Ice Fishing Lake George for Lake Trout! (INSANE Bite)

Ice fishing the legendary Lake George in the Adirondacks of New York for Lake Trout! Fishing in shallow water with light tackle, I came across an insane bite. I’m just a couple of hours, I landed a number of solid fish! I even lost what would have been my biggest lake trout ever through the ice :/

A little off the bottom, and when the fish came in we'd make them chase. However, my friend the next day caught most of his bouncing rattle baits off the bottom

Can you explain youre setup...what type of line,leader how long... ?

Any medium heavy rod will do fine for these guys. We even catch them on ultralights. I specifically was using 6lb braid on one of the rods and 10lb braid on another. Then for both, 10lb fluoro leader. Roughly 8-10’ of it.
