- Sky News contributor Emily Carver says Kensington Palace's latest update on Princess Catherine’s health battle is “worrying”.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson revealed the Princess is ‘not expected’ to return to work until she’s ‘cleared’ by her medical team.
Ms Carver however flagged the remarks as “worrying” as the Palace earlier in the year had revealed the Princess of Wales would return to public duties after easter.
“We're quite a bit past that point now, so it is worrying,” Ms Carver told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
I wish people would give Catherine space to recover. I’m going through cancer treatment and it’s exhausting, scary and worrying for all my family. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for Catherine having to hear about what the media and especially social media are spreading about her. Going through cancer is something I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy , there’s no quick cure for cancer unfortunately and everyone reacts differently to the treatment . I hope Catherine isn’t reading the stories that are being told about her and she recovers in her own time as long as that may take

In late 2022 I had abdominal surgery and chemotherapy for 6 months afterward. It has taken over one year to recover any semblance of stamina! Leave the Princess of Wales alone; the process is brutal.

@@jdog2345 Thank you. The maintenance drug is much easier to tolerate than the chemo and is so far working well. That is all the doctors will tell me. But I feel for the Princess of Wales because the treatment has lots of consequences that destroy your stamina; she needs time. If King Charles had radiation, his stamina recovery would have been a bit easier; or so I think.

The time frame 'after Easter' was given after her surgery. When she was diagnosed with cancer, it is common sense that she will remain unavailable for a longer period due to the chemo treatment.

The date of Catherine returning after Easter was regarding her ABD surgery. It is now extended due to her cancer diagnosis. The announcer’s should know this.
They knew she had cancer when they made that surgery announcement. Remember, she had already been diagnosed. The palace is botching up the PR. That's the issue. They keep saying she doing well then, oh wait.

I wish people would calm down. Catherine said she had to recover from abdominal surgery before preventative treatment could begin. This is about Catherine's medical team making sure she is fit to resume her duties. No surgery is the same, no recovery time is the same & no cancer treatment, (even if is preventative) is the same.

Cancer can not be healed in a couple of weeks. I was diagnosed in Oct last year n I have not been cured and am still recovering from chemo while doing radiation.

You’d be out and about and trying to live normally. I was at a party last week for someone with stage four cancer. She’s terminal but living life. Same age as Kate. One of the guests was also going through chemo. He was there having a good time. Locking oneself away is bizarre.
If she can be seen out and about at a farm , striding ahead quicklly ,and sitting on a bench , she's not incapacitated. There's no reason she cannot attend some small event . Either those pics were fake , or there's something seriously " off"

The statement that indicated that she would return around Easter was released just after her surgery BEFORE she learned of the cancer diagnosis, BEFORE she learned she had to start preventative chemotherapy.

The Palace did not say exactly when she would return, only that it would be after Easter, not the day after Easter or the week after Easter. The exact date is an open question.

Stupid video this. The Easter statement was when there was no cancer diagnosis. William has said she is doing well, and is doing more engagements, very relaxed, even abroad. She has been working on some projects at home, as was seen last week. And Rebecca English and Katie Nicholl have both independently confirmed from multiple sources that Catherine has turned a corner, is doing much better and has been seen out and about (but not on public duties). So things are clearly looking up, now let her recover until she feels good and well enough. Her health and family are what matters now, but these are good signs.
No, the Easter statement did not occur entirely before the cancer diagnosis. The Palace reiterated this timeline (return after Easter) in a second statement on February 29, six weeks after the surgery. By then, all the test results would have been in and the treatment plan for Catherine would have been known. And the palace still announced that she would return after Easter.

I’ve cried ever since the worrying speculation got even worse and I’m now emotionally exhausted. I’ve been up with Woody for 48 hours after telling him it might not be looking good for the Princess of Wales and his reaction was pretty gut wrenching to hear him cry for the first time in 2 years since the Queens death in 2022 really upset him. We’ve not had great sleep for 2 days

The Easter return date was for her abdominal surgery. Doctors discovered the cancer AFTER that return date was announced. I don't believe that there was a return date mentioned after that, just that she had cancer and was undergoing treatment.
My auntie was a cancer survivor, after her surgery, during chemo & life time medication and recovery, she was advice by doctor to rest and avoid as much possible going out. So let princess do what's been told to her and we wish her speedy recovery🙏🏻

The Easter date was when the surgery was just that. It wasn't until the biopsy after the surgery it was extended. She would've had to wait at least a month (usually 6 weeks) after the surgery before they'd even start chemo and it often runs for months. Also, they would want her to have time to recover weight and strength. The treatments alone could take 6 months (without complications) and then up to another 6 months to get back to "camera" ready. Also, her kids are of an age other kids will talk so lets not speculate where they might hear scary things.

For goodness sakes, Catherine, Princess of Wales will return to her royal duties when she is well and ready to do so and it is most disrespectful of anyone to even comment or ask ‘When’. Anyone, even with half intelligence, surely would know treatment and recovery of any illness, particularly of a cancer treatment can take a long period to completely regain one’s total strength and wellbeing even after the treatment itself has completed and that is a comment from someone who has experienced life saving treatment. In many cases 18 months is not considered a short period before one might even be comfortable to resume light duties of a family nature only, meaning being seen only in the context of private family outings.

