willing to put Ein in harms way so Travis's dad just assumed he'd do the same with Aph and then he straight up says "What allows you to value the life of one of your children over the other?" indicating the Ein and Aph are half-siblings as they have the same dad. This is explained when Katelyn's mom states that Aph's dad is cheating on Sylvanna with another woman, so that makes Ein and Aph half siblings... and yet they were in a sort of romantic relationship, and Ein even had legitimate romantic feelings for her... and has mad at Aaron because of those feelings... I know they don't know, but it's a pretty disgusting thought to think about... though the ship isn't as bad as it would be if they were blood related siblings 🤢

I used to ship Septiplier as a kid. I often look back at those times with cringe and embarrassment, even if so many kids were like me.
I completely agree with Septiplier being gross and bad. Plus, it was what brought me and my worst ex together. At least that experience really drove me away from Septiplier.

I’m so late to watching this video but I use to look forward to watching Aphmau videos everyday in middle school! I eventually grew out of her but that period of videos exposing all the things 12 year old me just didn’t understand at the time shocked me. Great video!!

Yes. I remember waiting for the moment she would post a video. I started watching her newer stuff after I ran out of mystreet, and I slowly found myself bored and avoiding watching her videos, and I realized that I had seen the same thumbnail and title just with a new flavor multiple times. I'm not sure how to feel about her older videos, but I still like the videos where she would play uno and they would just be themselves. I definitely remember being annoyed with the sheer amount of love interests Aphmau had, but this series still has a ton of nostalgia for me because it took up a good chunk of my childhood.
In the transition point between good and elsagate also had my fave series of hers, that being My Inner Demons, which probably had some iffy stuff but was pretty good. I'd honestly be curious to see if you have any thoughts on that one

Personally, I loved Aphmau’s Year. I went through an extremely similar situation (a very close friend and loved one was taken to a mental health facility for over a year that didn’t allow communication with non-family). It was so comforting and brought me a tiny amount of peace in a torturous time in my life
also it's even weirder to me that not only was Ian really creepy in his "pursuit of Aphmau" he was also revealed to be her half-brother in season 7 which.... was just weird.
Love your art but damn everytime I think about how Aphmau was 14/15 and Aaron was 19 (super senior) and how it's based off her relationship irl where she was confirmed to be 15 when they met online I lose 1 month off my lifespan

Everything got so insane at some point, season 1 was really the only good season of my street and the quality didn’t even have the chance to reach its peak

I was such a huge fan of hers when MyStreet was being made! I completely agree, the things she did were really weird and gross. I actually never realized the incest thing with her and Ian. but honestly I think a lot of the things were coming for a good place and she just executed them VERY poorly. obviously that doesn't excuse her actions but I'd like to think she's grown since then and moving on has been the best thing for her. she seems to love what she does now, even if her new videos are nothing like the ones she used to make
I agree with this, and I get where your coming from but, I would also like to say that this was 8 years ago, and it was for children.( Teenagers) Aphmau totally did queer bait, and was wierdly sexual at times but, recently she has sorta apolgized for the shipping stuff. At least some of it.
I wanna say 2 things, 1 I lthink my street was never meant to be shown by younger kids and 2 I mostly agree on all the things you have said and sadly I still like aphmau because her new videos have so much color that I can force on it.
