My doctor diagnosed me with type two diabetes in 2014. I’ve been relying on medication but my diabetes gradually got worse even with maximum doses. In 2023 she said I’m going to need insulin injections. I asked her: “If I am insulin resistant, why would I need to inject more of it?” She asked: “Who told you that you are insulin resistant? I said “Isn’t that the definition of type two diabetes?” She got a little upset that I was refusing insulin injections. I went carnivore and in three months my A1C went from 13 to 7. Researching freed me from the prescription drug trap.

Ok all, I saw my neurosurgeon yesterday to go over my latest MRI's of the brain, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar areas and it's official... My Chiari Malformation Type I is gone!!!! The doc is completely confused and stumped. My Syrinxes are also changing and are no longer single units but now breaking down into smaller ones. I also had multiple discs that were flat and there is no longer any evidence of that. I also had three bulging discs in my thoracic area, no it's only one and is slight. I cried such tears of joy! My Lyme disease is also improving and I want to get tested in six months and see if it still comes up positive. My Neuro called me a "medical phenomenon"❤❤❤❤❤❤

Working in a professional field I have come to realize that many people hold a position, whether doctor or engineer or others, just because they have completed a predetermined process to do so. They don't hold any "divine" information about their area nor are they infallible. We should all use our reason and demand logical arguments and facts. If those cannot be given, you can safely assume the person speaking is doing so out of learned statements, not careful consideration.

My doctor looked at me like I’m crazy & said “It is unsafe. The body needs glucose to survive”, I replied “the body converts protein to glucose, there is no essential carbohydrate in diet”, she said “I’m a doctor, what are you?” I replied “then you should know that”, she said “are you a doctor?”, I said “I don’t need to be a doctor to learn” Then she then said “who are you learning from?”, I said “research studies, doctors online & the experiences of thousands of people” she replied: “you’re getting your information from quacks”, I tried to give her links but she then dismissed me out of the door with her hands, turned to my dad & said “you have your hands full there!” , I replied “look up the Harvard university study on 2000 people on carnivore diet as a starting point, then continue researching it”, she laughed & closed her door.

Good for you for standing up to her, she sounds like a bully. If you can't learn, especially from your parents, you're a bad doctor. Also, it's in every single biochemistry textbook on Earth that in the so called fasting metabolism we make perfect amounts of blood sugar, glycogen, and ketones. Nothing needs to be said about online doctors, this is straight out of college level biochemistry, which, if she went to medical school in America, then she would have taken and is now just forgetting, or if she trained outside of America then she likely didn't take biochemistry and is just ignorant. Also, you make carbs from your fat mainly, not just protein, and if she or anyone ever says to you that you can't eat that way because you need carbs, just all then why you're still alive then? Or the Inuit for that matter? Or everyone their every ice age? People really need to think.

Here's some information on allergies. Many plants are histamine liberators and histamine dumpers. The most common and notorious culprits in the allergy game are nightshades. Most people associate nightshades with the most toxic and deadly Atropa Belladonna, but potatoes, tomatoes, and any pepper(hot or mild) are all in that same class. And these commonly consumed nightshades release Histamine and cause Histamine stores in the body to release themselves. This over saturation of histamine is what causes the allergic response. Hence why all the good allergy medicine are anti-histamines. I'd start with removing nightshades to at least see if your allergy symptoms are reduced. Plants are trying to kill you! Great Q&A Dr. Chaffee.

And it occurs to me further, that by being carnivore we are really helping our pancreas to provide its true function and not overtaxing it or requiring it to handle vast quantities of sugar like the standard American diet does and a fruitarian diet would.
I do hope that more people get wise to what humans really have always eaten and need to eat for health. All these plant foods we've created are beautiful and tasty but they are absolutely not what we are adapted to surviving on. Or thriving on, especially. I had two thighs and I could hardly walk the next day..my hips were killing me. 24 hours later I was back to normal.. I just can't do chicken anymore..I had similar with issues with chicken wings done in the airfryer.. only affected my hands those times.. Chicken is now completely off the menu for me. I am a 63 soon to be 64- Jan 2024 and I am now down 98 pounds just doing carnivore for 10 months, no cheats at all. To acid reflux suffers (especially those without a bladder) add 1 teaspoons of Enos to a glass of water and skull. Have another dose if your reflux is severe and persistent. Enos is just baking soda with a sweetener, and I personally do not worry about the sweetener because I do not get acid reflux often enough for it to be a concern. The Baking soda instantly absorbs they acid giving you immediate relief. You are getting acid reflux because you are eating more fat that your liver can produce the required amount of bile in order to dissolve the fat. For those with gallbladders they have a reserve whereas those without don't. So eat less fat and you will not get acid reflux. Also allow you body (liver especially) time to adapt to the volume of fat you are eating and perhaps it will churn out more bile over time. Always have some fat but not more than your liver can handle. I sometimes eat lean meat and add a little room temperature dripping (aka tallow) that way I can control/adjust the portion of fat in my meal.