@@Whatt787 I do not know if she is improving. I have been close to several people who were diagnosed with cancer each of the people had different experiences and different outcomes. It is impossible to know how she is doing and where she is on her journey. If she was not a member of the RF and the object of a smear campaign launched by her brother in law and sister in law her story would be much different. It would be private and personal. Since none of my acquaintance were famous their journey was not complicated by speculation and negative thoughts by so many people. Their journey was just the pain of the disease and treatment. And that journey was tough for them and the people that loved them during that journey. I am sure that does apply to PC as she continues her journey of healing. I wish her and her loved ones peace and healing.
The original announcement that referred to her being away from public facing duties until after Easter (note they didn't say just before Easter, at Easter or at the Easter service like many have tried to say). She also asked for privacy while she was convalescing.
She was then later diagnosed with cancer cells being present. The news came to them on the same day as King Constantines memorial which is why Prince William pulled out so last minute so he could support his wife yet he was criticised heavily for missing it.
The public were not told until the day the schools broke up for Easter break so they could protect their children. During her announcement she said she wouldn't be returning until she was cleared and asked AGAIN for privacy for herself and her family while she got well.
So my question...why do the media keep trying to make out like its some new news that she is not returning until she has finished her treatment? Why is that so difficult for journalists to grasp? People keep comparing her to the king but its completely different. She had a more invasive surgery that needed a much longer hospital stay and home recovery time than a prostate surgery. Just leave her alone and stop trying to harrass her into going back to work.

Being in remission is not to be confused with being cancer free. it just means that your cancer lays dormant.
Actually, the one presenter was incorrect. If I remember, the statement that she would be back "after Easter" was given when she was going in for the abdominal surgery. At that time, they discovered the presence of cancer. When that announcement was made, no timeline was given as it would totally depend on how the cancer responds to treatment. I am from the US, and I miss seeing Princess Catherine's beautiful smile and her out and about as well.
She didn’t know she had cancer until well after her operation, yes, we all want to see her but we want her to be really well when we do, she’s working at home but obviously the toll of taking on full Royal duties is more than she can cope with at the moment. Catherine has a unique important role in life to get strong for, plus she wouldn't want to worry her family if she came back too soon to the responsible job she has. I wouldn't be surprised either if the King and Prince William are ensuring that she has the maximum leave possible, so that she's protected from all the zooming in of cameras which is bound to happen, as presenters "scrutinise" every fine detail of her face or demeanour. @Whatt787 I doubt that , there is no reason not to tell us , in fact it would stop all the speculation. The reality is that noone really knows why she hasn't been seen, they keep moving the goal posts .
I suspect, like a lot of people, the surgery wasn't planned , it was emergency and may have been the result of " something else " ( make what you like of that!) . Kate could very well not be around , or compromised somehow because of reasons unknown, but definitely not cancer.
Noone needs a year off for abdominal surgery and pre cancerous cell's chemo.
At the very least she would have made an appearance, and not these AI or grainy looking videos that definitely were not her.
I have been in post operative preventaive chemo fof over a year for precancerous cells. They say it was succesdful but I still feel like shit, had to sell my business and lost interest in outside the front gate. I was even worse after my colon cancer operation ten years ago. It took 5 years to recover.

Until you truly understand what cancer treatment does to the body, you'll just have to take it from me that it's NOT a walk in the park, and I presume Princess Catherine is having several rounds of chemo, which can get harder as they continue. Please please just stop going on about her not being "seen" there's no way you'd want to be seen either, and the Princess is going to be put under a microscope. After her treatment is complete she then has to get herself fit and well....chemotherapy has a poisonous affect on the body in case you didn't know. The side effects are multiple and horrible so stop this nonsensical rubbish. I'd be surprised if we see her before Christmas.

Oh for goodness sake! The Easter timeline was given following her surgery but BEFORE it was known she had cancer and needed chemo treatment. Stop with the speculation and leave her to recover in peace

I don't think she will return...Charles has been seeing in the hospital, everywhere while battling cancer but Princess Catherine might be gone. I think she had enough. She went through so much abuse (media, markles) and I've seen some videos of her when WIlliam was not treating her well while she kept cool. Beautiful Princess Catherine was strong for too long, ALWAYS kept a positive spirit and smiled when she didn't feel like smile, sacrifised her life for RF, but now its time for her to heal (months, years, forever), and maybe live the life she wants not what the RF wants. I can't imagine what this woman had or still has to go through behind the big palace walls. Media, please stop chasing up the news about her, maybe focus on where are the harkles kids and what happened there. Just kidding. No one cares.
I don't follow the royals much...but she seems like such a dedicated, authentic, sensible individual. Really troubling that she could be knocked down when she is the picture of health, fitness, wellness too. Hope she makes a comeback and has many good decades ahead.
Can you not get the police to do a proof of life visit? We also have not seen Charlotte and Louis. Please. The world is watching for her every day. Surely there is some accountability for the royal family in 2024. We want to know what has happened to Kate???
