I love the appropriate use of technology. I am not so big on the inappropriate use.... Why anyone would want to use a trike for travel in this sort of terrain honestly escapes me. And as an environmentalist I find myself imagining the damage this sort of activity could cause.

Well, I am buying one, a Full Fat Trike from ICE. Why? I fear to fall and on 3 wheel you are much more stable then on 2 wheels. When the dirt and obstables slows you down to a halt, you do not tip over. Thanks to the Rohloff speedhub, you can switch back to a lower gear. And you start riding again. Impossible with a ATB on 2 wheels. The fat tyres will run over soft sand and snow, where ATB tyres will dig in. Also you can clime a chairs on 3 wheels, even when you grind to a halt, you can restart again while climbing 100 % gradient. I have riden an ICE 20 RS and now I ride a velomobile (type Strada, from Velomobiel.nl) for going fast on the road. So I appreciate the stability on 3 wheels. Also NO SADDLE PAIN, because you sit on a chair. The Full Fat Trike was developed to cycle to the South Pole, by Maria Leijerstam. Several people have tried that, but failed of hard winds and heavy rolling resistance of the snow. With a FFT you go slow, but steady. And in 2012 Leijerstam succeded in reaching the South Pole. Conclusion: slightly slower then a normal bike, but stable.

I ordered one too. Not for travel. Only for having fun. I think it´s perfect for having fun.
