Thankyou, it is working fine, 119 accounts migrated successfully to MS within 12 hours , APIs enabling was the most critical step, because there is a new project that will be created during migration.
Good video it put me in the right direction on May 8th 2024. There may have been some updates for the migration. In addition to this video I had to learn how to set the credentials and oauth2 after enabling the API's. I then had to add a column for UserName (for source email) after the EmailAddress (destination email) in the csv file. Both EmailAddress and UserNamecolumns had the same emails for my situation
This was my saviour to getting this done. MS and Google's information was not as helpful, nor up to date as this. Thank you so much!

Thanks for this detailed video. Microsoft has one similar to this one but yours has more details for the prerequisits which is a big help. BTW, I see that some people ran into problems and are asking for help. Instead, they should be grateful and continue to do their own research :-) Just saying...

I genuinely appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge. In a previous situation, during an IMAP migration, we encountered a problem with Gmail labels. The issue arose because the migration process treated labels as folders, which resulted in item duplication. To address this, we decided to utilize the BitTitan tool, specifically designed to convert labels into folders. This tool also followed the same API procedures employed in the migration. Now, my question is: Does the procedure you demonstrated effectively address and resolve the issue of duplicate items?

Thank you for an excellent guide! However, my organisation already have existing M365 users and mailboxes. I still need to change MX records + sync mail, calendar and contacts though. Should I go for IMAP mail migration instead? It would be so nice to use this but maybe it is designed to create users/mailboxes from scratch.

@6:54 - what if I cant verify the Google Workspace domain in O365? (due to O365 is currently active and adding the txt record to verify GWS domain breaks mail sent from O365 tenant to GWS domain)

After you migrated all users to O365 and pointed the MX records directly to O365, do you need to clean up all the sub domains you created initially in the prerequisites steps?
Also can you give any insight to what will happen to Labels in Gmail. Will they be converted to Folders in Outlook? What if users use multiple labels in an email?

@@VictorPietroM No I did not cleanup any of the sub domains yet. We are still in the middle of the migration.
Labels will turn into Folders from what I've heard. We're also about to start the migration process, but I was wondering if you know what happens if you already have existing users in O365 with no active mailbox and onedrive? It's just some users have access to their partners' sharepoint, so I wanted to know if the existing users gets deleted by the migration tool and recreated, or it just points the mailbox to the existing user.

My alias domains will not verify even after adding the txt record. The primary domain is already verified and I used the same naming conventions used here.

How were you able to add a sub-domain to O365 when it shows as setup incomplete? I need to move the email from Gmail to O365 for a domain that belongs to Gmail for now. How do I add the same domain to O365 and have it verified without messing up the DNS records for where the mail goes? Don't want DNS records for directing mail to O365 until later. Just want to sync up the mail.
Hi Michael, you have to just verify domain in M365 Admin Center using TXT record.
Currently I am facing some problems during the adding a mail user. It gives me an error saying "Your Organization does not have an Exchange Service Plan" I can't seem to find any answers. I have a unused Microsoft 365 Business Standard license in my Licences. I need help with this. I have been stucked for 3 days looking for solutions
I was in the same boat, I first ordered some licences (business prem) then I was able to create mail users. So I guess if you don't have any licences then you wont be able to setup mail users.

MX records can be changed with your Domain Provider (GoDaddy, FastHosts etc.) and should be done after the migration has completed

Project Creator option not showing 😢
The regular admin account settings may not have the proper rights--believe it or not. Ensure that the account you are using has been given "Project Creator" permission.
In the german version you must look for Projektersteller and Dienstkontenersteller. Maybe you have a localized version, too. You can also switch the language to english.

@jeremy_clarke My solution was to do the IMAP import. You have to turn on less secure apps and IMAP on the email account in Google. I found with this video is does not show how to setup the admin Google account and permissions, turn on api. I found a better video. I can share it if u like
@@bodyboarda4life Thanks mate! I actually found the solution. It's to do with the "Disable service account key creation" policy inside of Organization Policies. This was enabled, so I disabled it to resolve. I think it prevents M365 from correctly creating the key.
I also needed to give myself the "Organisation Policy Administrator" role before I could edit this setting.
I don't think this is best security practise, but in my case, we are killing off our Google Workspace, so it doesn't matter to me.
