BOOK AN ALASKAN CRUISE! fs26.formsite.com/phfxDh/cruise-request/index
Hiking the mount Roberts trail from the bottom up to the top has always been my favorite. ✌️👍
I would love to do this the next time we are in the area!
Thanks Josh & Taylor - love your exploration videos as we travel out side Disney too and we can see possible and past trips for us from people we "know".
We were fortunate to see a bubble net and a breach on our first trip to Juneau! Awesome to see.
I was on an NCL cruise about 2 weeks before yall and did the same excursion! We also saw the same pod of whales bubble net feeding. The guides explained that the area has very deep seas right up against land, and that makes it an easy spot for the whales to fish. The glacier view was clear and we saw some big chunks floating in the lake. On Norwegian it's called "Whales, Glaciers & Rainforest Trails" and I would recommend it to everyone.
When did you go?
Alaska is on my list and your videos are absolutely beautiful! It is so nice to see your adventures, thank you for bringing us along.
nice nice , we didn't have a chance to go due to the weather was so foggy the ovation of the sea has to make a u turn ! ,thanks for showing this !
Wow! What amazing excursions! The whales were breathtaking! I would absolutely LOVE to do these excursions! Thank you for sharing these amazing views with us! ❤
Thanks Nora! Wish we could go back tomorrow!
Amazing footage! Currently researching Alaska cruises so your timing is perfect. 👍 And YES to the glacier-rita
It was so great! We would certainly do it again! Inside passage cruises are the ones you want!
Booking out trip this week and appreceiated the video to help decide what excersions to do. I was not going to do the Endicott arm/Dawes Glacier excersion and you sold me on it! Can't wait!!!
We would love to help you plan your trip! fs26.formsite.com/phfxDh/wswzps9lxa/index.html
Was here 2 weeks ago, great place !
Got to see bubble net feeding on our last cruise. It was amazing.
Interesting you guys did this on Day 5…We’re doing a seven night on Ovation in June 2023 and our itinerary has this as our first stop on Day3….then we have Skagway on Day 4, Sitka on Day 5, a sea day, and then a Full Day at Victoria on Day 7(we wanted a full day there since we went there as the last stop on our Honeymoon in 1993!)😊
I want Whales, Whales and more Whales. I went on an Alaska cruise on Princess 20 years ago and didn't know any better and by the time I got there with my 90 year old Father all the whale excursions we're booked. Alaska cruises are so different with no pool time or only inside entertainment. I was also disappointed in taking Princess, an old ship, as opposed to Royal Carribean with the new Promenades. But I thought Princess excelled in Alaska. I did take an excursion, taking off in a seaplane and flying over Fjords and landing in the middle of the lake and standing on the sea pontoons and taking pictures. The best part was the silence. But was still disappointed. Also walking around shops in towns in Skyway I spent a lot of money shopping buying costs, salmon, chocolates. So that really changed the spiritual energy. So if I ever go back RCL and whales only and of course balcony
I've been watching your dinners at Victoria and Albert and Remy and Disney Paris. Great videos. Loved the way. Lauren kept whispering into the camera as if we were right there. Keep it up. Working my way through and liking them all.
Thanks for making this video! Very informative. Planning a trip and think I'm going to need a glacialrita! ;)
Thanks for watching! It was a lot of fun! The drinks were quite good!
Red Dog Saloon in Juneau we visited was so much fun!
Wish we would have had time to check it out. It looked like a great place and we heard really good things about it.
Thank you going September 1 2023 ovation of the seas from edmond Oklahoma
This is probably one of the best excursion from the Alaska cruise series
Omg it was amazing. I’d fly back just to do these!
Hey Josh and Taylor! Awesome video! What month did you cruise?
"D'you know, the state capital of Alaska.." Haha, that was the silly trick we learned in school to remember that Juneau is the capital of Alaska. Fairbanks and Anchorage always seemed much more logical to pick if one didn't know and had to guess. Next hurdle was to get the spelling correct, of course.
When are the regular vids coming back? Miss your park vids and food reviews!!!
Very nice....what are these excursions, specifically? Are the whale watching and hike combined into one excursion? Is the catamaran one only offered via Ovation? thx.
I have seen whales on a whale tour in Maine and have the bubbling on documentaries before that is so cool
Even our guides were so giddy about it. Such a cool experience!
