Like you said, if you take full advantage of it's features, then it really can turn into a must have gaming machine. I own the Blue Madden 09 PSP Slim and it is the greatest handheld I have ever owned. I also highly recommend the Star Wars Battlefront games, Twisted Metal Head On, and the BlazBlue fighting games.
psp is one of the systems which will never be outdated regardless how technically outdated it becomes...it looks very sleek...does a lot of stuffs and dat widescreen..games on it are stellar and there are almost unlimited selections to dig into...I have a good hunch PSP will age very well...
Very good review. I was going to get a used PSP 3000 but I decided not to after many times of considering it. The one thing I said to myself that made me decide was "I have no idea where this one has been... Heck I have no idea how any of these have been treated by their owners." What I like the most is the anti-glare screen, but what really takes away from this is the fact that the system is made of cheap plastic, so you have to buy a case that has a glare on the screen. I get sick of playing in the dark because of the glare issue.

Seems like everybody in my circle, that are gamers seem to underrate the PSP. I for one, seem to love this handheld system with its insane AAA list of library games, look and overall feel (even though i like the PSP 1000's shape better.) The DS and 3DS have great games but none compared to the PSP. I had high hopes for the Vita but most of the games seem to be indie games and only an extensive handful of AAA games.
I build myself a modded cfw psp 2000, changed the housing, adding the same case. I have snes/gb emu install and some ps1 games , diablo 1, silenth hill.
Ssj .Blurr replacing the shell is tricky , especially the umd drive. But its totally doable if you have some patience. The shoulder button may or may not have to get some adjustment at the end, it depend on the shell you ordered. Good luck !

I absolutely love my PSP, but the only slight problem I have with it is trying to play it in direct sunlight on a very sunny day. It is then that you almost won't be able to see a thing on your screen because it's reflective. I found a somewhat temporary solution for this by using the PSP Bright v0.3 plugin (requires Custom FirmWare).

That's a Yes and a No, They use by default Memory Stick Pro Duo, But You can by an adapter to use the micro sd card. So theoretically speaking they use both.

Hmm.. he said the battery usage is great. Well, that seems to be a good improvement upon the 2000 then, because I saw a video where a guy said the battery on the previous versions only lasts about 5 hours of gaming.. I don't know if anyone here has actual experience on this?
Medal of Honor Heroes 2 was the best!! Online was more fun or just as fun as any online multiplayer game that I have ever played! I spent so many hours playing.. I miss it a lot. EA shut down the servers back in 2011 or 12 around. Sucks! It was crazy fun!!
I had the exact same PSP 3000 but mine is broken but 2 weeks ago I found a working PSP 3001 God of War edition at a pawn shop I tested it and it worked so I put it on layaway if I can restore my old PSP 3000 I'll have 2 PSPs

Funny u still use that noisy slow reading UMD slot! Hack the psp and with a cool tool program you can use ur UMD slot to copy exactly any UMD game and automatically store it in the memory card and ready to play via the memory card which loads super faster than any mechanical slot disc reader!

About 4-5 hours depending on how bright you have the screen.

Basically brand new well the internal parts, i recently replaced the grey shell since it pretty used up with a white one and like new :D
