About Ayla Tesler-Mabe:
Ayla has been making waves in the world of guitar playing as a professional guitarist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, since the early age of 14. After only been playing for two years, her first CZcams video (a rendition of John Mayall’s “Hideaway”) put her on the map and kickstarted her music career. She has since been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, become a member of the Ernie Ball and Fender family of artists, and earned various Berklee College of Music scholarships. Musically, Ayla finds great pleasure in exploring the numerous avenues available to her through various styles of music, as seen through her work with Calpurnia and Ludic.

Such a laid back teacher, you make everything make sense.
Yeah she's wearing pajamas. Laaiiid back.
Agreed. Appreciate the tone of her instruction. Makes me wanna pick up the guitar again!
She’s totally stoned

Pot bro
You're the teacher I always wish I had in school. Your laid back demeanor and calm nature is very soothing. You're the Bob Ross of the guitar. And remember there's no mistakes just happy accidents
No, there are definitely mistakes in Music.
@@MrParkerman6 no my friend we call that fusion jazz
it took me three years of playing guitar everyday before I even attempted to sing along, let alone write a song, because I was so scared of it. But it's really one of those things that you just have to start doing and suck for a bit. I hated my voice and thought my writing was no good, so there was a lot of insecurity, but you have to let that go and it's the easiest to let it go when you just start vocalizing. It's fine to feel uncomfortable at first. It surprised me how quickly I got used to it and how fast my anxieties left me.
For. Me i can sing freely and no embarrassment when im alone but i am atmy family house and so theres alot and they will overhear how bad i am.
So what i did was join them when they were doing karaoke and started to sing first sing my comfortable songs, and after that singing a song that has a key and melody that i cant sing and i completely butcher it up to show tht idgaf what they think, but no hate its mostly to encouarage my self to be me
Karaoke helped me!
I know all this stuff but I still found the video enjoyable and I wish I had a video like this when I was a beginner, it would have been really helpful
She does have a pleasant way of presenting herself and sharing her knowledge. Not at all like the instructors I started with years ago.
I agree many of her videos are familiar topics but I watch them anyway. She clearly loves what she's doing and it shows.
Same here man
Maybe im stupid or something, but i play guitar for 3 years and honestly i never learned nothing from youtube videos, i learned all from listening music and by myself
@@user-il8ti2vl4w everyone learns differently. I personally never really learned much from videos but if I wanted to learn specific riffs or solos, I’d usually consult videos
@@user-il8ti2vl4w no you're not stupid. It doesn't work for everybody. Most of my instruction was from teachers early on, then working at it on my own, kind trial and error. What I get from videos occasionally is maybe a new technique. It's mostly just entertainment for me.
I wish i had a guitar instructor like you when i was younger as you make it simple and fun
you’re a really cool teacher no cap i appreciate you girl 💯❤️
I love the way you teach, it’s easy to follow and understand you don’t hesitate like lot that use to look on the net. I will definitely follow you, i will surely be better with you help 🤘🏻🎶
Hello Ayla
you explain really well, especially for beginners very understandable, thank you very much!👍🏻🎸
Good way to get started -- I remember being surprised when I first learned the template for using Major and Minor chords in a key-thought there had to be more to it. After that you just have to do it and work on it. You'll have some good and some bad although for me the hard part was adding lyrics to stuff. You can always just have chord progressions and throw something different in whether it is a diminished chord or 7th chords or just something odd you figure out and go with it. But you won't get any better at it until you try it out. I know I have to spend more time writing songs with all the fragments and ideas I have written down.
Haha Man i am the exact opposite😂 i kinda hear melody and chords in my head but i cant really translate that well to the freatboard but when IT comes to Writing lyrics IT is usually a piece of cake ;)
The topic I have been waiting for! :D
Thank you for encouraging teaching and for reminding on the fact that if there is a will someone can start with simply with 3 chords.
What is helpful is teaching the Nashville numbering for the major and minor progressions. Circle of fifths, fourths for progressions and circle of thirds for cords. You’re adorable and thanks. 🎶🎸🥰
I now have a way bigger grasp on music theory, and its all thanks to you! You're awsome 😊👍
Great tutorial, thank you! 🎶 We’ve got lots of songs with lyrics just need to find the chord progressions. Your video was helpful. 🎸
As someone who uses guitar to write songs, the most important thing is to have fun. If not, it will seem like a chore. Save the chores for practice, the fun for songwriting.
Hi Ayla, and thank you for the videos you make that are directed towards beginners. Beginners are anxious, they want to do so much on guitar, they are bursting at the seams, either with songwriting, or emulating their favorite players. I'm glad you are demonstrating the tools to help them focus on their goals. One thing that I have always taken to heart, and peace be upon his soul, something that Randy Rhoads told one of his students; "Use your guitar to express how you feel!" I think Randy would have loved your videos and your teaching style! I know I do, I have learned more from you, even after 45 years of playing, than any CZcamsr who says; "And I'm going to teach you how to play ( song name here ).
Thank you so much for the kind words!
@@MusoraMedia You're welcome, Ayla! Looking forward to more great videos in the New Year! Keep up the good work! :) :)
Thank you dear😊I think I keep writing songs almost all the time during my practice sessions but I can't repeat it as I don't make a conscious effort to keep the sequence or patterns in mind or even record it since I am not a musician. I play for the pure joy of it currently, if I team up with somebody maybe I can get serious about it 😊
Hey Ayla another Gr8 lesson .. I started by taking the chords of an old song & making up my own words .. I guess by now you have guessed coming up with lyrics is easy for me .. But I can't sing a cruel little joke on me Lol .. So I just sort of try talk or shout my way through the words .. Using all down strokes on a 1st song can help if you are not gifted Vocally . But main thing is just give it a go .. Nothing to lose but your pride Right .. My favourite saying at the moment is " Excuses only sound good to the person who is making them " Now a reason is a different thing But overcoming problems is so fantastic a feeling when you succeed . So to new song writers I say Keep a pen & a notebook handy beside your bed .. All the best ideas seem to come when you are falling asleep or just waking up .. or if you are travelling .. & Even one good song lyric half a line a day it all adds up & then do not be afraid to put all your best bits from 6 or 7 unfinished songs into one new song that is better .. I'll shut up Now . stay safe all ..
Putting bits of songs together reminds of how the Moody Blues' singer Justin Hayward tells of how he came up with the song Question by putting different bits together. And it's one of those great songs. Thanks !
Hey Ayla/Guitareo, I have been trying to write music and songs for a while and boy has it been a struggle! There was no better time for this video to come out. As always I appreciate everything this channel has helped me with!! 😁

