As a Kenyan this new development is comical, epically so, because our police are quite inept at policing their own citizens as they are adept at terrorizing them. Futhermore, Kenyan police are underpaid, housed in abhorrent conditions & even though they do the bidding for the Kenyan elite, they affored little in monetary compensation, hence their perpetual bribery schemes. They do keep the status quo quite well despite being hostage to a state of penury.
On the other hand, they seem the most logical force to venture to Haiti, language & cultural barriers aside, because of their virtuosic ability to police and terrorize black folk, with a speciality in extrajudicial killings. Not that they employ a british form of Miranda right but can you imagine a Kenyan cop yelling some sort of miranda right phrase in a language Haitians don't speak. Shout out to America for sub-contracting their neo-colonial project. I understand the hubris of our comical Kenyan president but how is Joe Biden selling this? I'd probably make more sense with Obama at the helm :)

Jah & Jahes love. This is very well written and I really appreciate your insights and perspectives. I feel that this is another neo-colonial project by the U.S. and its allies in Europe, Canada, and Latin America. They're using the Kenyan police forces because they are more comfortable with black-on-black criminal acts. Dr. Jemima Pierre Jafrikayiti Jean Elissaint Saint Vil and some others have written very well about this pending invasion. And, I'm very hopeful that the current Court Case to stop the deployment of these Kenyan police forces to Ayiti will succeed. Ruto just wants attention and he and his wife are puppets.

3/Does USA have United Nations mandate to militarly intervene in Haiti?
4/Did Haiti ask for Kenyan intervention?

@@polloz77 I am not sure what to make of your comment. It has more rhetoric than facts. Kenya has a 70% debt to GDP ratio, which is high for Africa , however, it is not out of control. Our budget is in the range of $15 billion annually much of which is paid for through taxes, and the rest is paid for through domestic borrowing as well as the global financial markets. Very little of the Kenyan budget is aid, because Kenya is a middle income economy so foreign aid is not available due to the classification of the economy. Ruto's trip to the US has not changed any of these fundamentals. We have a debt ceiling of 72% to GDP and no loans foreign or domestic can be legal if they exceed this parameter. In June we will be paying off $3 billion for a Euro Bond that is coming due and that leaves plenty of room for more borrowing before we reach the debt ceiling. The Kenyan Economy is solid, with better than average growth, and huge potential in many important sectors. I am not the Finance Minister, and I am not a Government Paid Blogger. This Brian dude isn’t fully informed about Haitian gang problem. For starters, Haitian armed gangs didn’t really pop up due to poverty or government ineptitude. Haitian armed gangs were recruited as political enforcers for rival parties and the elites. It’s actually an unintended legacy of the Tonton Macoute from Duvalier era. Even President Aristide had sponsored a gang called the Chimeres. And no, the PHTK (President Martelly’s party) didn’t start the gang problem back in 2011. It was already there. They just tapped into it. However, now that Haiti has no elected government, the armed gangs have gone rogue. They use the weapons provided to them by their sponsors to create autonomous zones and took over the capital.

As a Black American I can assure you that unfortunately they are using Kenya to justify what they plan on doing in Haiti. It’s divide and conquer and they’ve already given a nice stimulus package. They all of a sudden want to work with Howard (VP Kamala, Jamaican American) and other top HBCUs on a STEM program for exchange students. They are going to make Haiti seem like they don’t want to advance and so they will pay for different countries to come in and weaken it until they get the Haitian figure head they want that can work them the G-20 or they will all find the way to take control of Haiti’s finances again.
Haitian need to stick together like Burkino Faso and Mali and then get everybody out and start over from the ground up with no outside influences. The in-fighting each other is a losing battle.