I’m a bit worried I’ll slip back into my old carb-addicted ways but so far I’m able to avoid bread, grains, sugar. I'm sorry you have to go through chemo. I hope you'll be healed. 🙏🏼
Just because you crave fruits and vegetables doesn't mean you should consume them. Especially not if you have cancer and are going through chemo. If you want to hydrate yourself, all you need is electrolytes. They contain the minerals your body needs to be hydrated. By consuming those fruits and vegetables, you may slow down your healing. Cancer loves carbs, even if it's whole foods. The body will break them down to sugar and the cancer cells will thrive on them.
I wish you the best on your healing journey. Prayers ascending for you. 🙏🏼

This is how I do it, and this method is accordance with natural law. I eat only what was available to my ancestors before man made technology took us away from hunting and scavenging (we are hunter scavengers not hunter gatherers FYI). If a food wasn’t available to this group of people, I don’t touch the stuff. Then I eat as much as I want whenever I feel like it, because our feelings are there to motivate us towards what is good for us and away from what is bad for us (assuming the landscape of possibility is the same as what our biology expects.
The only thinking I have to do under these conditions is I’m preparing to make sure the nutritional landscape available to me is as close as possible to my ancestors nutritional landscape.
And, what do you know, my feelings TELL me exactly what I need, exactly when I need it. I avoid processed modern food just as I avoid drugs, for the same reasons. Processed food and drugs are both designs to hyper stimulate and thus co-opt our natural drives into making us want more and more and more and to never be satisfied, damned is our health should we not be able to resist both of these evils.
Narcotic man made drugs are evil because they subvert the natural law governing our minds and bodies. Narcotic man made foods are evil because they subvert the natural law governing our minds and bodies.
It’s amazing that I had to spend 20 years going down the atheism / scientism rabbit hole, then 5 years down the Christianity rabbit hole, only to put the two together, and conclude religion has all the right answers. Science and individuals like Anthony helped me build a bridge between these two world views. Good and evil are real.
We are creatures just like any other who have a biology which expects a certain landscape. We are not our own Gods, we can’t have whatever we want whenever we want, we must respect natural law (God’s plan and design). To not do so is to slowly march towards your own personal hell right here on planet Earth.

Since my body reacts poorly to Wheat and/or Gluten I have to avoid bread or buns which means that if getting a free sandwich from Subway I have to throw away the bun. The same holds true for any sandwich or burger place as long as they do not grill their burgers in seed oils since I react poorly to some of those too.

I have been listening to you for a month now. I have been vegan for 14 years my BP and cholesterol have not improved in those years but what changed me is I started to have severe muscle pain in my legs and feet. I ended up in the ER a year ago and they couldn’t figure out was wrong. Shortly after my son encouraged me to eat salmon and I started to feel better but my feet were so sore I could hardly walk on them. Well I started listening to you and have started eating meat and I can’t express how well I have started to feel I have even started hiking. I haven’t gone full carnivore but I want to but I tried Atkins years ago and lost no weight. I have hashimotos so I’m concerned about that and my heart because of heart disease which was attributed to thyroid. I really want to try this all the way my BP has been going in the right direction so I’m really nervous about the heart any advice? Really enjoy your advice!!!

I saw that Hasimoto have so many correlations with a leaky gut triggering an autoimmune response plus sibo, and meat was one of the steps to heal back the gut lining. Maybe you could check concerning Hashimoto, gut leak and carnivore diet.

My wife’s dad got told he was at a high risk of having diabetes. So after the doctor told him how to eat, he eats a lot less meat and mostly carbs. And he got these pills every single day. Seems weird he would need the medication if his diet change was the correct approach

Dr. C, if you're looking for a unique podcast episode, I've been traveling across Colombia for the last 3 months on Carnivore! Lots of fun stories to tell, and tips to share for other travelers/remote workers trying to make this diet work abroad. LMK if interested.

My area adds huge amounts of chlorine and that upsets my stomach. I have to drink filtered water. Even some mineral waters have too much chlorine and upset my stomach so have to be careful with brand.

Yes, Dr. Chaffee! Yes to fatty meat! (Picking up some beef cheeks I ordered from the butcher later today.) It's ironic that the markets offer mostly lean meats but most of the customers are fat. Now I understand binge eating. We keep going because the body's still waiting for the real food.

Friend, please, if could give me a hint. When i eat fatty meat my heart hours later feels like a pressure in it, this is normal? I put my experience in here, and it's above your comment, if you could read. Thanks!

@@brunobortoli12 I'm sorry but I'm not qualified to help you. No, that doesn't sound normal, but everyone's health journey is different and needs individual attention. I found help with a naturopathic doctor. It's unfortunate that we must pay out of pocket for such help, but it was worth every penny. I wish you the best!

I've had Irregular heartbeats for years and even had to carry around nitroglycerin at one point (years ago). I also noticed that at first my heart seemed worse and pounded harder than usual after starting carnivore. I heard Dr. Barry say that this is normal so I didn't stress. It didn't last long and only happened a couple of times. Now I don't have any irregular heartbeat at all (after 20+ years! --I lost my brother and father to heart attacks.). If you're short of breath, or feel like you're having a heart attack, or get light headed, etc., get yourself to the ER. If it's just pounding, flip flopping, or an irregular beat, I wouldn't stress. This is normal when you first adapt to carnivore, but if you don't feel right about things, get to a doctor. I just had my doc apt., and my heart now sounds normal! @@brunobortoli12

With vitamin D if people have lowered their natural cholesterol from not eating enough saturated animal fats, then their vitamin D will be low due to lower cholesterol. Cholesterol collects in skin and rays of sun stimulates Vitamin D production, but found naturally in fat of animals.

I forgot to mention that thankfully my body does not react at all to small fragments of bread that are the equivalent to toaster crumbs making it easy to eat the meat from a subway sandwich and to throw away the bun without having severe burning gallbladder pains vomiting and green bowel movements like what can happen if going to a barbecue tasting and eating a few dozen pretzels dipped in different bbq sauces. McDonald’s sandwiches had previously given me the green bowel movements minus the vomiting so I know that the gluten and/or wheat was to blame for it in both instances.