seriously, great topic, thank you.
Omg I love Alya since Calpurnia, I didn't know about this channel, but I love it u.u
Been “playing” for over ten years, but only really took it seriously this past year. Never been able to really get as good as i’d like, or write at all; now i know it’s due to not being able to focus because of ADHD. It’s so exciting now to be able to easily wrap my head around things like this, and actually be able to create music.
dont blame your short comings on ADHD. Your just as capable as everyone else and things like that only give you an excuse to not improve.
very helpful
Thanks for the content! ❤️🩹
Msg to Ayla : thanks for finding time and love the new music!
You seem so peaceful ✌️ I would like to have you as a guitar teacher
I was nervous to get into songwriting on the guitar, but you lay it out in such a non-judgemental, straightforward way that I feel empowered to begin :)
Thank you so much
Great attitude! Nice work!
A catchy chord progression, G, A#, F, C
I could watch you playing the guitar all day and not get bored
I'd love to hear you play the solo from la Bamba maybe one day 🥰 I love how you talk and play 🥰
In love with the color of your Fender Duo-Sonic 😍
Ayla I like your instructions are very good and you're very good
Great tutorial, could you pls make some more song composition in guitar tutorials?
thanks
Sweet guitar!!!
Been playing for a year and six months.. I feel like it’s time I start to learn more about song making/music theory etc.. great video btw thanks eh
Learn some Beatles songs. They were masters making great music with basic chords. I really don't know how they did it but when combined with their melodies their music sounds great.
awesome!
Thank you sister for teaching writing song...🥰👍
That’s one cool looking mustang!
Thanks you’re 😎

Nice duo-sonic
Holy guacamole that is a cool guitar
Get a stacked 250k/500k volume pot wired up on that duo sonic. Then that neck pickup will sound amazing😁
Ayla is so chill
Since I didn't see anybody post any chord combos (that she suggested at the end of the video) here's one of mine just for fun ...three parts, almost all open chords. String #'s are low to high:
A9 to C9 (A9 = 0-0-2-2-0-0 C9 = x-3-2-0-3-3)
D9 to Am to G/D9 to F9-Em (D9 = 0-0-0-2-3-0 Am, G & Em are standard open chords
F9 = 1-0-3-0-1-x I use my thumb on the 6th string to cover that bass/root note)
F9 add the B on the 2nd fret of the 2nd string to make it an F to G add the C on the 1st fret of the 2nd string to make G11...
Play around with this...you can strum it, fingerpick it whatever...I play it slow for what that's worth.
That guitar is so gorgeous 😍
After watching this I wrote a song on my brother’s guitar
Then he got mad because I used a permanent marker
🤣🤣
Badum tss!
Thank you for your lesson ❤️ love you Lord bless you dear ❤️💋❤️
Your so laid back and my one brain cell appreciates it
It's a pretty nice guitar.
SEEING AYLA WAS SUCH AN UNEXPECTED (but pleasant!!!) SURPRISE :D
