Great music knows no boundaries. CMT Crossroads shows the far-reaching roots of country music by pairing country artists with musicians from other genres. Each episode will feature a different set of stars playing together, swapping stories and sharing their common love of music. - Hudba
I don’t care who you are, when Pat Benetar sings one of your songs, that’s something!!!!
More so for Martina. Before she was a star, she headlined a Pat Benatar tribute group and was a mega fan. I saw an interview where she talked about meeting Pat and being amazed that she knew and liked HER songs.
I thought they did this exceptionally well. All I could see on Martina's face was amazement and excitement. She was definitely thrilled.
God Bless.
How amazing! Thanks for sharing@@pdoylemi
@@bambambowerman7800
Thanks.
Right. This is definitely the greatest rendition of an already great song.
WOW You can see it in Martina’s face that she was in awe of Pat...
@@tcwhite0104 Right?! 💗
@@bambambowerman7800 yes!!! ❤️
Pat Benatar can sing the phone book! I only wish she was able to sing this song with her 1985 voice . Still , she’s aged like a fine wine and can still raise goosebumps when she lets loose.
Right, but she still brings that righteous anger to the song.
Does anyone else feel the Goosebumps, and Tingling when Pat starts???? "LET FREEDOM RING"??????
She nails it bravo Pat Benatar
I DEFINITELY do!!!
heard better
2 beautiful ladies doing what they love doing, singing and entertaining. Bravo!
Holy crap you got that right - I was watching then Pat kicks it into high gear - brought tears to my eyes - she is SO damn talented .... of course Martina is no slouch either. Amazing.
I love how Martina totally fangirls over Pat. Total respect for these women
Same Martina is like pat’s niece they have always given me the same energy
TOTALLY!!😃😍😎
Exactly
Its totally awesome how she fans out... Martina grew up in a small town close to where I grew up,,, GO Martina!
This woman was why Martina got into music her idol is singin her song with her. It shows jus how real Martina is n how amazin these women are.
2024 I am 80 and still love this!!!!!!
Hell yea Joyce
And finally finally FINALLY Pat Benatar is going to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year!
I love how Martina just stops singing at the end, shes like, "you got this Pat'.
There is something amazing about watching Martina gush watching Pat sing her song.
Reba
I agree. She is so honored.
Yes there is , I’m not a Martina fan but they are both awesome in this song and I watch this video once a day , just to pump me up !!!
Yep, she was grateful
Patty could always sing, but she hit some heights here. Great video!
Pat Benatar has the greatest female rock voice ever!
What about Steve nicks
@@LawrenceMcLaughlan-jj4kz I'll give her a vry close second.
@@dd1862 I'd have her first over pat benatar
Ann Wilson is right there with her.
@@JessBeautyJunkie Ann and Pat are two of my favorite singers. So much power...who needs a mic kind of power.
Ain't NOBODY sings like Pat. You hear that voice, ain't no doubt who's singing. That's MY girl, loved her for the last 40+ years.
My favorite deep cut of hers is her cover of Alan Parsons' "Don't Let it Show". It shows another side - the classically trained opera singer. Her mother was an opera singer and got her into choir and theater and opera training. She was supposed to audition for Julliard, but her boyfriend in the military bagged her to go with him instead and she did.
Hell yeah! I was such a Pat Benatar nut in the 80s that my mom said "gawd, I wish you'd stop talking about Pat Benatar". lol
@@pdoylemi yes!!! That and Fight It Out. Both of those are among my favorites
...and EVEN Martina is left SPEECHLESS,!!
Pat Benatar voice is like a twin turbo big V8, You could see Martina was in awe because Martina normally has the most powerful voice in the room but when Pat opens the throttle, she is amazing.
Love the way you put it, and I completely agree. No fault of Martina, but Pat is a vocal powerhouse!
You can almost tell and feel that Pat is trying so hard not to overpower or “outshine” her but….yeah. Didn’t work out so well, lol.
Twin turbo c15 cat
A nuclear-powered pipe organ would be eclipsed by Ms. Benatar's voice, and after all these years she is hotter than molten lava.
Notice that during the second chorus Martina starts to sing along and then just gives up and watches PB elevate the song.
