The Royal Enfield Interceptor and Continental GT 650 have remained largely unchanged in the 5+ years since they were first shown. But they’ve had just about enough charm, character and value to have remained successful despite this. In that time, though, other bikes in the RE lineup have taken big steps forward, so these two haven’t really been offering the flagship experience they should. The company has now finally given them an update, throwing in a bunch of new features, but also bumping up the price.

As an Interceptor 650 Barcelona Blue owner, I would want to correct a few things in this review…
1. It's Air + Oil cooled and not liquid cooled.
2. It DOES have a slipper clutch. Yes it's pretty hard but it is slipper clutch nonetheless.
3. Seat height is 804 mm.
4. Mirrors are not decent, they are downright bad with very little adjustability
5. The suspension is not stiff. Its unpredictable. The front suspension will soak up some bumps and thud on some others. Rear suspension is soft and due to that the bike gets wallowy during high speed cornering. Stock setting can be changed to improve that.
6. Engine is a gem.
7. Still has a lot of niggles. My bike had a variety of major and minor issues and its only about 6 month old.
8. This model is a throwback to the 70's and hence doesn't get a watch, gear position indicator, bluetooth/tripper navigation etc. You do not get those even on Triumph Bonnevilles.
What this bike is for pure old school feel (hard bench seat included 😂😂😂). This is an attention magnet and a wonderful bike if you're not into ripping it like a KTM. This bike does a 100kmph at 4000 RPM and it will do that all day. Brakes are awesome too.
If you want creature comforts look for some other bike or buy a car.
Thanks for sharing your ownership experience
liquid cooled... ( its air oil cooled) ride at 440... ( ?????) weighs about 120 kgs ( its 218 kgs) what happened to you pradeep?
650cc for only 4.1lak 🙃
I am not sure why you youtubers promote aftermarket exhaust when its illegal in our roads. Be factually and morally correct since you have decent subs. Think about it , no hate
Totally agree.
Cause we love aftermarket exhausts and it's normal.
Well summed up Pradeep. Having driven the previous interceptor regularly can relate to everything that you mentioned . Disappointing that apart from alloy wheels not much of a change and things remain the same. The engine , torque and speed is what makes one love this RE but rest there some really bad grouses like bad seats , stiff suspension and very little display which is common in way low priced bikes in the market.
@Pradeep on Wheels. It does come with Slip and Assist Clutch.
I have rode my bike around 16k with this beast compressing both city and highways I am happy with my ride comfort with RE touring seats and trust me it is best bike in the whole segment also I have got mileage of around 27 in after market exhaust called off trail
If anyone planning for this bike go for it you won’t regret your decision
Brother in interceptor which one is better alloy or spoke wheels?
Great detail,,,, pradeep. Btw HM is really amazing❤
I'm binge-watching your channel now.
Dominor 400 or Interceptor which one will be a good choice for both highways and City ?
which has more enjoyable ride CB 350 or this one?
650 anyday
Why would anyone compare a parallel twin with cb350?
@@muttineni03 bcoz many big bikes are just boring and simple ones are hoot to ride. Eg ktm390
At 09:00 its the Contessa Classic by Hindustan Motors, the signature car of the villainous rich dad of heroines of Hindi films of the 80s. 😂
HM is the same company that used to manufacture Ambassador car too.
Please compare it with Himalayan 450
Hi, good review, but why are you speaking very fast? Any time limit for video?
Hi. I’m an Interceptor owner. Should l consider upgrading the suspensions or get the Himalayan 450 instead? Himalayan already has the best suspensions. So thinking about it. Just wanna get your opinion on that
I won't recommend bro once ur used twins never go back singles u will b disappointed if u have money go for transalp if u planning adv otherwise u can wait for Aprillia 457 turag , ter is roomers ktm might use CF moto 450 cc engine too may b adv might come ter too
Better go for a suspension upgrade 🙌🏻
Yes, try YSS for Int 650.
Agree on that with gear position indicator
Liquid cooling and no slipper clutch?
Nope
Liquid cooling not needed on long stroke engines.
They could Slipper clutch maybe..
Interceptor 650 vs Triumph Scrambler 400 X Which one???
this twin cycling is pure magic. Personally Interceptor anyday
Pradeep can't recognise a Contessa. Daym im old.
Do you know anything about shot gun 650 ?
Not yet
Bro u didn't say the cost
As an owner i am totally dissapointed with INT650 .. Reliability is poor.. You will face issues at regular interval even if you maintained well. You will be in constant pressure durung trips that something wrong will happen with bike. Common probelms like meter console and fuel pump damage, battery damage, RR unit damage... Even though warrenty covers this damage but is annoying that you have to constanly take bike to service centre frequently.... If you have budget go for Honda...If no budget for twin cylinder then go for others reliable brands.
