Just did the Santa Cruz Boardwalk three weeks ago. I enjoyed it a lot more than Universal Studios in L.A. $45 gets you an all day pass, and it's a must for any Lost Boys fan 👍

Back in the late 60's/early 70's when I was a small child, the boardwalk still had those wooden sliding rides that you can see in the movie, Carnival of Souls, but by the mid 70's they were all gone. :(
Live in Sacramento. Growing up went to boardwalk every summer. It’s changed a lot over the years and decades. Love it
All the memories I had when I was a child. I was born in Soquel not far from the Boardwalk.
My dad would have been happy to see this.

The 1980’s had great films year after year with great music,i miss that time…This film had it all for me,along the fright night films both had great music to back the films up…And best of all,back then…no internet,sounds crazy because you can’t imagine living without it now but,it was better.Anyway,I remember going to see this about 4 times and having running conversations about which was better.Fright night or lost boys….I’ll leave it up to you,but for me.The fright nights just shade it,if there was a really good sequel to boys then that’s another story.Great upload,great film…Great times back then.

My wife and I were SUPPOSED to go to Yosemite, Sequoia, and San Francisco in June of 2020, but that was cancelled for obvious reasons. We left the option open to go to Santa Cruz, but seeing this (and now that I've made my wife watch The Lost Boys!), I think it's a definite must when we are able to follow back through on our old plans.
You guys are in my top three favourite channels, I get so excited whenever I see another video release as the quality of video, content and both of your fun and humble presences keep me around :) I love how down your earth you guys are; I love your stories and life wisdom, I love your sense of humour and taste in movies and just about everything, I hope this Halloween is the best ever and that you guys continue to stay inspired and full of excitement for every new adventure! The first ride y'all were on was really cute. But, so far the haunted castle is really cool. The fright walk one did have right amount of creepy.😲. Loved it. Thanks for the tour of the scary things at the park. 🥰🎃

If you happen to make your way back to Santa Cruz around Halloween, they'll be showing The Lost Boys on the beach on Saturday, Oct 29. They usually show it during the summer, but because of the plague, it was postponed to October.

The Santa Cruz Boardwalk is so rad. We went for the first time in June. So much fun. It’s gonna be a yearly trip.
Even the garden ghost got drilled and she was just watering her flowers. That's pretty ruthless.

Omg, the haunted ride reminds me of an old school ride I used to go on at an amusement park I frequented as a kid! It was called “House of Horrors” at Rocky Point Park in RI. They are now closed and most of the rides have been sold to other places. Thanks for another Grimm adventure ;)
Ghost Blasters gives me so much Nostalgia for the one at Castle Park in Riverside. It’s kind of dingy and broken now tho. This one looks wayyy more refreshed lol.
Awesome and nostalgic! The haunted mansion was plain simple ride like the ghost shooting ride. They they redid it about 20 years ago and it it the best on the West 👍🏻 looks like you had a lot of fun 💯👏🏻🤘🏻 I grew up at Santa Cruz Boardwalk and have moved away. Thanks for the memory voyage today!
My childhood & young adult years were spent living just south of Santa Cruz in Monterey, CA. I've been going to The Boardwalk since my elementary school days (1970's). My oldest daughter also spent many summers visiting there too. During summer months they play movies on the beach & every year the main feature is The Lost Boys (her all time favorite movie followed by Fright Night). Her baby sister (now 18) was born in WA state. So she has only been to the Boardwalk twice, the last being about 8 yrs ago. The Cave Train & Logger's Revenge are her favorite rides. I have so many of fond memories of that place. One favorite is when I visited my cousin in Sacramento. She drove me back home after a 2 week stay. First she picks up a hitchhiker standing at the on ramp to I5 south. She thought he was cute - OMG! Turns out he was heading down to Santa Cruz so he rode with us for several hours. Relieved to say he turned out to be a nice guy & not a serial killer. She insisted that we make a quick stop at the Boardwalk because she wanted to ride The Giant Dipper before leaving town. We rode twice, played some games, shared a funnel cake, then got back in the car & drove to Monterey. 😍By the way, that is my favorite entrance gate too - LOL!
*side note - have you guys been to Santa Cruz Mystery Spot ? It's a cool & fun place to check out if you haven't been before. It's not far from The Boardwalk, about 15 mins away.
It was cool that you went on the dark rides.I always enjoy seeing them. I like to watch videos of my favorite Disney dark rides and compare all of the different versions.my favorite is the haunted mansion at Paris Disneyland.I was so surprised to see that they even have a version of splash Mountain in Tokyo and it looks so much better than the other ones. The Peter pan at Paris is really good too.

