Went out to fish for trout just before the season closed with @MoreThanFishing . It's been so long since I've fished the rivers, I almost forgot how much I miss fly fishing! This has inspired me to get back out there and get the dust off the old fly rod.
I will never forget that one episode of Trout fishing where you cooked it up and exclaimed how it was the best fish you’ve ever eaten. You couldn’t resist eating it while it was being cooked because that’s how good it was haha. This is why Trout episodes are my favourite! Thanks for making them for us ❤
Trout is delicious 😋 he's not wrong. 😊
A worm farm, fly fishing, and June vs Goliath. Great to see ya back on camera Matt (and June)!
Watchin you never gets old. Ive been here since i was 15.. im now 22. Time goes by fast man. Love the content
Always fun sharing adventure with you Bro! Thank you for hosting my family at your luxurious mountain Cabin. 🙏
You’re the best! You guys in videos together are awesome
bro my girlfriend and I love it when youre in the videos always nice to see you around
Makes me really miss taking my son jeeping, camping and fishing around sourgrass. Hopefully when he gets back from being stationed over seas we'll go again. 😊
It's so nice to be able to go to go out and have a good time and do some great freshwater fishing. You always have such a positive attitude about everything, and it makes a viewer feel good about things.
For bear poop there’s an easy way to determine what is what and how to avoid them:
Black bear poop will have bits of berries in it and black bears can be avoided by wearing little bells on your backpack so you don’t surprise them, or you can spray bear spray at them to scare them off.
Grizzly bear poop can be recognized because it has little bells in it and it smells like bear spray.
😂
🤣
I was raised in a, small country town. There is a sense of pride, in raising, catching, or harvesting your own food. Great video.
That feeling you were trying to explain about catching a fish, cooking on the shore and reenergizing your energy.... I know exactly what you're talking about and it is indeed hard to explain....it's experiencing nature in its rawist form and proving to yourself that you have the knowledge, skills and abilities to survive in such a wild surrounding! It's one of the most purists feeling!
Happy seeing you and Jun keep it up for us Fans. ❤😊
The feeling you had being in the wild. Catching fish and cooking it all up right there.
Everything that you were describing there’s got to be a design. So many times we can even look at a painting, and we know that there is a creator behind it as an artist.
I am believing that the Lord is going to meet you in such a special way, while you are out enjoying his creation.
That feeling you get when you’re out there and doing what you do. Freedom and accomplishment.
Man I missed this kind of videos of you, those trout catch cook camping days with a LITTLE BIT OF BUTTER are my favorites!!!
OMG, the Shadow People conspiracy is one of the things that I used to love listening to on Coast To Coast. Crazy that you mentioned that. 100%%
Man you have your own personal piece of Paradise! Congratulations on the new property, your kids are so lucky to grow up there!
Thanks for all of your earlier surf fishing videos. Your tutorials on knots and stuff helped me out. Your cook and catch videos helped a lot of people. Thanks man. Hope you are well.
That was cow manure. Black Bear scat will typically have berries in it. Black Bear will typically avoid people unless they have cubs, are cornered, or extremely hungry.
You know your scat well. 10 points for you 🏆
@@outdoorloser4340 I don't know if I should be proud or embarrassed...
@@aegixxer1 Be proud son, be proud.
City folks arent aware that cows/livestock are released to graze in the mountains.
That was bear crap
Glad you can still find time to bless us with fishing videos when I know how busy you are with the property. ✌️
If you’re using an inline spinner but not getting many bites in slightly deeper water, trying a stop and go retrieve where you let the blade to flutter down. When i wasnt getting bites it has worked for me
super stoked to getting regular videos from you again. keep them coming bro.
This is what we've all been missing. So good to see you back at it!
Omgggggg camping in that open area listening to coast to coast at night would be AMAZING
Thank you for blessing me with your videos
Bro it's part of that itch you get with the love of fishing and the outdoors. I get it with wild meat too. My wife bought your backpack for me last year and man Matt it's one of the best things I own. Love the videos keep it up .
