"But you don't innovate anything. The only innovator in this room is Edvard."
After 2 seasons of admittedly amusing rants, it's odd how cathartic it is for someone to simultaneously validate Edvard's frustration and skill in one line while chewing out Astor for the crap he and his family have been doing for centuries.

I thought Johnny's "I've been secretly trained in swordfighting since I was 8" was going to be the most audacious flashback of all, but then along comes Mike with his "I've arranged it so Astor's been slowly going mad from lead poisoning" gambit. Magnificent. 😘👌

Wasn't it said at some point that Kasamir's cane had a sword in it (I may be getting confused because of the ghost shocker thing)? If so it does make sense for him to have some swordfighting knowledge, although from the age of 8 is still pretty absurd.

But the reason I stopped watching the later Oxventure adventures is that it got way too joky for me. It was no longer about the fun, epic adventure but about Luke saying random nonsensical things, Andy destroying any plot he could with great passion, Mike being made fun of at nauseum (which at some points I seriously think kind of lowered Mike's enjoyment of the game and it's great to see him actually turn the joke around and become incredibly useful as Barnaby) and Ellen and Jane just kind of going along like "Whatever."
That is why I am amazed that in BitD, Andy and Luke work toward the story instead of against it and Mike gets in on the jokes made about his character instead of suffering under them. And I am not saying this is bad or they should conform to how I want them to play, no no no, far from it. But it did break my enjoyment of the story and I just sort of gave up on the baseline Oxventure. As much as I'd like it to go on, there is something to be said for a satisfying ending. I hope you revisit BITD again at some point, maybe with someone else having a turn behind the GM's screen. I do like seeing Johnny as a player, probably as much as I like them as a DM. Same with Luke. But I bet the others could come up with a great story for another season.

I think I prefer Luke GMing and Johnny as a player, if only because of the more serious tone. I like that Luke mainly GM's Blades so that it's tense and dramatic, whereas Johnny always GM'd Oxventure in a fairly light tone. Besides, Johnny is an incredible role player. I loved seeing how he used the different systems in Blades.
I guess now that the whole gang has gotten more into roleplay, maybe Johnny could finally GM a more dramatic game without getting trolled by Luke and Andy all the time lol. Oxventure is hilarious, but I love tense stakes.

I think the gamg should make a point to come back later with some explosives and destroy the machine or seal off the area so that the Brightners can't tamper with it again.
Great episode. I really hope we get to see some more crinimal shenanigans from the Hobby Horses, maybe exploring if any of them get magic powers or if they find ways to take advantage of the situation. Or maybe Eleanor pays them enough so that they can all retire.

I didn’t realise this was the end ‘The End’ of BITD. So I’m really sad that their likely won’t be anymore BITD episodes. But hear me out maybe a season 3 is possible if they follow up the story from here like magic has now returned so the current cast gets to choose DnD style which class they gonna be in. The twist would be that while class, magic & character sheet would follow DnD rules the gameplay would follow BITD system as per usual like stress, harm, flashback etc. Ok I know it sounds hella complex but this is just me coping with BITD truly ending. So don’t mind me…
