Since your train reached Barog Station in the late evening and as darkness set in You could not enjoy and take the Video of the Longest Barog Tunnel . This Tunnel outer view can be Seen from Barog Station itself. Views from Vistadome coach were simply spectacular and lovely. These view we cannot enjoy when we travel by Road. Fully Loved and enjoyed this Digital travel with you.

Hi Ajay: Very nice video of Shimla Kalka journey by the toy train. This is on my list of things to do. By the way, it looks like you have started reading Hindi too. You are correct. The name of that station was Barog in English and written as Badog in Hindi. a lot of places, names etc., that are written with the letter "r" in English are pronounced as "d" in Hindi. For example, Chandigarh is pronounced as :Chandigad" and the name Chopra is pronounced as "Chopda". It is neither "ra" or "da" but closer to "da".

Calcutta & Kalka were connected by the Britishers because Calcutta happened to be capital of East India Company, hence Calcutta was the winter capital & Shimla was the summer capital of the Britishers. Hence 12311/12312 was previously known as the "Kalka Mail". Later Ministry of Railways, Govt of India changed the name of "Kalka Mail" as "Netaji Express" as a tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary. The Kalka Mail was a first premium train used by the Britishers. Hence its name was changed as "Netaji Express".

கல்கா -- சிம்லா காலை 8.50 --- 12.30 பிற்பகல் சென்று அடைந்தோம். மறக்க முடியாத நினைவு அது. குப்ரி பயணம் ஸ்நோ அற்புதமான அனுபவம்.
This heritage engine KC520 was commissioned in 1906. Steam engines were used to drive trains till 1970 before being replaced by diesel engines. The steam engine was withdrawn from service in 1971 and rehabilitated in 2001.