I was taught to trout fish a river , use just enough split shot to touch bottom cast upstream hold your pole high with your arm fully extended and follow it down stream keeping line tight until line straightens out and repeat . Good luck
These truly are my FAVORITE uploads that you do. Being out in nature and fresh water fishing for trout then cooking it up right there and enjoying the fruits of your labor. (I was waiting for "a little bit of butter" and an avocado to come out and join that trout. haha Maybe next time.
These types of videos take me back when you did all those trout catch and cook with a little bit of butter and avocado .. good times !!
What up Matts, good to see some trout fishing!!!
I’ve been waiting for a trout episode forever. I know you were injured so you couldn’t do the camp, catch and cook but Man this takes me back
You guys make me so happy! Been watching since like 2019
Coast to Coast AM was so great back in the day, would always be creeped out when I would listen.
June is back 😅 LOVE IT
Need a bag of jacks links jerky to bribe the sasquatch 😁
Bro! Coast 2 Coast. I miss Art Bell. Thank you for the video!
NGL bruh, that was the fastest 15 mins. Need more Matts bangers. And Jun too!
Glad you brought more than fishing back into your videos
Wow, that spot is incredibly beautiful. Nature at its best. Had More than Fishing, all we were missing was Philosophy D... Great content, Great job ..

I can say the same thing about my passion in photography, videography, screenwriting, directing, and editing (not through this channel, but through another one).
A clothes designer can say something similar to this.
A pest control professional can say the same thing.
So I know what you are talking about. Something about being able know how to take a good photo of yourself, making your own videos, writing your own story and effectively directing actors and creatives to help manifest your vision after investing in learning about all of it.
A lot of people can't do what I do, just like a lot of people can't do what you do or know what you know.
Catch and cook wilds be the best
I've been with your channel since before you had a takle box and now you are traveling all over I've loved watching the progress man!! Keep it up
ive also considered farming nightcrawlers to supply the fishing habit. Cool to hear you are doing that, would love to see more about that!
The poop looks like cow patties to me.
“You don’t have to run faster than the bear to get away. You just have to run faster than the guy next to you.”
Matts. The area stays very open due to the acidity of the pine needles. The acidity and cover prevents a lot of ground growth from developing. Loved the vid! Keep up the great content!
man after moving out of california and to the east. i really miss the mountains and fishing with my pops
Caught, cooked and consumed. It is indeed primal. Where we all came from. Now? Not so much.
Gorgeous place
Like a good day. I usually carry a nice size folded up piece of foil with me if I'm out like that. Super easy to cook a fish that way. You shouldn't have an issue with bears in California, i never have. This time of year i like to use grasshoppers. They are easy to catch and are everywhere up there.
There is nothing like the great outdoor adventure you guy’s look like you was really enjoying your day lol
Nice to see you out and about with Jun. 😁🐡
I used to listen to coat to coast with Art Bell when I was traveling for work! Often entertaining! Great to see your video again! You should pot a tree and bring it in during Christmas! Keep the videos coming!
Thumbnail release!! Lucky day for that guy 😁
That's definitely cow/cattle dung.
Bear scat resembles large dog or human logs, if you know what I mean. Up here in the PNW Bear scat almost always has Berry seeds in it.
Coast to coast was the best radio show
Love a trout, nice one mate. 👍 love your videos
I missed these vids
Used to hate doing land nav in the army for this reason. Used to see and hear weird sĥit out in Germany.
Matts, that sure looks like cow patties! Any open range cattle there? Matts, under every rock will be a fat trout, try to hit it before the sun hits the water, you will get the HOG of the hole. Matts @ 06:44 your shadow in on the water, nothing but dinks will hit when they can see your shadow. Just as in surf fishing and hitting the proper holes, you are missing the prime spots under those rocks, always place the bait above the rock, let the current take to over the rock and deliver it to the big one waiting. also check out the tail of the pool at each rock, I grew up fishing creeks like that and eating it over a tiny fire, some salt really helps.
Look at 8:53 isn't there a fish chasing something in the top of that sunken stone in the left corner of the picture? Around the middle of the frame, left corner. Its like two stone pilars sticking out into the pool, one stone is above water (the darker upper stone).. one stone is below water (the lower stone, with lighter colour) Looks so much like a fish splashing the surface chasing something between those rocks but just above that lower rock! Please tell me what you think? Could also only be water movement who knows?😅
Art Bell's Coast to Coast was great! I remember Mel's Hole.