That's my point in an earlier comment...
Yep
Totally 💗💗
Pat does the song precisely the way it should be done. In Your Face without any apologies!
On one hand: Martina is no joke and has made her bones in a tough business on her own.
On the other hand: it's cool watching her 'fan-girl' for an effin' legendary woman and voice.
Pat Bentatar can still belt out a song! She has lost some of her 80's power but she is still very much in the game. Martina was in awe of her. I am sure Martina could have hit those big notes but when your idol sings your song, you let them own it. Love both of these ladies! Much respect to both.
You can tell Martina is so honored having Pat sing her song.Martina has said when she started out she covered a lot of Pat’s hits. They sound great together. One of the best Crossroads ❤️
@Colleen I respect your response, in however, Dolly heard Whitney on the radio while traveling and was so impressed to know a Number 1 hit rocked up Dolly's income and popularity. Good cover job Whitney, I prefer the original with Dolly.
@Colleen llw20o2
I would be too!
It's actually Gretchen Peter's song...
@@jabbalechat7910 I realize that but Martina recorded it.
I’m an old man but I still gush over this. I love how Martina just stops singing during the final chorus and gives Pat the stage. One legend in awe of another.
The uncontested queen of rock. Pat Benetar is amazing.
I got chills watching this today. I hope it won't be our last.
We'll still have the celebrations, but if Trump wins, they won't mean anything anymore.
The best live performance of this song that I've ever seen; Pat just kills the chorus!!
Her passion is felt !
She stole it, I remember when it first aired
Absolutely Awesome! That rock growl on the chorus blows me away!
Except her voice kept cracking and changing octaves
She tried to hard
I loved it when Martina just stood back a bit and let Pat just belt out her song. She was probably thinking why the hell am I even here. It was brilliant
Ok I need Pat Benetar to release a full cover version of this song. Anyone else agree?
You know, both Martina McBride and Pat Benatar were two of today's best singers of our time.
The look on Martinas face is priceless, she is in total awe and totally respects Pat Benatar singing her song. Pat with her voice could of had a huge hit with this song!
Agreed 100%. 68 years old in this video & Pat's still got it! I think that's why the RRHOF won't put her in. They're afraid she'll blow the roof off the place during her performance!😂
Pat could sing the phone book and have me in awe
@@johncollins7423 She's now in, and deserves to be.
@@kenkellam3691 Agreed, 100%.
I know, right? I come back to this concert video every once in a while because it's so good. Martina is an awesome singer herself, and you can see she's happy to be sharing the stage with a music legend! They rock together!
These two Women colaborating on this song brings one descriptive term to mind.....HARDCORE.....Pat Benatar is Long Island New York Music Royalty.....
Pat you still have it forever. KEEP ROCKING FOREVER 😂❤
To hear Pat Sing this song, just wow. You can see it in Martina's face how she done that song proud.
Pat Benatar never got the fame she deserves!
Pat Benatar is the Queen of Rock n Roll
Pat Benatar is a legend
I'm a black woman who loves pat benatar

Martina is so amazing, with nothing to prove she steps back and let's a queen show em what's what
I felt after watching the whole show that they both like each other’s songs. And they respect each other and admire their respective accomplishments. I just wish it could’ve happened before Pat had throat surgery bet you’d never heard a crack or pitch variation then.
I like Martina McBride.. but she couldn't keep up.. her voice isn't loud enough to be heard over Pats
@@jdtmanthomas1567 I disagree. I believe Martina didn’t belt out her vocals as to keep herself more in the background so to speak. She respected and honored Pat.
@@Krystaldoll282 I agree.... It's quite obvious in the video that when they were singing that shared chorus that she was holding back quite a bit, then just gave in and let Pat run with it.
@@jdtmanthomas1567 There are many qualities to voices other than volume.
Pat's voice is soooo powerful.
Holy smokes! This was definitely in Pat's wheelhouse.
Part of the last batch of real talent in America. Cherish it, hold on to it. Eventually you will need to remember it.
When you combine two of the greatest voices in rock and country, this is what you get. Great job, ladies!
