People mocked Reliant, but forget they made the Scimitar.
Princess Anne once owned one of these.

I think she actually owned several over the course of many years. I always identify the Scimitar with her.

"Strong challenge from continental rivals" is one of the most used sentences in this series.
Be it 50's, 60's, 70's... And still nobody cared.
    Until it was all over.
Thank you Germany, thank you India.

Britain must be the most UNpatriotic country I know, especially as regards Europe.
When you used to see old films of Italy you'd see nothing but Italian cars, french cars in France.
I know everywhere is multi-national now, as far as car buying goes, but I think Britain was the first to sell out BIG time
Same goes for household white goods - buying foreign stuff until we stopped making it.
Much of it is down to globalist corporate owners, I know, but we never did ourselves any favours.

Interesting to note that the Scimitar had the spare-wheel in front of the engine, under the boot, just like the Citroen DS!
But the DS was introduced in 1955....

The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was a very modern design - sleek and elegant, classic too. It looks a lot more like a Rolls Royce should be. Unlike today's elongated reapackaged Hyundais with their diamond roofs and electric everything designed for the man who thinks he is greater than God Himself.
