Sacbé - Tri: Neo. Dimensiones (2021)

To continue the Sacbé marathon for today, this is now the sixth part of the marathon.
Embark on a sonic journey through time with Sacbé's "Tri - Neo. Dimensiones," a masterful fusion of jazz, Latin rhythms, and avant-garde exploration. Originally recorded in 2007 as a raw rehearsal session in Minneapolis, this album gained new life and vibrancy in 2021. Following the untimely passing of Eugenio and Fernando Toussaint, brother Enrique Toussaint orchestrated a poignant reunion, infusing new energy into the tracks with reedman Jon Crosse and percussionist Armando Montiel.
From the opening notes of "Steinberg," where Eugenio Toussaint's piano and Fender Rhodes set a hypnotic groove, to the expansive melodies of "Iztaccihuatl," each track on "Tri - Neo. Dimensiones" resonates with the band's four decades of musical evolution. Enrique Toussaint's bass anchors the compositions while Fernando Toussaint's dynamic drumming drives the rhythm forward. Jon Crosse's wind instruments add a celestial layer of depth, particularly on tracks like "Jaco," where his improvisations soar alongside Armando Montiel's intricate percussion.
This album is not just a recording; it's a testament to the enduring spirit of Sacbé, capturing the essence of their live performances and the profound camaraderie between its members. "Tri - Neo. Dimensiones" stands as a tribute to the band's legacy, showcasing their ability to seamlessly blend genres and push the boundaries of contemporary jazz.