Okay. You two popped up in my YT algorithm. Immediately liked and subbed! I'm a 67 year old metalhead and closet goth. I've watched several of your vids already and enjoyed every second. This vid brought back memories. That Haunted Castle dark ride is definitely old school. I remember one at Coney Island back in the 60's. It was called Spook-a-Rama. I had to look up the name as my old brain has cobwebs. It was really cool. A classic dark ride.

So, the first ride you went on is exactly like the one I have here in my home state. Its called Ghost Hunt. The ride is basically the same thing. Sounds and everything. I used to be terrified of it when I was younger, but I love it now.
I have been to Santa Cruz many times as a kid and as an adult. It's definitely a nostalgia location. I still have one of rings you throw in the clowns mouth during the carousel. I'm so happy to see you enjoying it as well.

The classic hanted castle ride was everything to me in the early 2000s. I remember going with my dad and being scared of the big animatronics out front, and the man in the electric chair.

I have been binge watching your videos for the last several days. I love them. They are done so well, and I feel like the way they are done your giving everyone an experience. I love the fact you tell a story then go to the grave of either a Hollywood celebrity or someone who was a victim of murder. You give respect to the deceased and I love that. Your videos of you filming in New England are great. I lived in NE for 12 years and I have been to many of the places you showed.

Ya'll gotta come back in October! My friends put on a huge Haunt in Pleasanton Ca which has been nationally ranked. The Haunt is Called The Pirates of Emerson. It's a huge scare park.

Ps I showed my daughter, carnival of souls for the first time a couple of weeks ago, she is about to turn 6 this year, she is a very brave little girl and loves spooky/creepy things, she isn't afraid of modern scary movies but for some reason, she couldn't watch carnival of souls. It creeped her out more than anything she has ever watched lol she was closing her eyes, I asked her if she didn't want to watch, but she said she did lol

This place gets it! They don’t seem to have an overkill of extreme coasters and the dark rides are the pauses that refresh. Happy Halloween 🎃

Fright Walk walk through . I recognized some of the props . The two skulls with the light up green and blue eyes were sold by Monster guts. Since it is 3 axis and the eyes do not move. Although i believe Fright props will sell it as well but the FP's eyes move. Skeleton at 21:10 could have been made by Poison props. 21:32 the candelabra is from Skeleton's and More.
That first haunted house was so SCOOBY DOO! Only Missing the Scooby gang running from room to room.. that was a throw back if ever there was, to those old Scooby cartoons.

Bugged my parents to go there the summer after The Lost Boys came out...have gone so many times since then lol...seen a number of concerts there on the beach over the years as well , lots of 80s bands have played there.

I KNEW Jessica's hair would glow in the dark! How awesome is the whole Santa Cruz dark ride scene! Can't help but get the giggles, recalling the Rob Lowe poster in Corey Haim's ("Sammy") bedroom wall being the same one I used to have on my own wall... and the Frog brothers trying to coerce Sam into buying a horror comic book right over there!

Here where I live in Pennsylvania Knoebels has a carrousel that has rings to catch. If you get the brass ring you get a free ride. Then you have to toss them in the lion's mouth.
The current Haunted Castle opened in 2004 or 2005. The old interiors and animatronics were donated to J's Amusement Park at Guerneville, CA on the Russian River. J's used to put on a haunted walk through every Halloween for charity. I remember staying in Santa Cruz on random weekends when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's!

Lake Compounce in Bristol Connecticut has the exact same ghost shooter dark ride. They recently updated the targets, making the game much better and more functional
