a big shoutout to the person who is editing these sample videos
Hell Yeah !
Fr man
yess to whoever made this channel ur amazing
@@Yesn0maybe FactzđŻ
I love it so much
Ohio Players sample turned the song into a hit
Ong
hi bandstand
czcams.com/video/FYpAIYJyZNQ/video.html
You just can't beat the funk
Ohio players are the best
truly there is a art to sampling
when we were doing it in the 80's and 90's it wasnt considered art ... they called us niggers and thieves .... but now its being taught at universities and studied on youtube
@@jhonezcronic ok
@@jhonezcronic Derivative art has been around for a long time, actually, and before the era of recordings. Some people are just very slow to learn, or they're arrogant and stupid.
@@jhonezcronic They did the same thing to jazz music....
And don't you ever forget it.đđœ
WTF! I was today years old learning there's that many samples in this song
word bro this lowkey blew my mind
The 90s was truly the era of sampling
Right!!!!! 7 secs or less. Was the key after Biz Markie and DelA. Wow
Same,
Same
Jermaine Dupri is a God level producer who doesnât get the props he deserves. He should be talked about way more.
Because a lot of so so def artists had terrible contracts and they owed the label a lot of money
Um i remember him getting mad props - hell didn't he go out with a jackson? Yeah i think that speaks for itself...
Heâs a GOAT. Few can mess with his catalogue
Right.
He is the best producer in the last 30 years. To me. He has hits after hits.
He can get the party started and keep it going for probably days.
He doesn't get the recognition he deserves
@@demetriushayes9862 two words: Scott Storch
I didn't know they sampled a Jackson 5 song. Dope đ„đ„đ„
Huh? I always thought it was pretty obvious when I was younger
I can hear it from the very beginning lol
How young are you
Like 30 years?
When I first heard it back in the summer of 1992, I knew because the piano riff gave it away.
I love how Kris Kross sampled Jackson 5, who both had child artists, so itâs like a passing of one generation to another
I love that analogy!
and jump was sampled in phoenix by daft punk
I guess you could say it was Another Bad Creation ;)
@@VXNCENT-PLAYA 1. that was revolution 909
2. no they didn't, that was disproven long ago. the original sample was found recently.
@@eznd i see
I never noticed the Cypress Hill sample đ€Ż
it's getting drowned
Me neither and I still canât hear it
@@sh0gun77 it's mostly drums, the higher frequencies are blotted out by the ohio players sample
Was that originally sampled from something else?
@@exerciserelax8719 www.whosampled.com/Cypress-Hill/How-I-Could-Just-Kill-a-Man/samples/
They sampled from the 60s, 70s and 90s, even sampled other rap... that's crazy
I've always thought that Jermaine having the ear to loop that specific part of "I Want You Back" was fucking genius.
Today was a good day, Tracklib released another sample breakdown
Proof that you donât need to chop and get fancy to make a killer song.
@CHARLES 13X theyre chopped to quantize individual parts but all of them are still played in the same way the original loops are
@CHARLES 13X its moreso chopped so everything can be quantized but yeah subtle stuff like that can make a difference
weird comment, basically saying just play back someone else's hit to make a killer song... very strange argument there buddy...
Well thatâs obvious. Puffy and Bad Boy proved that. Itâs about being âcreativeâ(and hiding samples so not to get sued đ€)
Nah not a SONG a BEAT.
I bet JD paid a big check for them samples, this track had some speakers knocking. I got all their albums still bump them from time to time rip C. Kelly đŻđŻ
Nah. The sampling laws didnât get really heavy like that until January 1994. Thatâs why there are so many albums from prior to that time that have upwards of 6 samples per song. Think Beastie Boys, Public Enemy. JD wouldnât have been able to make and release this song a year and a half later
No regrets on sampling for this song.
czcams.com/video/w86rotpPU1Q/video.html
WOW. Would have never guessed there were 4 samples used in this. That's a lot of money that was used to clear them I assume.
