Disney Cruises are now launching from Australia in October 2023. We're incredibly excited by this news. We cannot recommend Disney Wonder enough.
Our 4 night cruise departed from Vancouver and we disembarked in San Diego.
The kids throughly enjoyed their time on the cruise. Both Nate and Aria were really big fans of the Oceaneers Club and Lab. They just had an absolute ball. The youth crew members in the club and lab are truly amazing humans.
All meals, drinks, such as soft drinks, coffee and water, entertainment, games, and shows are included in the cost. WOW!!
You do however have to pay for alcohol and specialty coffees such as lattes and cappuccinos .
Throughout the cruise, you will rotate through 3 different restaurants.
* Tritons
* Animator's Palete
* Tiarna's Place
The vibe in these restaurants are truly magical, the food is delicious.
We did feel like Animator's Palete, didnt have a menu that was super child friendly. However, we still found the food delicious and we had the best time.
The shows onboard, are truly incredible. We experienced 3 broadway style shows.
* Golden Mickeys
* Frozen the musical
* Disney Dreams
The cast in these shows are fantastic, and they consistently deliver true Disney quality performances.
For the adults, you can experience quiet in Quiet Cove. This is an adults only, 18+ area. Sorry kiddies.
This means, you can purchase a beverage from Signals, find a lay about and relax in the sun.
We won BINGO!!! Well, Nate won! and he wont let us forget it. lol.
The entertainment crew onboard are next level. They go above and beyond to keep everyone entertained, hyped, excited and just having an absolute blast.
Our little fam bam had the best time onboard. We are now addicted to Disney Cruises.
Time to sign us up as members lol.

Great detailed review of the Wonder, so excited she's coming down our way and feel lucky we managed to book the 3 nighter Auckland to Auckland. The booking system overloaded and crashed, not helped by hurricane Ian. We didn't manage to get the rooms we requested but maybe we might be able to upgrade as we get closer.

While I’m glad you guys are getting the Wonder coming to your part of the world, I’m REALLY glad that I decided to book our upcoming 3 night Very Merrytime cruise on the Wonder for the beginning of December THIS year after wanting to most of the seven years Wonder has been sailing out of my hometown of San Diego…SINCE ITS NOW LEAVING US!

@@leesolife actually, found out we’re actually getting the Magic (Wonder’s sister ship, and the only other one Disney Cruise Line has that’s small enough to fit through the Panama Canal) to REPLACE the West Coast runs Wonder will no longer be sailing after Spring ‘23…Apparently, according to rumor, assuming the first season of Australia/New Zealand cruises goes well, they’ve committed to keeping Wonder there until, ideally 2028 (when the ship will be THIRTY, and will need a pretty extensive dry dock overhaul)

Oh this is so exciting. We boarded approx 5 hours before departure from memory. You will so have loads of time. Just go into each day with a tentative plan and just make it happen. You will love it.

So the shop that you need to go to is White Caps. The time and days to go will be on your Navigator App once you get onboard

Were did you get the magnets for your room door & what are the 3 or 4 pocket mail things put on the fish next too the room door? I going on DCL Wonder when it is coming out here to Australia. I'm sailing out of Brisbane for my trip.
Oh yay this is so exciting, you’re going to have the best time. The pockets hangers are called Fish Extenders. You can find them on Etsy. You can also find the magnets on Etsy. We searched Disney Cruise Stateroom door magnets and so many came up. It’s so fun looking through them.

Hey there, yay thats so exciting that you're sailing from Melbourne . Im so happy Disney Cruise Line is coming to Australia. We had 1st seating of dinning. We found this time to be great as it meant we could take our time eating, and then we could go and see the shows. It worked out well for us as we the kids.
Very informative video! I am going on my first Disney cruise at the end of February next year. I haven’t checked the website lately… do you still have to take a Covid test or antigen test at the pier?
The guidelines have just recently changed. So on the Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish fully vaccinated guests will no longer be required to submit negative covid test results before setting sail. Fully vaccinated guests sailing on Disney Magic will have to wait until Nov 7th to skip the testing. I hope this helps a little .
Great video and very informative. I have a question about the end of the video where all of the characters were gathered. Was that a Meet and Greet that you had to book, or was that just open to everyone somewhere on the ship? We will be taking our first Disney Cruise in February. Thank you!!

Hey lovely, yay that's so exciting. On the Navigation App, when you're on board, you will see on your daily itinerary, it will tell you when you can go to White Caps the store, to collect your charm bracelet. I didn't see it as I never went to collect it, which I really regret now lol
Just watched your video of the Wonder. Thank you. Our first Disney cruise is on the wonder. I was wondering what was around your neck at the beginning. Looked like pins and a small box that was flashing. Just curious.