I love that your thumbnail is Ireland’s Coat of Arms.🇺🇸☘️🇮🇪
Absolutely. Pat has the greatest female voice in rock and roll and Martina has the greatest female voice in country music. No doubt.
Well said couldn't say it better myself
Ear piercing cats crying
@@bertblue9683 You like leaving negative comments, huh? You sound like a fun guy to hang out with, Bert.
Pat Benatar , Rock in Roll Hall of Famer …. Long time coming !
What an honor to have Pat Benatar sing your song
Pat says: HOLD MY BEER!
Pat Benatar, 68 years young and can still belt out those powerful vocals, Martina in absolute awe performing with her idol. two gorgeous and legendary talents on one stage, doesn't get any better than this.
Agree!! Gave me chills. I love how true musicians have no ego and just love and perform the music together. Nothing to prove. 💖💖💖
Pat was 50 when this was done.
I love both of them! 💕
It is good for her age at the time but I mean it’s a little scratch that’s about it still really good just work her vocals for both of all of it better but still pretty good
@@BMartin657476 I was gonna say I feel like this was in the mid 2000s like 2004 or 05 maybe?
When the First Lady of rock walks out with her stiletto heels on to sing your song, take a knee. You are about to be schooled. Amazing.
Amen brother
She was horrible, she should have taken a seat vocals of a herd of cats
😂Yeah, ok. Move along troll@@bertblue9683
Damn Right
Hey 👋
Even today Pat Benatar still has the greatest voice and range of all female vocalists
I AGREE!!
Now if you were going to talk about the best female vocalist of all time I would have to give that to Karen Carpenter.
Agreed 👍💯👍 😎😎!!
Christ, Pat Benetar just absolutely CRUSHES that first chorus. I cannot even imagine the feeling of having an icon put that much effort and talent into something I created.
Best Crossroads Ever❤
Wow. Unbelievable. Anyone who is a McBride and/or a Benatar fan should have this in their favorites.
Martina’s reactions says it all. Pat is a legend. Martina is one of my favorite country singers ever!
What an honor it must have been for Martina to sing with the legend that is Pat!!!!
I love Martina McBride but Pat Benatar Rocked this song!!! Wow!!!!
I watch this about 1x a year. Because I should. Pat is a force of nature.
Patty is simply out of this world here.
Holy cow!!! Pat killed it. Nuff said!!!
Pat Benetar for the win!!!
I knew this was going to be great but I was still surprised by how great Pat Benatar brought it. Fantastic.
No offense, but have you never listened to Pat Benatar? That woman rocks as hard as anyone. And always brings it.
@@johnniemiec3286 Well offense taken. Did I not start with "I knew this was going to be great..."?
Amazing
Super Powers in that VOICE!!!
This was posted 4 years ago but they sang together in 2003. Here in 2024 and STILL enjoying this song and many others that they sang together with along side Neil! JUST WOW!! I can't get enough of them singing together. ♥
This video just made my week! R.I.P Todd Elliott my brother who miss daily! This song reminds me of my brother and his girlfriend he was with at the time. Susan was a very beautiful lady Todd loved her! See you soon bro!
Pat Benatar former opera singer, can BELT ANY SONG!! I love how Martina McBride respects her for that!!!
By far the greatest Crossroads performance!
The greatest Crossroads ever! I don't think they will ever match this one! This is what Crossroads was created for!
Damn Pat still has her voice....
Everyone Sit down Pat is in the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone gets up Martina is the queen
I guarantee Martina McBride had absolutely no idea Pat Benatar was gonna kill it like that. Her face told it all. Absolutely amazing
No, it's called it ( sing it like Y stole it, made it your own) blessed to be alive to hear it!!🎉
I never knew they got together.
HOLY SMOKES !!!
Martina loved that a woman she idolized in music belted out her song like this.
Yeah they belted it out 😂❤🎉❤🎉🎉 and💯❤️🌜🐤❣️♣️🇺🇲🇺🇸🤍🐤🕊️💫🌛🌜🌚🌝🌞♠️♣️♦️♥️🇱🇷
Pat still blows the walls down, and Martina was loving it.
