Buster’s comedic timing was spot on! 👌
We have had a lot of brilliant British comedies over the years, some possibly giving inspiration to only fools and horses which is the very best.
John Sullivan has cited the great TV sitcom writers of the 60’s and 70’s as influences....Galton and Simpson, Johnny Speight, Clement and LaFrenais
The ones that stand out for me are the chandeliers, inflatable dolls, the bar scene and Batman and Robin. I've watched those episodes hundreds of times and they still have me in stiches.
Steptoe & Son was an inspiration to Only Fools & Horses they even used some of the same props, the Bear and Skeleton, and some of the storylines was similar.

The first 15 minutes of this episode (including this scene, and ringing in sick for Rodney) was Albert at his funniest - brilliant!
Albert: "He's the . . "HE'S THE HEAD OF THE COMPUTER SECTION . . . Yeah that's 'im 🤣 "He wont be in today 'coz he's got a bellyache 🤣
That last line from Uncle Albert is awesome 😂😂😂

This episode was the first time we got to see behind that door 🚪😂 good old uncle Albert . A bank manager for 40 yrs with no acting experience before he played this part ! . Turns out he was a natural ! . R.I.P. Buster ❤🙏

One of my most favourite all-time scenes with Buster is when he tells the story of why he was court-martialed for dereliction of Duty 😄
Albert : " I remember when I was in the crow's nest we'd only been sailing for about half an hour and we crashed right into an aircraft carrier!
Del: "You didn't see an aircraft carrier? 42000 tonnes of steel 😂
Albert: Well we wasn't close enough 🤣🤣🤣
Rodney: "You must've been reasonably close Unc, you 'it it 😂
Albert: "Well, the other vessel wasn't showing any lights they wasn't allowed to there was a war on . . . and THEN they tried to get me on Naval technicalities like, well . . it was in broad daylight 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He’d not done any TV but he’d done loads of stage stuff in Am-Dram
The best thing since sliced bread. I love Only Fools and Horses, always have and always will :))
They dont make them like this now , just pure classic comedy !!

@@milligan8838 The ones I have are about 18 minutes longer than some of the others. All the VHS tape’s I gave away to a guy in. Northampton and they were all the original ones from the very first showing. Was going to BIN them but saw it on Facebook that someone was looking for some copies.
