Sucker Punch (entitled Sucker Punch: Surreal World in Spanish America) is a 2011 American action and fantasy film written by Steve Shibuya and Zack Snyder and directed by Snyder.
The film features a choral cast consisting of actresses Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung.The film follows the story of a young woman in the 1950s about to be lobotomized and her attempt to escape from a psychiatric hospital together with her companions.
Sucker Punch operates on three levels: first a reality, then a sub-reality in which the psychiatric ward is a strange brothel, and finally a level formed by a dream world where sequences of action outside of time and space take place Zack Snyder said the film is a critique of the sexism of geek culture and the conversion of women into mere objects. - Hudba