Martina McBride = The most UNDERRATED country singer!!! Love her! 🥰
I cannot stop crying...what a great combo!
Dynamite comes in two small packages! Two amazing powerhouse women. 🥰👍🏼
I can never believe that those big voices come out of such small packages. Amazing, both of them.
After 2 years I'm still watching this.
ONe of the best rock voices with one of the all time great country voices? YES Ma'AM!!!!
The best Crossroads combination of all time.
Pat Benatar is always and will always be my fave female artist ever!!! That voice!!
Martina "I sing a song named Independence day " ................Pat "Hold my beer"😀😎❤👍
Truth!
👍👍😎
I love Pat...but she doesn't have the range Martina does..
@@johnnyutah482 Pat: 3.5 octave range. Opera trained. Love Martina, too, but don't think her range is 3.5 octaves.
@@johnnyutah482 You have to remember, this is after Pat had throat surgery because she had strained her vocal cords. Before that, Pat could really hit those high notes, like Martina, two powerful performers. It just doesn't get any better than them.
Absolutely 2 of my favorite singers. Today's listeners need to "rediscover" Pat Benatar. She's incredible. Martina McBride, just goes without saying.
Two powerful voices on the stage at one time. Martina showing respect to Pat when she started sing her best song of all time.
Agreed did you see the look on Martina face when she sang those high notes priceless
Pat Benatar is killing it to this very day.
Should her Martina singing promises in the dark, WOW
Oh HELL yeah! I remember when she started out (I'm 62). Glad she went rock instead of Opera...
@@PhilG999 : Me too but I would sure like to hear her magnificent voice on an operatic piece
Martina shows respect to Pat.Very professional.
Pat Benatar still rocks
You can see the admiration in Martina’s eyes. Two very talented and beautiful women.
Independence Day..God Bless America!
Blown Away by this video!!!!!
Icons Pat Benatar and Martina McBride are such strong, phenomenal, singers they unleashed the spirit of Freedom inside the heart of many patriots. When they sing! I actually got chills a very spiritual feeling -when they join forces to sing! Bravo encore !🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️.
Pat can sing anything and make it sound good
I love the power Pat put into singing this song. Especially since it resonates with so many people. Praying for those who suffer from domestic violence.
Including Pat. She wrote more than one song about being in an abusive relationship.
Hands down best female singer there ever was and will be in country.
Good Lawd! There are no words to describe how awesome this song was when these two sang it together. Beautiful women and the ability to pour their heart and souls into their performance.
I love Pat Benatar, her voice still rocks.
I loved her from the 80s but God damn she can sing!
NIcely done Pat
both breakin hearts for decades
Pat was originally an opera singer before going into 80's pop.. I LOVED her WE BELLONG! and SHADOWS of the NIGHT!
How can you NOT enjoy this performance? You have the LEGEND Pat Benetar and Martina McBride on one stage singing Martina's song together. I would have totally fan-girl'd out!
WHOOOO!!! WHO CAN BLOW MARTINA AWAY WITH THEIR VOCALS?!?!? Only Pat!!!
Pat was one of my childhood singing heroes . Often we ran with the shadows of the night . Oh I miss the 80s and 90s.
This is my favorite crossroads. They’re amazing together
You've got 2 of the best female singers of all time on one stage! How cool is that?!😎😎👍👍
Pat totally crushes this, And Martina fan girls!!😊👍
I remember when I heard Martina light up this anthem for years with her phenomenal voice. Then take the voice of female empowerment and you can see even Martina is in awe of the Legend Pat Benetar belting out her song. Goosebumps.
Pat Benatar and Martina McBride
Have two of the strongest voices in all of music
This is a perfect pairing
Big Martina Fan right here.
My opinion MARTINA MCBRIDE IS THE BEST FEMALE VOCALIST EVER.
Her range is off the charts.
She can out sing anybody else.
Martina McBride singing "Oh Holy Night" on her Christmas Album is most incredible.
There is the point where the music stops and she sings accapela with the refrain and just destroys all other versions of this song and completely owns it.
I can not even listen to any other version anymore.
Beautiful woman, always has been and always will be.
Martina is probably the most classy woman in music period.