They probably didn't clear them lmao
as i understand it, generally drumsamples don't need to be cleared at all and the jackson 5 sample is only 3 notes, so might be just small enough to not require clearing. just funky worm to clear then i guess.
Life was very very different in 1992.
In the 90s using samples like that was usual without clearing them until some sueing happened. Great experimentation was done in that wild west era.
Theres also a Digtal Underground "Humpty dance sample, there are more samples check who sampled website
i find it cool how they managed to make the melodies not clash... i mean itâs easier now than then
I knew they sampled the Ohio Players but I never knew the main piano riff came from the Jackson 5 đ
this beat is crazy
This is really interesting on how the samples reflect the act. Bubble gum pop, harder hip hop and dunk roots. Brilliant to put them together. Really cool way to show it in this video as well.
Incredible!!! One of the Kriss Kross guys passed away a few years ago.
Chris Kelly
why am i only finding out about that?
i love this channel â€ïž
I find it interesting how it went from one kid group, the Jackson 5, to the kids of Kriss Kross.
A true classic in the hip-hop genre.
This song is a classic I had no idea it was a sample of such great songs too
It was a bit commercial at the time but this sounds better than any hiphop in the last 2 decades, probably going on 3 by the end of this one.
Damn shoutout to the producer bro đ
Jermaine Dupri turned those samples and that group into a hit.
And many other groups and songs
This beat was improvised in nipsey hussle's hussle in the house
This is the best visual analyzation of the tracks and which parts were used and when Iâve ever seen.
Youâve got real brains and talent, my dude. đŻ
That drum pattern sounded so familiar, I think it was used in many hip hop beats đŻ
Hundreds. Thereâs an app called âwho sampledâ that song shows 802 samples. Thereâs probably a lot more that arenât credited though.
This is a good series on discovering these samples. And it's making me realize that these producers that put these samples together from different songs are really geniuses !
Im at the restaurant at my job and theyre literally playing jackson 5 i want you back in the background as i clicked on this.
lol the timing is crazy.
Took me bout 30 sum'n years to find out the many samples of this song. Wow.
This might be my new favorite channel đ©đ„đ„ I HAD NO IDEA that this had 4 samples working together effortlessly. I knew Cypress Hill & J5 tho.
In late 90s and early 2000s J Dupri was one of the best nodoubt
This song came out years before that. This 1992
Knew all the songs sampled, never knew they were used for this. Damn
You're onto something with this channel. I've been subbed for 6 months, have watched it grow and enjoyed every video. Pretty rare for a CZcams channel for sure
That amazing artist sampling is why I wore my jeans and White Sox jersey backwards for about a week.
đ€Ł
I had the cassette tape of this album as a kidâŠgood timesđą
Love this channel. Your editing is AMAZING and the education that you give is truly refreshing.
This was dope! Never knew this many samples where being utilized. Props to whoemever is doing these visual graphicsâŠit really helps understand the whole cohesion of the samples.
This channel is so unbelievably dope
This one just blew my mind.
Hey Tracklib, I've probably watched this video 20 times now and I'm still shocked at the genius of it. Lots of good 90s era RnB & Hip Hop so please do more Sample Breakdowns, thx!
Genius! Whoever put all those samples together
Jermaine Dupree
Jermaine Dupri is the producer
This is definitely my favorite breakdown
Love how visual this is. Great animation.
A great hip hop track! Such a classic! It's even better now that I know the bass riff was from a Jackson 5 song! Love it!
As each track is being pieced, in my mind I can make out where it lies/over-laps/over-lays in the beat. Love it! Subscribed.
This channel is so amazing!
That same drum pattern was also used by Salaam Remi on Nasâs âI Canâ
And literally over 1000 others. It has 800+ uses on whosampled alone, and that's just the cleared stuff.
Aaaahh amazing content!!!đŻđŻ
That is so cool! Know the songs, never thought about the samples being used.
bigup Tracklib for this video. It just shows if you are creative and understand what you are doing, you can make great music from samples. Great video!
Such simplicity. Great share
