Umm... The tune of the "Red River Jig" has roots more in French-Canadian music, "La grande gigue simple", adopted by the Métis, and then making it's way up the Mackenzie River and across the Arctic.. When I lived in Ulukhaktok and Inuvik for a total of 17 years I must've heard it every day, and I never got tired of hearing it, And let's have some applause for the fiddler, right?