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor that’s pretty amazing nature is just crazy cool
I am sooooo jealous! I went on the Ovation of the Seas probably just before or after you. One of the main reasons to go was to see a glacier up close calving. I had booked an excursion for that but it was cancelled because of fog and large ice chunks. 😩 I went on the excursion to Mendenhall glacier but it was foggy and rainy and we couldn’t go to Nugget Falls because it was too flooded and rainy to go out there. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Oh that’s too bad! Sorry to hear that. What week did you go? This was about the middle of July.
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor Oh my trip was August 26-Sept 2
Did you book the excursion through the cruise ship and it was refunded since it was cancelled?
@@jennyd5728 by now I don’t remember how I booked the excursion but I’m sure I would have insisted a refund.
Love your video and we want to do this excursion. It looks amazing. What is still excursion called and where can I book it? Is it through royal? Thank you.
When did that excursion pop up in RCCL. We are 6 months away from our trip and that excursion still has not popped up.
What a beautiful cruise to go on! I would be taking lots and lots of pictures!
I think we took 1000s of photos!
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor that would be me!
Did you feel this bigger ship is better than say yhe brilliance or radiance?
Awesome video! We just booked a cruise for June. How fair in advance did your book your excursions??
Book your excursion as far out as possible. Most of ours we booked about 6 months or further out.
Every single person i know, including myself, who has done a,whale tour in Alaska has seen that feeding method. And every tour guide talks about how rare it is. .i think they might be enhancing the experience for all. Which ever, it was great.
😭😭😭
What are your thoughts on any of the heli-glacier tours for Mendenhall?
*edit: great vids by the way! Incredible that you were able to capture that feeding frenzy hunting technique.
If you able to get one, definitely do one. There are a few different ones and some don’t go to Mendenhall, but it is one of the better experiences. Not many people are ever able to step foot out on a glacier!
I did the Herbert glacier helicopter tour a couple of years ago and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done. 👍
This was amazing. What time of the year was your cruise? We are heading out in September.
This was middle of July. Have a great time!
Will be going on quantum of the seas however this specific shore excursion is not listed at all on the shore excursion page
Different ships will have different excursions, so unfortunately they may not offer it
Beautiful! Would you go back to Alaska?
💯
What is the name of the excursion you started with? We're going in May 2023 and are doing the helicopter to dog sled excursion, but would love to see if we can fit that first one you did in the morning!
It was a Glacier Explorer!
Hi there, I noticed that you said that the boat does some spinning around as you sit there for two hours. Did anyone get seasick? I was on a whale watching cruise off of Santa Barbara and got very sea sick. Just trying to prepare. Thank you.
We didn’t even feel that ship moving to be honest!
Hi lovely video what month were you in Alaska
Hi Edward! This was in July.
what time did Endicott Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer Excursion Start from the ship? and what time did you get into Juneau?
Honestly, we don’t remember what time we arrived into Juneau, but the explorer started around 6 or 7 maybe.
Did you guys know Viking recently launched cruises through the Great Lakes? You could come see me at the top of the Michigan "mitten"!
Falk colors! Apple picking! Bald eagles everywhere! Roughly 18 deer in my yard as we speak! (Kidding, not about the deer, but you can't see my yard from Lake Michigan.)
It's expensive, though......
Oh nice! We may or may not be looking at a river cruise in the near future!
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor The Great Lakes cruises have a lot of potential, but Viking seems to not have yet figured out the excursions. There is so much to do here!
@@travelwithjoshandtaylor We know people that keep dogs as "mushers". Yes, dog sleds is a thing up here. The climate is much more mild than Alaska.
But, I've driven my snowmobile to the grocery store. The northern US is so different from the southern US!
Looks like an entirely different world
It was incredible!
What month did you go? We are going in May for the second time!
We were there in July
Do you think you’ll do another group cruise to Alaska in 2023?
We probably won’t do another group cruise to Alaska for quite some time. We have so many other destinations to explore. 2023 is our Mediterranean group cruise
What kind of camera do you make all of your videos with? Is that a go pro?
We use a few different pieces of equipment but our main cameras are a Sony A1, GoPro, and iPhone.
Maybe I missed it. What dates were you in Alaska?
This was July 2022
I'm sorry I mean Taylor
Was that in October? Did the boat move a lot?
This was mid July. Our ship had little movement and the glacier excursion boat also moved very little. We would still recommend you use Dramamine if your unsure or nervous.
When did you go?
We were there in mid July
Did she disrespect the gentleman laying down by calling him a whale?