Oh yay that’s so exciting. You will have the best time. It really is amazing. Yeah, so they do have a schedule of meet and greets. It will be in your app, once you get onboard, plus they have daily schedule screens around the ship, plus sometimes you could be about to step out of an elevator and when the doors open, one of the princesses is there waiting. Lol I was so surprised but it was amazing.

Hey there, oh thank you so much. We hope you found it helpful. Hmmm, We have been asked this question a lot. I don't actually think that we would pay that amount of money for a 2 night. Its a lot of money. If we were going to spend that money we would probably save a little more and go to Orlando, do a few days at the parks and then do the cruise to the Caribbean. But honestly that is just us.
Sorry if someone has asked this already, but what were those little pockets on the fish hooks? Do we take those ourselves or are they for purchase? What are they for exactly? It seems like a really cute idea!
Hi, I'm answering in the assumption that you hadn't already found an answer.
From what I understand, they're called 'Fish Extenders' and act as a mailbox for dinner invitations and information from the cruise staff, they're usually labelled with names, photos or roles of those staying in the room. If you're crafty enough, you can make it, otherwise sites like etsy are a lovely place to buy one as I don't believe the cruise has any (Although I may be wrong, I'm working with limited research!). I've gathered that alternatively, guests often exchange gifts, like in a secret santa, typically organised prior to the cruise by guests (likely a facebook group or something similar) as it's not run by the cruise line.
I hope this roughly put together information wall of text helps out you or someone with a similar question and I hope to be corrected by someone if I got anything wrong :D

Hi! Were you at the 1st batch of seating for dinners? Do you recommend the 1st (5:30ish) or the later one? I am traveling with 2 toddlers and don’t want to be last on shows too.
Hey Ella, we were in the 1st seating. We loved this time. It meant that we could eat dinner and not feel like we had to rush to go to a show. This was the best time for our kids too.

Hey lovely, so you can tip the bar staff, and you can tip your wait staff each night if you wish, but their gratuities are included in your cruise cost. And you will receive envelopes and paper work on your last day to sort this out.

This is a great question. We were able to order multiple food items. One night I wanted to try two desserts like. So I did. lol

Hey there, we had 2 check in luggage and 4 carry ons. There is plenty of space on board. Under the best space is huge and then there the cupboards.

This is a great question. So they do have the US outlets. you will have to get the adapters.

I am going on the Disney Wonder Cruise soon and wondering if we need a passport. I have been hearing mixed things and quite not sure what document to bring besides CA ID and Vaccination Card. Can you help and let me know what documents I need to bring. Do I need to renew my passport for the cruise?
We had to, but we were from Australia traveling to the USA.
Did you drop off your luggage early, or had it all with you when you checked in and boarded?
Hey lovely, sorry for the late reply. So when you park your car you will be directed to take your luggage to a luggage check in point. It’s super easy. You will leave all your main luggage with them. You can take your backpacks with you. Our backpacks had our passports, any medications etc. Then you go through check in like you do at an airport, where you show your passports and proof of booking etc. Then you will be directed to board the ship. Your luggage will arrive at your room a little later. We were able to go to our room around 1pm. And out luggage was at our room. 👍🏻
What dates did you cruise?
Hey there we cruised the 19th - 23rd. From Vancouver
was the wifi free or did you have to pay?
Hey there, we had to pay for the WiFi. We didn’t use the WiFi. We felt it was expensive so we just went without for a few days lol
Who long did it take to disembark?
Disembarking was super easy.
You have two options: 1 is to put your bags outside your stateroom by 10.30pm the night before disembarking. The crew members will take your suitcases and you can collect them the next morning once you have cleared customs.
Option 2: is take your bags with you.
We didn’t get our bags out in the corridor in time the night before. So we had no choice but to take them with us. This meant we just had to put them somewhere while eating breakfast. The crew are amazingly helpful and there are loads of places to leave them. Once you have had breakfast you can make your way off the ship and head to customs on the wharf. Once cleared you can just leave.
We took our bags with us and we do so again. It was super fast and really easy. The crew are amazing. It took perhaps 30 mins to make our way through the customs line. But it didn’t feel like that. It felt a lot shorter
Checking in was a nightmare.
Oh really? We found our check in super easy and a smooth process.

Does Tianas place have a diff show each night?
To be honest I'm not sure. I dont think so, because guests would only eat one night at Tiana's. Apparently Tiarna normally comes and pays a visit too, but that night she was busy out in the kitchen making gumbo.
I can't hear over the music playing - why should you sit near the front during Frozen?
So try to sit somewhere in the first 6 rows as it snows. The kids just love it.
