If that was her first time helming a sailboat in breeze and waves, she's a complete natural ... I know you were playing the main to maintain a reasonable heel angle, but, in the beginning bit, she was steering up into the waves and away after going over the top - that takes anticipation and a lot of seat-of-the-pants feel. Outstanding!
Lizzie is definitely a fast learner!
A sporty day, looks like you folks had fun and a Guinness drinker.. these things are rare finds. ; }
Definitely a good weekend on the water! Guinness is a must too!
That´s how you learn sailing. GJ Greatings from the Germany Elberiver.
That looked pretty hairy, plus lots of fun. Well done Lizzie
Awesome and no puking. 😂
Good job of keeping her footing! Lizzie really seemed to get a feel for the boat. Well done.
solid episode mate ... oh and I learned about small boats momentum and waves... 😂 awesome
Yeah the momentum is key! Thanks I really appreciate it!
Great helming in those conditions, well done!
Good sailing!!
I love all the friends go sailing with you on this little boat. I couldn't imagine, my 27 feels small when I have 2 or 3 people with me.
I thought the same before the trip. Was definitely a tight fit.
You guys trip me out!
27’ is a palace. I sail with 3-4 on my Montgomery 17 quite often on Lake Erie and there’s plenty of space. I’ve had a 30’er and the 17’ gets sailed much more than the 30 ever did.
mmmm sssspicy!
It definitely was!
Great Job Izzy :)
Great video Alex, your friend is a natural and your right about small boat's, there great fun.
Yes they are!
New viewer and subscriber here really like your channel and love the way you launch and recover your boat.
Welcome aboard! It’s definitely an interesting boat recovery system.
Looks fun!
Alex great sailing and yes Lizzie did an excellent job. Not sure how your other friends managed to get see sick dam sure i would have.😜😜
Yeah that surprised me too!
I do love a bit of wind against tide upwind bashing 😂. Your crew handled it well. Looking forward to seeing your trip to Lulworth.
Cheers!
These are brilliant. Thankyou for sharing your adventures
Thank you for watching them. Plenty more adventures to come!
Bravi! Be prudent with strong wind! 🎉😊
I love ur videos, small channel like this bring a real sailing content. I'd love to see more video on upgrades and bits u install on the boat such as the Raymarine Autopilot. Im getting a small sailboat too to start, I would really enjoy to go for a sail with you on it, i need to learn so many things about sailing. Maybe some video/lessons on the boat on how to sail would be nice too. Keep up the good quality content
Thank you! Good luck with the new boat and hopefully you get out on the water soon!
She did great...👍👍👍👍👍
Came from OYZ!
Glad to see you!!!
Love it⛵️😎
Outstanding mate. I really need to pull my finger out and get on it with this sailing malarkey. I'm leaning towards 23ft to 26 ft as a first boat. Would keep moored though as no off road space at my gaff to trailer sail. Plus 2 to 3 hours from nearest coast etc
Do it!!! Great choice on the size as you will have the right ratio comfort to ease of handling and also cost!
@@AlexGoesSailing thanks mate. A lot of research has led me to believe it's a good size for my needs.
@@seanmurray8051 a small boat is all you need for coastal unless you always have loads of people aboard.
@Alex Goes Sailing yh that was my thinking. I have ambitions to go long term cruising but one thing at a time. Eventually something like a rival 32/34, contessa, Nicholson, Sadler, starlight etc need experience first though.
@@seanmurray8051 all good choice’s! Definitely not starter boats like you say. Maybe go for an Albin vega as a good option for a starter.
I read 25 kts in a 21' sailboat. Missed the word wind. :D
Now that would be a wild video!
i'm normally going to Samos Island - Greece. It is a wonderful island, very quiet, not for people that mostly like night life, YES for people that like wind sports life . Easy life. not hurry, good prices, very very good people. Come to Samos! At the south side of the island there is a (private ??) british sailing school utilizing QS boats.
I'm 84 years old, from Italy. I love sailing but ......... now ......... at reduced speed (unfortunately). Sorry for my british. cordially mike
I will have to visit at some point!
She either has complete confidence in her instructor, or she's just fearless. Either way, she's good for the channel. Glad she's making a second appearance.
A bit of both probably! There will be a third appearance at the end of the season for a special trip!
@@AlexGoesSailing I'll be watching, just like always.
Hey alex i thought you had a vid explaining your unique trailer system. Can you direct me to it please.
Best thing to go is go on the boat diy playlist that I have as there are a few different ones that go over different bits of it.
your helmsmen did great. that bilge keeler is a tank!
Thanks Tom!
Very good sailing bravo to all of you . since I have a westrly centaur and planing to build a trailer i would appreciate if you could give us a close look of your all the best from Greece
Thank you!!!
Alex always having a good time
Always!😁
Great to see you local in Chichester Harbour and a stiff breeze for a small boat but a great days sailing had by all. May I ask where you purchased your solar panel brackets and what they are called? Happy sailing.
Thank you! Made the bracket’s myself but I did buy the panels.
@@AlexGoesSailing Ok great stuff well they look like they will do the job well
quite choppy to stay inside ;-p
I know 😂