When I meet bears here in Norway I give them a cookie and a fist bump before we go our different ways. It's worked every single time I've met a bear!
Coast to Coast yeah baby!
Heck amigo the small ones taste soooooo good 💯💯❤️❤️
wow 3:07 camping spot looks like a great place for some boletes!!! Awesome!!
Good to see you out fishing - good for the soul! Also, please keep your firearm with you in the wilderness. Being a life-long Alaskan who loves to fish for trout, we say, "there are those who are prepared ... and those that wish they were."
Mann I really missed this action from you bro ✌️
Coast to coast! Dannng! George Nory or Art Bell.
You should try the snorkel fishing in the rivers to see what the trout actually react to.
Happy holidays Matts!
Awesome! It is so beautiful there.
Great Content as Always, Always so loveble to watch and enjoyeble. have a nice day 🙂
Great to see you catching and cooking again!
Funny they chicken laying eggs in the side by side 😂😂❤
Don't need a fire extinguisher in my kitchen but it sure is Nice to have 😅😂
Hello, Matt & Jun.
Next time, if there's a bear , make a quick "paper, scissors & stone game" . (Sudden death) Whoever wins will probably run, and the one who loses stays. (U guys decide) & Jun, remember in the Philippines, another self defense, it's called... "Sayonachi"? Short for ( sayo na tsinelas ko, tarakbo ako) lol
Would love to do some shrooms over there😅
I love growing worms I used to raise 100s of thousands of them an go fishing and give them to my parents for their farms i used a mixture of egg shells and oats grind it to a fine powder you will have super fat night crawlers
I was listening to George Knapp on Coast to Coast when I clicked off to watch this.. small world.
ayos! matts and jun, together for some adventure in the woods! ♥️
The National Park Rangers are advising hikers in Glacier National Park and other Rocky Mountain parks to be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter.
They advise park visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. This might cause a bear to charge.
Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a bear is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear's sensitive nose and it will run away.
It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear scat so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat.
Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.
HAHAH the secret weapon is always someone u can outrun :D
How long has it been since I first took you out there? It was a real pleasure for me to share that area with you. And now you live there. I am so jealous. ❤❤❤
you are a legend.
These vids is why i started watchin
No wonder California has so many wildfires 🤣. Nice fire ring bro...
short rod, 4# test line, micro reel, really small swivel on end line, Pather Martin blk tear drop w/ yellow spots or holographic trout 1/16 or 1/8 oz will kill stream trout in Sierras.
Smokey the bear says..."Only you can prevent forest fires" lol jk
Never run. Might trip their chase prey response. Black bear you fight, grizzly bear curl up, protect the back of your head and neck. Your state game agency will have advice. Black bears rarely attack people
I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t bring your 10mm. I wouldn’t ever go up there without a gun. With that said, I can literally smell the pine watching this. I lived right at the base of the Sequoia National Park and fished up in the sierras most of my life. Only fly fishing though. Now I’m living in Utah and it’s a totally different world. I’ve been in Utah for a year and have managed to catch all my targeted species. Tiger, Brown, Rainbow, Brook, Cutthroat and even a Splake. My favorite was the fall colored up big Brooks I caught last month. Incredible fish. You should take a trip to south eastern Utah for some big stillwater trout.
bear poop always has some type of berries in it!
if you see a bear, just run faster than Jun. That Bear poop is a harbinger of Doom! Brought to you by Red Wigglers, the Cadillac of worms!
I love this video you should fish for trout more often i loved this video and beautiful trout
Matts!!!!
Gorgeous. Let's EAT!
George Norry with the shadow people, in the woods. No thanks😂
Let’s go! Such a huge fan Matt! Keep up the great work 🎉
I was just out getting fishing supplies
I mean you can't outrun 30 mph bears. Usain bolt world champ only reached 28mph 🤣 and 3:35 I remember that spot in your video and shadow people, good times 🤣
Man I really miss the ocean videos 😔😔😔
Thats not bear poop. Its cow. In the mountains they tend to travel the same paths because they know where the water and food is. Thats why you see a bunch of those patties in the same area.
I fucking love the trout videos! SE MN is the zone for some great creeks! I love it!
